  1. Trade for starters and make Gibson a reliever. He throws strikes.
  2. Did he hurt himself leaping into the wall Tuesday?
  3. That was an interesting five-year old opinion piece about bunting against the shift with a lot of cherry-picked names thrown out as examples of people who can't bunt. I remain doubtful about your premise based on this "study."
  4. Yesterday was Wednesday, June 26 and it was the 79th game of the year. The Twins are now 49% of the way through the season. Out of 59 years, the current team ranks 21st on the all-time list of Twins' home runs in one season and are on a pace to hit 306 home runs this season.
  5. Yesterday was Tuesday, June 25 and it was the 78th game of the year. The Twins are now 48% of the way through the season. Out of 59 years, the current team ranks 21st on the all-time list of Twins' home runs in one season and are on a pace to hit 309 home runs this season.
  6. I misread the title as Astudillo being "DFA'd" and that was a shock. Optioned? Who cares?
  7. Today is Sunday, June 23 and it was the 77th game of the year. The Twins are now 48% of the way through the season. Out of 59 years, the current team ranks 22nd on the all-time list of Twins' home runs in one season and are on a pace to hit 309 home runs this season.

  10. Who else out there in Twins' Land automatically says "slider low and away for a swinging strike three" every time Sano has two strikes on him?
  11. Yesterday was Thursday, June 20 and it was the 74th game of the year. The Twins are now 46% of the way through the season. Out of 59 years, the current team ranks 25th on the all-time list of Twins' home runs in one season and are on a pace to hit 309 home runs this season.
  12. Yesterday was Wednesday, June 19 and it was the 73rd game of the year. The Twins are now 45% of the way through the season. Out of 59 years, the current team ranks 27th on the all-time list of Twins' home runs in one season and are on a pace to hit 311 home runs this season.
  13. Go to MiLB.com and you can find all the individual player details you desire by team.
  14. Once again the MLB.com Twins game is blacked out in Maine and I have to listen to the Red Sox announcers. Tonight I have two big complaints. First, why can't they learn how to pronounce the opposing players names? Monday it was Berrios (berry - ohz). Tonight it's Arraez pronounced three ways during the game: properly a few times but most often as either "arise" or rhyming with "hairy ass." These announcers are well paid. They should put in some effort to learn opponents' names. And also, after each of Astrudillo's hits, they bitched about his "bat flip" (which looked to me more like he carried it part of the way to first base and then tossed it towards the dugout). These guys are awful.
  15. After watching all 17 innings last night, I sure would hate to see a Twins hitter that enjoys putting the ball in play.
  16. Not only are his numbers down but he's just a rental. I hope they don't trade for him unless: The Twins only give up a lottery ticket minor leaguer. OR Wes Johnson sees something fixable in MadBaum, and MadBaum agrees to negotiate a two year contract extension. Otherwise I pass.
  17. Yesterday was Tuesday, June 18 and it was the 72nd game of the year. The Twins are now 44% of the way through the season. Out of 59 years, the current team ranks 28th on the all-time list of Twins' home runs in one season and are on a pace to hit 311 home runs this season. On a side note, I live in Maine so I have to watch the game with the Red Sox announcers. Cruel punishment. Lots of bitching about the "out of the batter's box" non-call in the 17th. But here is my note: I set my DVR to record six hours last night and I finished watching this morning. The game ended at 5 hours and 56 minutes. Thank you Max.
  18. Yesterday was Monday, June 17 and it was the 71st game of the year. The Twins are now 44% of the way through the season. Out of 59 years, the current team ranks 28th on the all-time list of Twins' home runs in one season and are on a pace to hit 313 home runs this season.
  19. Today is Sunday, June 16 and it was the 70th game of the year. The Twins are now 43% of the way through the season. Out of 59 years, the current team ranks 28th on the all-time list of Twins' home runs in one season and are on a pace to hit 317 home runs this season.
  20. I agree with Brock. My thinking is that you have Arraez and Gordon both looking to play 2B (which is where Polanco moves eventually) and Lewin Diaz and Lamonte Wade waiting in a very crowded OF/1B queue. See who wants some ready for MLB players for a good reliever. Losing all four in exchange for two good relievers (with some team control) would be a big win for the Twins.
  21. I guess my post wasn't clear. I meant that if all it took to get the home run leader was a Gulf Coast prospect, then maybe some relief help could be obtained as cheaply.
  22. The Yankee just trade a 19-year old pitching prospect in the Gulf Coast League and got the American League home run leader, Edwin Encarnacion from Seattle. Time for Falvine to get moving.
  23. Thanks. I tried several times to get it readable but without any luck (obviously).
  24. Watching Parker pitch is like playing golf with someone who takes a dozen practice swings, hovers over the ball for twenty seconds and then proceeds to hit the ball about 20 yards. Just throw the damn ball over the plate and quit twitching and grimacing. Geez!!!!!!! I feel much better now, thanks.
