  1. Jay's too high. he's 24 and can't get out AA hitters as a RP. Awful pick, and not in hindsight. Stewart? I have no idea, but it's possible he's one of those guys that induces soft contact....we can hope. I have no idea why Jorge was cut, or whatever, even after clearing waivers. must be something....though I always figured he had to move to RP sooner rather than later.
  2. trying to distract you from being frustrated by the actual team, I'd guess. consider it a feature!
  3. i think it is the pitchers....but the FO has to make it clear that they don't get to decide, and that they want them to give Garver more of a chance......
  4. It's hard to be impressed, given the Belisle decision, and their refusal to use the AAA RP shuttle plan. But, they get 1 more year from me before I really start deciding.....but ya, the results aren't stellar so far.
  5. to be clear, I want Rooker in AAA....I don't know if I care if he's in MN this year, unless the clubhouse gets cleaned out..... btw, KLAW said in his chat today that wanting Lewis in high A was impatience, which was odd because two answers above this he said we are seeing more younger players come up and succeed.....
  6. I think Cave has a shot at a long career as a backup OF....and he should be playing every day until Buxton is back.
  7. No good FA catchers out there.....indeed, the list of difference maker FA is quite small....
  8. No one is suggesting trading Mauer.....and, top 100 prospects make the show way more often than "20%" of the time, that was my point.....so do top 200 prospects, and probably top 300 prospects. So, that 80% fail number you posted didn't take into account the type of prospect they will get back in trade. IMO, of course.
  9. So, bring back the same team, but without Mauer and Dozier? I don't understand how people think that will work.
  10. Closing in on giving up on this front office. Their unwillingness to use the young players in a lost season hurts my brain, a lot.
  11. I don't agree. Maybe they get guys in AA that will be up later next year. But I do think going from 90 losses this year to serious contender next year is unlikely......
  12. How so? those guys are here beyond next year. I think they've given up on this year (good move), and probably next year (likely realistic, but meaning they don't use the money on Machado.....and likely pocket a lot).
  13. very bummed the Rockies are falling, because he's the perfect "buy low" guy.....
  14. I'd see if Colorado would bite on Gibson, any RP they want, and Dozier or Escobar for Jon Gray. I'd even throw in a SP from the minors if needed. Go big. If not something like that (which might not be realistic).....I'd try for A+ or AA guys right now. Then be aggressive with them. Philly, Washington, the Dodgers and Brewers and Cubs would be my targets. I'll post some targets later, pretty sure I am about to eat....
  15. The Twins are likely to finish with around 90 losses, do you really think they are a contender next year? Without Dozier and Mauer? I don't.
  16. I'd hope we trust the front office not to trade for guys ranked around 500th.... How do people think this team competes, if it won't trade impending free agents? This team is not a serious contender next year. Imo
  17. Valuable? They won't even call up the RP taking up space in place of the old, bad, veterans in the pen. So, why do they need the space? But sure, don't promote Lewis or Rooker yet. The rest of the league is getting younger...
  18. They build that solid core by trading players for more players. Like Houston did. Absolutely trade him, unless you are signing Machado and trading for a catcher. So, yes, trade him.
