  5. That was an interesting five-year old opinion piece about bunting against the shift with a lot of cherry-picked names thrown out as examples of people who can't bunt. I remain doubtful about your premise based on this "study."

  11. Who else out there in Twins' Land automatically says "slider low and away for a swinging strike three" every time Sano has two strikes on him?

  14. Not only are his numbers down but he's just a rental. I hope they don't trade for him unless: The Twins only give up a lottery ticket minor leaguer. OR Wes Johnson sees something fixable in MadBaum, and MadBaum agrees to negotiate a two year contract extension. Otherwise I pass.

Out of 59 years, the current team ranks 28th on the all-time list of Twins' home runs in one season and are on a pace to hit 311 home runs this season. On a side note, I live in Maine so I have to watch the game with the Red Sox announcers. Cruel punishment. Lots of bitching about the "out of the batter's box" non-call in the 17th. But here is my note: I set my DVR to record six hours last night and I finished watching this morning. The game ended at 5 hours and 56 minutes. Thank you Max.

  18. Watching Parker pitch is like playing golf with someone who takes a dozen practice swings, hovers over the ball for twenty seconds and then proceeds to hit the ball about 20 yards. Just throw the damn ball over the plate and quit twitching and grimacing. Geez!!!!!!! I feel much better now, thanks.

  20. I've been a "protect the prospects" guy for the past several years because (in my opinion) there wasn't a very high probability of the Twins going anywhere with a few minor additions. Better to wait it out. But now is the time. I could easily see six to eight prospects being traded in return for three proven relief pitchers (or two and a starter) and I would be on board with that. There appears to be a lot of redundancy in the outfield, MI, and 1B/DH and keeping them all isn't possible. Go Falvine.....
