  1. If they think he's a catcher, absolutely (though I'm not in the QO is good club).
  2. Not sure what this means. I'm sure they are discussing other things.....but if someone wanted Duke, and you could get anything? I'd probably do that.
  3. Move DeJong to relief! He'll never be a starter here, given the minors here
  4. They aren't trading him for less than what I'm typing, imo......so that's the price. I don't think they deal part of next year (a key part) for less than that. I could be wrong.....but I could be right. I doubt we won't find out in the next 24 hours....
  5. Not one top 100 guy? I, hmmm, I don't even know how to respond to that. I'd be shocked if he returned less than 2, or one high one and two more guys near the top 100. Shocked.
  6. Certainly need a top 30 type, and another in the top 100, and then another high upside guy. Need A LOT to trade Gibson at this point.
  7. I don't know how smart Molitor is......and I hope you are right that he'd do that. given how he handles the team, I don't have as much confidence as you.
  8. Where and how often, are both Sano and Escobar in the lineup going forward (if Esco was here)? Who is Molitor benching to get them both on the field at the same time? Polanco? Mauer? Morrison (we could only hope)? Dozier? I do agree with others, Sano is still down if this doesn't happen, and it is possible (likely) that for this year, Esobar is better (wow, that sucks). I do agree on the RP trade, but I'd call that a pretty soft sell so far.....maybe they should call up May to replace him. Or pitch Mejia in relief. Or Odorizzi?
  9. Agreed, big delta there. I'm still not convinced they sold this year, it's all about Sano now (well, in re the Escobar trade).
  10. I know I'd move more starters in the minors to the bullpen faster than this org has......Taylor Rodgers being an obvious recent example. That's an area I'd have liked to see explored more earlier this year. IF the manager would, you know, let them pitch. And, imo, Cave should have been up sooner too, but they finally got that one right (not that he's great, but he's better than Grossman, if you include defense, and maybe even just offense). Trevor May should be here, in MN, as a RP right now. One of the new prospects they got could be a RP in a year or two, but he's much further away as a starter, from what I read.
  11. given my opinion of all those players, except Dozier.....it might not bad for this year.....
  12. I agree with that first sentence in teh last paragraph. But, the ONLY thing I didn't want was fence straddling, though.
  13. My side? I said pick a side, either trade for more MLB talent, or trade off impending FAs. My only "side" was not to sit in the middle.
  14. That part was about the board as a whole...I should have been more clear. They didn't turn anything around. They played Baltimore and Kansas City..... Baltimore is historically bad. I really think people are ignoring that, when looking at the recent record.
  15. Mlb put one new guy at eleven, and one at fifteen, with the others all in the top thirty. It made the system better. Did it give them a future mlb player? We don't know yet, but it increased the odds.
  16. As for the trend .... They played a historically bad team four games, and a team on a sixty win pace six....I think context it's important here.
  17. They blew it up? They traded an impending free agent, who until this year was a utility infielder. Who, if Sano had been good, would have been a utility infielder again when Polanco returned. They traded a relief pitcher, who is good, but not awesome. Coming into the year, they spent the most money they ever have. They plugged the holes they had with free agents. They were certainly in win now mode. The anger is so strong, I am defending the front office..... Think about that....
  18. I'd argue they haven't won since the trade because they were playing a far superior team....
  19. Disagree. They spent the most they ever have, supplementing a playoff team. In no way did they do anything other than try to win this last off season. The players failed.
  20. why? Escobar has no starting position with Sano back.....and Pressley is a RP. Sure, I wouldn't be surprised if he is traded, but I don't see how trading those two players is punting this season like others do.
  21. I haven't read anyone say Gordon is ready, or as good right now, that he can be plugged in. And, there is zero reason they can't sign him in the off season, if they offer the most or near most money, if he really likes MN.......they have more money to play with next year than they can possibly spend. As for not extending him before, I'm not sure when you'd extend a utility infielder for a number he would take. You'd have to get awfully lucky to guess he'd hit this well, imo. That said, it is frustrating to have them sell off a player, but if Sano hits when he comes back, he won't play much this year anyway (unless they bench their DH or something).
  22. ? CLE already traded Mejia.....unless they have another one.
  23. If Sano comes back, and they don't trade Dozier.....won't that be likely anyway? Where does Escobar play when Sano comes back? I just don't see this as throwing in the towel on the year.
