  1. Can't trade for next year's money. But you can for this year's. I don't know who is left. KLAW recently answered my question about Gibson by saying he thought they could compete next year, so he would hold him. I would deal him for the right package. As for his worth? He's projected to be better than any brewer starter the rest of the year. I'd easily deal Lynn, odorrizi, Rodney, Duke, Santana.
  2. I've gone in and out.....really don't know what to do there. So, no? Sort of? It's a hard one to pin down for me.
  3. No rookies to speak of, no second year players hardly....and terrible veterans and players that just never play. I agree. They are giving us neither a present day product, nor a look at a future product.
  4. Why is Morrison coming back? It's time to move on.
  5. Why would he turn it down? Take 18 million, then sign a two year deal after that. That's way more money than he'll get on a three year deal this year. Not even close, imo
  6. Sure, but you can trade him and likely do that. I am truly surprised anyone would pay him 18 million for one year, especially for a year that had a low shot at being a playoff year.
  7. Kind of surprised, actually. I am encouraged.
  8. Escobar is not turning down the QO. He can take that, and then get a "meh" contract in a year, and make way more money combined. In the mean time, the Twins get nothing other than one more year of a guy that should be a utility player on a good team.....I can't see how that's a good investment of limited budgetary dollars. But, I guess I could be wrong, and he's a legit MLB starter on a good team.
  9. Or they changed their mind, or who knows.....
  10. I sympathize with this stance, but have a different priority. Neither of us is wrong, btw....just have different interests.
  11. What if it isn't to open up space for Gordon, but to get lucky and get a good player? I mean, what is the point in keeping them, assuming they aren't catching CLE.
  12. i'm hoping he's the Robert Smith of MLB, and now will be healthy and great.....
  13. defense counts. If it didn't, no one would be talking about how Buxton can be good even w/o hitting much. And no, I'm not saying Kepler is like Buxton on defense, but then, they aren't comparable on offense either....
  14. If your option is to keep EE and then let him go in FA, or offer him 18MM next year.....or trade him for a guy further away than you want, I trade him for a guy further away than I want. I doubt the option is to get a guy that will help in a meaningful way next year.
  15. No chance none of those guys get to MN this year.....that is part of what AAA is for. The AAA roster is bad because the last FO didn't get enough talent in the pipeline....and this FO probably can't fix it this fast.
  16. I want a high level prospect, way more than I want someone that will be here next year. Getting someone that is both would be great, but unlikely.
  17. Well, they just bought a 30 year old OF for AAA, so I'm assuming it is all fixed now......so glad they added a 30 YO OF to AAA.....
  18. Weinshie 1:17 Have you had a look at Alex Kirilloff yet? If so, your thoughts. Keith Law 1:17 Yes. He's on the top 50 today, linked up top.
  19. Kepler will put up around 2 WAR this year.....and is league median for RF. Has he been great? No. Is he bad? Not even close.
  20. Kepler will put up around 2 WAR this year.....and is league median for RF. Has he been great? No. Is he bad? Not even close.
  21. While I am sympathetic to those that don't want to watch a team with even more holes in the second half this year.....I would trade him (and try to sign him as a FA). I don't believe this team is a contender this year, and he's a FA to be. Add talent to the system while you can. Trying to win 80 instead of 78 games or whatever isn't going to help this team.
  22. My guess also, but I don't know....but that seems likely to me. Jeffers moving up soon, we think? Seems like it is time at this point. Kiriloff sure looks good this year. Imagine how well he'd be playing had he not missed a year!
