  1. I recall Molitor saying on a broadcast this summer that Martin could profile as a centerfielder or second baseman, though maybe not as a full time everyday starter. Or if he was full time at those positions, not quite at league average, maybe. I think Molitor liked him better in center. But now my memory starts to fail me. But something like that.
  2. The article mentions the Astros having mediocre pitching, but I don’t know why it doesn’t mention the injuries. They lost one solid starter to TJ this year and another starter has struggled all year with shoulder issues. Plus it’s unfortunate another guy, McCullers, can never stay healthy. But with Verlander and Valdez to anchor them, they could fill in the other rotation spots or have a bullpen or back to back type of game and still go far. It’s s similar situation to the Twins with Lopez and Gray, and then hoping the other guys step up. Houston has the class factor and the high expectations too. They will not be an easy out.
  3. I also think Texas would be the best matchup overall. A matchup against Houston would be bad news for the Twins, in my opinion. Maeda pitched well against Seattle this year if people remember. Maybe Ryan or Ober matchup better against one of the other teams. Fun to be talking about this 🙂
  4. People talk about playing multiple sports being healthier for your muscles. Keep in mind, Hrbek was also a two-sport athlete. Baseball and duck hunting…
  5. I actually think Lewis took a bad step running out his ball in the 3rd.
  6. I doubt you listen to the radio broadcast. Provus and Gladden have been talking about Lewis being hurt since that double play, amazed he was left in the game.
  7. Radio guys saying Lewis is hurt
  8. Damn. Did not hear that. Sounds like a ball during infield practice got under his foot and rolled it over ☹️
  9. 3 of 10 in difficulty, 10 out of 10 in style points
  10. Wow, talk about big jumps, on that double steal
  11. (Bud/s 234 Navy SEALS show from 2000)
  12. Much more obscure reference, but I will put it out there anyway
  13. Well that had to have been 100mph +
  14. I kind of like Maeda and his junky junkiness. Reminds me of the old proverbial crafty lefty. it makes me nervous in a potential Game 3 but the other guys kinda make me nervous too
  15. Im’a let you in on a secret, just between you and me,, you are actually quite awesome
  16. And that awkward half-stride, my friends, is why some baseball players dive headfirst into first base. Better that Royce shortened his stride than lengthened it
  17. The answer the judges were looking for was “Yes”, but will accept “Probably”
  18. Is that an observation on the game situation, or a follow up on Chief’s joke? 🙂
  19. Yeah Target field would be fuller than this
  20. Are you talking about the short foul pop up that Polanco hit that landed on the dirt in front of the third base dugout that Encarnacion-Strand couldn’t get to because he was shifted way over at the shortstop position?
