    I'm pretty sure I've heard Morneau talking about coaching his kids. Torii Hunter would be a great fit as a first base coach - no real in-game responsibilities besides keeping things loose and gathering equipment.

    I think Brooks Lee will become a better hitter. He was the lowest rated SS defensively in 2025. His athleticism gives him a ceiling of below average at SS. He’s a 3B playing out of position.

    Here's what I would keep Pitchers--Abel, Adams, Bradley, Festa, Funderburk, Laweryson, López, Matthews, Ober, Ohl, Raya, Ryan, Sands, Topa, Woods Richardson (15 pitchers). Catchers--Jeffers, Pereda Infielders--Clemens, Keaschall, Lee, Lewis Outfielders--Buxton, Martin, Roden, Rodriguez, Wallner (11 position players) Here's what they are likely to add: Pitchers: Connor Prielipp, Andrew Morris, Kendry Rojas, CJ Culpepper (4) Position players: Gabriel Gonzalez, Hendry Mendez, Kalai Rosario, Kyler Fedko (4) There's 6 spots left for Schobel, Klein, Olivar, Cardenas, Hidalgo and any free agents they would want to sign They will want to add a SS, C, 1B and a couple relievers in free agency. I think there's a spot for Fedko and Rosario, but that does give them 9 outfielders on the 40-man without adding Walker Jenkins (who will debut next season). That's why Larnach and Outman both need to go. 12 outfielders, 6 infielders and 2 catchers on a 40-man roster all of 2026 would be malpractice. 8/9/3 would be better. At least one starting pitcher will get dealt. Ryan/Lopez/Woods Richardson/Ober/Bradley/Abel/Matthews is too many. I would try to find Bailey Ober a new team.

    I think they'll keep Topa. It will be hard to find a better reliever for $2M. They should dump Julien and Outman, there will be better talent available for nothing.

    Are all of the managers in the playoffs bilingual?

    Why would the Twins be the only team running up $500M in debt? The Pirates have all the same disadvantages as the Twins and they don't claim to have that much debt. Average MLB revenue is $430M per team. With a $140M payroll that leaves $250M to run operations even if they're 10% below league average in revenue. Are the Twins running more expensive operations than the Braves?

    I don't believe this for a minute. Where is the money going? They have run payrolls every season far below what the league gives them in revenue sharing. They would have to be the most mismanaged team in professional sports to run up that much debt out of operating budgets. I think it is far more likely that the Twins are taking out loans from Northmarq (their other business) to move money from one set of books to the other.

    If Correa has a .785 OPS before the trade, the Twins might not have had to eat $30M.

    The biggest problem they need the new manager to fix is their poor defensive fundamentals. A team with Byron Buxton in CF shouldn't end up with the worst rated defense in the league.

    I don't think it helped Rocco that Carlos Correa started hitting as soon as he left. Did he have a good roster? No. Did he get the most out of it? No.

    League batting average is .245. A majority of players can't hit .250. Do you really think that over half the players in MLB have no business being on an MLB roster? That's nonsensical.

    Lee 527 Larnach 503 (due to defensive value) France 387 (the guy who lost his job to Clemens) Julien 208 Vazquez 214 (but he's a catcher, if you want to throw him out, fine) Gasper 110 Outman 104 Keirsey Jr 88 Bride 80 Miranda 36 McCusker 30 That's 2073 PA if I don't include Vazquez.

    Maybe a few hundred PA to players worse than Julien and most of those were emergency injury replacements from AAA. He's a platoon DH with a 630 OPS. That's not a player worth having on any roster. The Twins did give over 2000 plate appearances to players worse than career-average performing Kody Clemens. He's a bench player on a bad team, but the Twins are definitely a bad team. They don't have the immediate talent to replace Clemens from within, and they won't spend the money to replace him in free agency. If they cut him, he will find major league playing time elsewhere.

    The real answer to that is Brooks Lee. If they want a 90 loss season, make Brooks Lee the everyday SS again.

    If they're willing to play Culpepper every day at SS, then I hope they make that move right away and use Brooks Lee as a utility player instead. I don't see Culpepper making the Twins until June at the earliest. They will want to see success at the AAA level before promoting him. Assume Culpepper is not currently in the plans for next season. Since there were several thousand MLB plate appearances given to players worse than Clemens this season, I will respectfully disagree. The Twins alone gave over 2000 plate appearances to players worse than Kody Clemens.

    If Keaschall spends most of 2026 on the injured list like he did in 2025, then Kody will get a bunch of playing time at 2B.

    Clemens has more power and a LOT better defense. I will take the player with the 670 OPS and good defense over the player with the 630 OPS and terrible defense. They're not really close to being the same player. Julien is noticeably worse. That's why he was a full 2 WAR worse this season. Clemens may not deserve a spot on a championship-level MLB team, but Julien doesn't deserve a spot on ANY MLB team.

    Julien is never going to be able to play defense as well as Kody Clemens.

    I really enjoyed TwinsTV this season where I could pay a flat fee to watch all the games. Now we're in the playoffs and the Wild Card games are on ESPN - which I don't have. The next round is on TBS - which I might have depending on whether HBO MAX decides to show the games (sometimes they do, sometimes they don't). Other games are split between FOX/FS1 which is a weird combo platter of obviously having the game and not having the game (does FS1 even have a streaming option?) but not knowing which games will be on FOX until a day ahead of time. I'm assuming FOX will not preempt NFL or college football to show playoff baseball games. It is a lot less exciting to follow playoff baseball when I'm looking at the prospect of a playoff game here and there until the World Series starts. I know fragmenting the playoffs across multiple networks makes the league the most money but it's a pain in the ass for baseball fans.
