  1. I think Vazquez found it in a store in Fort Myers and thought it looked stupid enough for a HR celebration.
  2. No. If players aren't healthy enough to play baseball without getting immediately reinjured playing baseball, then they should have never come off the IL in the first place. You can't have someone come off the IL and say - "He's fine, except for running. Don't make him run".
  3. I think his window closed when Lewis and Castro returned. Lewis is going to take the DH spot and Castro is going to play more in the outfield. If he's patient and healthy, the window will open again.
  4. If he wasn't healthy enough to play baseball (including running the bases) then he shouldn't have been taken off the IL.
  5. I am rooting for him to get to play in the All-Star Game in Atlanta.
  6. Willi Castro is a much better baseball player than Dashawn Keirsey. Castro went 1 for 3 with a walk which means Castro reached base as many times last night as Keirsey has the entire season. Starting Castro was the better decision before the game started and proven correct with game results. That's the priority for the Saints, not for the Twins. Priority for the Twins is winning baseball games.
  7. They needed a bat more than they needed an infielder. They were starting Mickey Gasper at DH regularly and Clemens got a start in the outfield. If your analysis is correct, then there isn't any room for Wallner when he returns. He'll have to wait in AAA until an injury opens up a spot in the outfield.
  8. It's a symptom of trying to be an 85 win team every year. That means your draft position is not that great and you never deal vets for prospects at the deadline.
  9. Those guys are waiver wire talent. They can be replaced at any time with someone else off the waiver wire.
  10. I don't think that's McCusker in the photo. If I'm the GM, I'm showcasing veterans until they get traded. McCusker can come up once I start dealing some of them off. I'm throwing in the towel on 2025.
  11. Wallner was really good before he was injured. I don't understand how a guy with a 137 OPS+ gets lumped in with Christian Vazquez. Max Kepler isn't hitting as well as Wallner.
  12. He hasn't done anything in the at-bats he has been given to show he deserves more. The Twins don't exist to make DaShawn Keirsey happy.
  13. Those pitchers threw slower and had to rely on hitting spots and good defense. Do you think pitch-to-contact is a good strategy with the current Twins defense?
  14. I think they could regress to the mean and play .500 baseball in June or July. Unfortunately I think they'll be 8-10 games under .500 because of April and May. They haven't played any of the first place teams besides Detroit.
  15. All three free agents (Bader, Coulombe, France) have provided good value. That makes it even more frustrating that several returning players have flopped.
  16. I don't. This is a veterans-for-prospects deadline.
  17. I expect to see Bader, Castro, and France dealt. Kody Clemens might be needed as a warm body to finish the season.
  18. And injured himself slipping on the ice at his home. Playing DH isn't going to prevent that one.
  19. Do you mean when he was a regular in AAA? Keirsey has shown nothing at all in the majors. He's done nothing to earn more playing time. He's had 43 plate appearances and barreled up one pitch.
  20. I doubt they will make Lewis DH all the time but he's going to get his fair share.
  21. If we have to wait until Wallner returns it will be too late. They'll have a record of 25-35 and the season will be over.
  22. Possible, but I'd rather they demote Gasper and Keirsey. Castro can fill in as a defensive substitute in the outfield if needed. Keirsey can't hit at all. They may prioritize keeping Bride and Clemens on the roster, so they have enough players to finish the season. I am betting we see several players dealt at the deadline.
  23. Olivar has caught 7, DH 7 and LF 5 games. Not a great ratio if they're trying to develop a catcher. Morales has not caught a game and only caught 5 last year. He's done catching.
  24. Player Name AAA career OPS Kody Clemens 838 DaShawn Keirsey 821 Mickey Gasper 944 The only guy I'm really interested in seeing is McCusker and I can wait. I think they are hoarding depth right now so there will still be enough players around to complete the season after the trade deadline. I think we'll be seeing plenty of Clemens, Keirsey, Gasper and McCusker from July to September. That's to say, be careful about wanting the AAA team promoted to the majors. I'm pretty sure you're going to get it and you won't like it better than what you're seeing right now.
