    Accent on the middle syllable for each name? How do you pronounce HTH? Or even better, what does it mean?

    It took me several years before I could figure out how to pronounce the blonde woman's name on The Big Bang Theory and now the Twins draft this kid. Can someone spell it phonetically for me?? At first I thought they drafted Keanu Reeves!

    Obviously I was not involved in orchestrating this trade. But the way I read it is that the Dodgers needed to send more to Boston to complete the Betts/Price transaction and the Red Sox did not want Maetta. So the Dodgers suggested Graterol and the Sox said "Yes, Please!". So the Dodgers sent Maetta to Minnesota for Graterol and then traded him to Boston. If Boston now thinks Graterol is unhealthy, then the Dodgers should be on the hook, not the Twins. But all that aside, why would Boston not just take Maetta if they had to have a starter? I do think it's buyer's remorse and now they want to save face. Hold your position Falvine.

    If the Twins are struggling to be at .500 after two months with this offensive lineup, then I'm afraid one "ACE" won't be enough. Pitchers with the ability of my mother (and she's been dead 20 years) should be enough to get by until Peneda and Hill are ready. But, if any of the top five or six on this list want to sign a minor league deal, go to it.

    Adam Wainwright pitched 75 innings his first full year in the majors and 202 the following year. Graterol has never exceeded 111 innings so he is not ready to be a starter. I guess I don't follow the logic. Let the young man throw the ball.

    Trevor Storey and Jon Gray both have one year contracts (I believe) and the Rockies may not be able to retain the. So trade Lewis, Rosario, Polanco, Thorpe, and Enlow for both and extend them!!!!

    If you're going to trade all those prospects, then throw in Rosario also and see if you can get Trevor Storey and Jon Gray (or Marquez German) from the Rockies. And then offer Donaldson $110M and call it a successful off season.

    Can't we all just get along?? (I hope the smiley faces show up so everyone knows I'm injecting levity.) I agree that the offseason has not been a failure but from a different point of view. If the front office had somehow arranged for: Wheeler's family to be from Minnesota instead of the Philadelphia area,Bumgarner to have always had his horses in Minnesota instead of Arizona,A large Asian population in the Twin Cities for Ryu, andA couple hundred million extra dollars above what they actually had available for Cole,and they still didn't sign any of these four pitchers, then I would consider the offseason a failure of the front office. I found the offseason to be very disappointing because no additional starting pitching was added. I do believe that the front office tried their best but were faced with obstacles that money wasn't going to overcome. But disappointing is far removed from failure. Now you may begin piling on me for disagreeing......

    If the Twins want to move Sano to 1B, I would rather see them go after Trevor Storey and strengthen the SS position. Polanco and Arraez get 2B and 3B (and I don't care who plays where). Or even better, trade Rosario, Polanco, Rooker, Enlow, and Thorpe for Storey and either Jon Gray or Marquez German. And still sign Donaldson.

    Food for Thought... Over the last decade, the top 10 spenders in free agency handed out 8.347 billion dollars and have a total of 3 World Series titles to show for it. That's one title for every 2.782 billion dollars spent. Houston won once and only spent 329 million over the entire decade. Big spending (IMHO) does not appear to be the roadmap to World Series titles.

    Go after Trevor Storey and solve the horrible infield defense problem and bring in a big bat. Polanco goes to 2B, Arraez to 3B, and Sano to 1B. And while your talking to the Rockies, ask about Jon Gray and German Marquez.

    Just to clarify, that number is before federal and state taxes. The actual "cash" is closer to $80 million.

    For what it's worth, on MLB radio this afternoon, they were discussing Yamaguchi. It was their opinion (and they know more about him than I do) that he projects as a back-end starter at best. The Twins already have a bunch of those so I'm glad they passed.

    I would rather see what it would take to get Trevor Story from Colorado. Move Polanco to 2B, Arraez to 3B, and Sano to 1B. Defense is much stronger with minimal impact on the offense.

    Two points. 1. They finished 20 games under 500 me need help. 2. They get one MLB player who could hit 45 home runs in Denver along with five prospects. Make it been 7 and 20 if you want to nitpick.

    Give the Rockies Rosario and 5 prospects rated between 10 and 20 for Gray and Story. Move Polanco to 2nd, Arraez to 3rd, and Sano to 1st.

    White Sox reportedly offered Wheeler more than the Phillies but to no avail. When the money is this high, it becomes secondary to picking a team you want to play with.

    I'm watching Hot Stove League on MLB network and they said that Wheeler turned down a higher offer from the White Sox. I don't think there was any chance of Wheeler leaving the national league. I hope they sign Ryu, Baumgardner, and Gausner, trade for another starter and hope someone pans out.

    If you really want to take a flyer on someone, I have the perfect candidate. After shoulder surgery in 1987, I was unable to throw a baseball until I had my shoulder replaced in 2017 and spent 2018 rehabilitating it. I can now throw pain free. I have no wear and tear on my right arm and can still top out on the radar gun at a solid 45 MPH. My control is a little weak but I'm sure Wes Johnson could straighten that out. And I would be a very inexpensive signing which would leave a lot of money left over for Rendon and Cole. And if you view this as a Bill Veeck type of move, what other team would have a 73-year old pitcher?
