  1. Terrible signing. Said so at the time....check out some of his classmates.....
  2. if they promote some younger players, and if the MOY plays them....I'm with you.
  3. Should really open room for Wade to come up also, and take Grossman's place, imo.
  4. yup. I would want ot have the best chance for a healthy brain as possible.
  5. but why are we looking at RISP and only RISP? I don't understand..... Let's just look at his WAR, or his offense overall.....
  6. I too would like to see Wade up. Now that Buxton's season is probably over.....and it isn't like Wade is so young that losing a year of control matters (nor is he a superstar in the making). Ya, I'd call him up now.
  7. Too bad he bats at other times too. Like, this RISP discussion has what to do with whether he is valuable compared to other first baseman? OTOH, not sure they have a real alternative. I'd consider going a one year deal with him....
  8. Based on what they did this last offseason, increasing the budget to its highest level ever, and trading a prospect for Odo? I just don't agree with this take.
  9. I like Gordon, but even I'd keep him down for 2 months next year, unless he positively blows up this year....
  10. great post! I'd add Rooker and Gordon to this list.....given what might happen to their positions next year.....
  11. I'd retire too.....but some people just want to keep going.
  12. Another option is to move Kepler to 1B, and have Cave and Buxton and Rosario and whomever else in the OF......with Kepler and Sano being able to play OF and 3B and DH, in addition to first. Gives them a ton of flexibility.
  13. Agreed. I just don't want to be sitting here next year, with a sub .500 team, wondering what they could ahve got for Gibson this year.....I want to be buyers next year!
  14. Well, they learned, and dealt Pressley this year......just hoping Gibson (and really, the team) don't do the same thing next year....
  15. heh, no, that was all about Dozier and his "appreciation" of the FO and their moves.
  16. I just Buxton and Gordon were part of that moving on this year......but neither looks like a MLB hitter right now. Hopefully next year. Motter or Petit or Forsythe staying on the team?
  17. I'm not sour graping at all......I just don't find it funny. Some of what people thought they'd get for these guys, otoh..... Actually, I think they had a good deadline, but I would have probably kept Dozier at that price. IF, however, there are clubhouse reasons for the move, then I'm more ok with it.
  18. I had no issues with pinch hitting at that spot, and I'm a development first guy. I just hope Byron gets healthy again. Then hits some again. For his sake more than ours.
  19. They spend a lot on SS in the IFA market....heck, they just traded for more budget, and signed the number 9 ranked guy.......
  20. Pinch hit for in a AAA game. Sigh. but Stewart, he's going to pitch in the majors.
  21. No one else will be traded. IMO. And, continue to count me as a Garver believer.
  22. Much bigger fan of the pitcher than hitter, though who knows....they could get lucky.
