  1. Today for the Twins, Dallas Keuchel will be dissected one more time, and Pittsburgh runs out a bullpen game. lineups to come. Go Twins!
  2. To start, I feel like Buxton can be worked into big league games an inning or two at a time. Late in games they are winning big. Ramp him up that way. By the end of September he can be playing full games.
  3. Honest question: would you rehab Buxton in St Paul? Gladden seemed to say Buxton should be sent out, too St Paul or the Ft Myers complex, but I don’t think I agree. What say you?
  4. I heard the radio guys talking about Buxton has been doing some significant work in center field, for his return. So that’s a big thing to keep an eye out for soon. I shake my damn head, but only because the 7 dimensional chess plan to have him ready for the postseason may be coming to fruition. 🙃 Another angle to that is Michael Taylor is kind of growing on me, in a good way.
  5. It was 3) Castro to IL. I think we all expect today will be Keuchel’s last start, good bad or indifferent. Ryan is already back with the Twins to throw his next bullpen and will apparently come back off the IL when his turn is up again. DFA’ing Luplow seems like a not difficult thing to do. Same with optioning Sands/Winder. However, I missed this new Correa injury, unless people are just responding to another bad streak at the plate.
  6. Tigers may move into second place soon. The Tigers message to the Twins:
  7. I do think the young A-Rod wins shortstop, hands down. Things that came later in his career kind of worked against him. Here would be my infield, if I were to prioritize recency, and defense over offense: 3B Arenado SS Vizquel 2B Alomar 1B …. drum roll …. Dougie baseball never saw him miss a single scoop.
  8. They brought up Kirilloff to debut in the 2020 playoffs, so it wouldn't be coming out of nowhere if Lee made his debut in 2023. However, the Twins have a nice lineup right now, hitting better and making better contact, so unless things go downhill fast at some point, it would surprise me.
  9. I would guess 2015? I'm not sure but I think that was the last time Baltimore was good.
  10. Yeah but haven't you ever rolled the dice? Just think of the possibilities! Wild card round, down 1 game to 0, up by a run in game 2, season on the line, Pagan out to pitch the 8th with the manager's and the entire front office's jobs on the line? Much more drama that way 🙂
  11. I kind of like the mentality of a guy who gives up a bunch of runs and loses the game night after night, and then still has the cojones to say he belongs in the all star game. 🙂
  12. You think that Martin could play shortstop next year for the Twins, or could play shortstop even this year for the Twins if his elbow issues are cleared up?
  13. Twins distilling fear, and serving it in its purest form
  14. Cory Provus and Kris Atteberry pretending not to know why Philly fans are booing Carlos Correa. I don’t know, man. I know Gladden says stuff he doesn’t believe just to play the game. Maybe that’s was what that was. Why even go there, though.
  15. People talk about the easy schedule. I don't see it. The good news is they don't have to go on a heater or anything like that, just survive that Cle-Texas stretch & should be ok
  16. Well that was most recent but unfortunate, but I am counting at least 4 Twins Daily writers, including some honchos, who wrote similar priase (and i will stop counting)
  17. fewer and better stories, editorial direction, etc
  18. I like the comparison. Correa is playing at the level of Simmons or Adrianza this season. That’s basically it. Easily understandable that way. It is relevant because Correa failed a physical this offseason and there is a hole in his swing developing.
  19. Provus said during the broadcast, when they were only a run down, that he felt like the Twins should chase the win anyway and line up Thielbar, Jax, and Duran to keep the game close. Provus might have been right. So I’d say Rocco’s ‘feel for the game’ or lack thereof is still something that will need to be overcome if the Twins are going to make any noise later.
  20. I have no problem with Lopez, but instead of Arraez, maybe they should have traded Lewis or Lee. They might have gotten some better additional pieces that way. Julien is a great hitter in the making, but no, Julien is not on Arraez’s level. Arraez has been at this for years, while Julien hasn’t had his proverbial second trip through the league yet.
  21. I guessed Turner, Correa, Bogaerts, but most people are probably already aware that some top shortstops are struggling this year after the free agency carousel last offseason. I like the historical comparison better.
  22. This is all nice, water cooler talk, like you said. Like I said at the top, I have no idea what Falvey’s vision for this team is. It has surely changed since they were hired on and selected Royce Lewis number 1 overall to be a cornerstone of the franchise. I agree with you about the Correa signing. It could spell their fate or cement their legacy. I have trouble following the prospect talk on this board sometimes. Minor leaguers who have good games are rightly headlined each night, but I think it makes the prospect pool sound better than it really is. Player X dominates one night, player Y steamrolls the next night, and the overall effect on readers is that the farm system is full of players who dominate and steamroll the competition night after night. I don’t see it. Particularly with the pitching, I just don’t see it. No one will care about the front office when the postseason begins. It will be all about the game, players and fans, at that point. 🙂
