  1. That was not the point of the post.... .250 puts him median in catchers BA. As for the rest, sure, it needs to be better....but really, saying a catcher that went 1-4 had a bad day seems off to me.....a rookie to boot.....but sure, no patience for a guy this site named player of the year one year in the minors....
  2. If Garver goes 1-4 all year, he's a catcher that hits .250. that would be a huge success compared to most catchers, especially for what is basically a first year player. What, exactly, do people expect?
  3. Bummer, whatever it is, it's a bummer. Some really good stuff here, thanks!
  4. I also enjoy this! thanks! I imagine Diaz won't be anywhere near the top 20 anymore.....go look at the SS signed that year, the good ones, the ones the Twins had A LOT of cap to sign that year....sigh.
  5. Or getting a job where he won't lose money.....but for baseball? Sure.
  6. you base your knowledge of his confidence on what? this fan base is brainwashed not to promote players fast, while the rest of the league gets younger and younger.....
  7. Whatever old, never good, veteran they can find is my guess.
  8. I really believe ownership picked the last manager....
  9. That seems like a tiny number over a decade.... If we are going back to Dozier and Gibson. This team doesn't have enough good players. Is that in dispute?
  10. Sure we do, and that missed the point entirely. This team has failed to develop star players, even those in the top ten in protect lists. It signs old veterans, rather than promote relief pitchers, it's not good enough at the main job of a team. Every other team is getting younger, this team is not.
  11. Still waiting for a superstar for the twins to work out.... Seems like plenty of other top prospects are, all across the league. Bummer.
  12. Let's all remember, Ryan didn't think Palka would hit either. This is surprising. But a good manager wouldn't have Grossman in the field late, or ever. A good front office would probably not have him on the roster, if they have as many other candidates available. Imho. I do not understand their unwillingness to use young inexperienced relief pitchers, like much of the rest of the league, in a rotation with Rochester. Still waiting to be impressed by the front office.....
  13. Aren't they more likely to be in it, if he pitches in July? If not, does it matter they saved him?
  14. The Veducci effect is bunk. Awful bunk, which has been shown to be bunk when you actually look at data. Seriously, bunk.
  15. This. The 40 man can't be a restraint to moving guys up if the front office refuses to promote guys in the 40 man because they aren't good enough. I hate this move. So many teams are getting younger, this team just keeps getting older. Leadership? Mentor? This team is filled with veterans.
  16. I've been typing that first sentence since they spent real money on a DH/1B only prospect. On the other hand....all Wade does is get on base. Still can't figure out how he was in AA again this year. As for Gordon, he's 22 and hasn't been in AAA all that long....maybe should have started in AAA this year, maybe not. Still not even the slightest worried about him.
  17. Hope is ok for fans, but I hope the front office is more realistic and has a good plan.
  18. Fangraphs has Lanarch 4th for hte Twins, as I expected: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-updated-top-131-prospect-rankings/
  19. Maybe Stewart throws stuff that is hard to square? Maybe? I still hold out some hope for him. Jay is the one I'm really confused on......he can't get out AA hitters, and lots and lots of people said he could maybe be in the bullpen day 1....We always knew Stewart would need time....
