  1. Yesterday was Tuesday, August 20. It was the 126th game of the year putting the Twins 78% of the way through the season. The Twins hit 3 home runs upping their record-breaking season total to 244 home runs. They are now only 24 home runs short of setting a new single-season MLB record.
  2. Does that include 2-0 pitches that are three inches below the strike zone? Looking for a good pitch to hit is great. Flailing away at ball three is a whole different thing.
  3. Before the final vote on the worst Twins'play of the night, I would like to add another. Why was Sano swinging at a 2-0 pitch with two outs in the ninth? And it wasn't even a strike! Major screw up.

  6. "After a couple of load innings to begin the ballgame, it was quite for a couple innings," Did you mean "loud innings" and "quiet"???
  7. Yesterday was Saturday, August 17. It was the 123rd game of the year putting the Twins 76% of the way through the season. The Twins hit 2 home runs upping their record-breaking season total to 240 home runs. They are now only 27 home runs behind the single-season MLB record.
  8. There was an old coffee commercial which had the tag line: "Fine best part of waking up is Folger's in your cup.". For me, the best part of waking up is reading the Minor League Report. After last night's Twins' game, I logged in to make my daily homerun update in the game summary article and I saw that the Minor League Report was already posted. I logged out without reading it so I would have it to look forward to this morning. Thanks to all the contributors. You make hauling my fat a$$ out of bed almost worth while.
  9. My take on this situation is a little different. To me, you take a 3-0 pitch in a close game because the pitcher is having trouble finding the strike zone and you want him to work for an out. In a lop-sided game, swing away. Cave is likely to get a hit about once in four tries so the odds are in Texas' favor if he swings. As for "unwritten rules", write them down so everyone knows what they are. Or if they are too embarrassing to write down, get rid of them.

  13. I went to bed right feeling thoroughly disgusted right after Grandal's home run. I was very surprised and happy when I saw the headline of this article this morning. Maybe it's time for Harper to take a trip to the IL?

  18. Maybe Rocco should make the Twins' hitters show up at Target Field a couple hours early since lately they don't appear to be in the game until the late innings.

  22. The Jaylin Davis trade must have made Cave very happy. If not for it, Cave might still be in AAA and Davis in right field for the Twins.
