The Giants were playing in Philadelphia so no time zones were crossed getting to Miami. And being asked to protect a three run lead against a very bad team is not a high leverage situation. It didn't work but that's why teams play the games.

I'll match "first game" stories with you. A month ago, I made my debut in the Senior League in Portland Maine (and my first game since 2001). In my first at bat, I dribbled the ball towards third. I put my head down and "sprinted" towards first base. After what seemed like 30 seconds, I noticed that I was only about 10 feet from home plate. So I downshifted and headed to first. After another 10 feet, I felt my left knee scream "no mas" and I hopped the rest of the way on one leg. No structural damage to the knee but strained ligaments that ended my season. Oh well, there's always next year.

Probably not, but the asking price may be proportionately as asinine. A I said, we are not in the front office so we don't know.

You stand by them because there is a possibility that every trade discussed began with "We want either Buxton or Kepler and either Lewis or Kirilloff plus Graterol for" (insert whatever name you want). None of us knows what the front office is doing to try to improve this team. But, IMHO, it seems like a lot of people are assuming they are doing nothing.

Aim higher! That is a recurring theme in this thread. A. MadBaum is off the market (Giants not selling). B. Stroman is headed to San Diego (according to MLB.com because the Padres have the #1 farm system and can outbid the Twins). C. Syndaguard is going to the Yankees (again based on an article at MLB.com). So if A, B, and C are true, then for whom should they aim?

I'm heading up the coast of Maine today and then to St. John New Brunswick on Friday. I won't have internet access until late Friday afternoon so the home run summary after tonight's game will not appear until around 5:00 CDT Friday.

The "non-strike" call against Duffy was brutal. But to be fair, the Yankee pitchers had two pitches at the knees called balls after Duffy's. Incredible game! And if Max's drive was a foot higher, it would have ended the game in our favor. Go get them today, boys.
