  1. Detroit should have some payroll room to add at the deadline if needed.
  2. Yes. That's the obvious move. Even in limited playing time he has a -0.8 WAR. They can't hide his deficiencies well enough to keep him on the roster.
  3. I don't want to see a minor league report for every team or even a game recap for every team (keep those on the individual sites), but articles like the one analyzing Correa's swing should have appeal to a broader audience. I was looking up the Fangraphs data on Ty France's ranking among 1B and I said to myself "Who the hell is Jonathan Aranda?". I would read the "Who the hell is Jonathan Aranda?" article. I'd read an article about how well (or not well) Altuve has adjusted to LF. Stuff like that.
  4. Interesting that TwinsDaily is creating sister sites for other teams. I am not particularly interested in those, but I would be interested in an MLB aggregated site for the other teams in baseball that takes the best articles from each team and curates them. We lost a lot when Baseball Think Factory shut down.
  5. Miranda has done a great job this season justifying that lack of faith. He has a 523 OPS in hitter-friendly St. Paul.
  6. France isn't much worse in his positional rankings than other Twins are at their positions. 2B and 3B rank worse. SS and DH are about the same as France. The outfield (Buxton, Bader, Wallner) looks good and Jeffers is a good catcher.
  7. Looking at Fangraphs - he's 24th in offense among 1B and 10th in defense for an overall ranking of 21. Similar 1B include Luis Arraez, Carlos Santana, Nathaniel Lowe, Jake Burger and Rowdy Tellez.
  8. He's been fine, about as expected. I thought it was better to give the playing time to Jose Miranda or Julien but Miranda has been awful this year, even at AAA and Julien has been below replacement value. Signing Ty France to be the everyday 1B is more about the opportunity lost than the production gained.
  9. Doubtful he goes to AAA. More like a way to get him time off from pitching to protect his arm.
  10. It guarantees the team always has good weather conditions. It's silly to rank a team as having bad weather when they have a roof they can use.
  11. Marlins, Brewers, Rangers, Braves, Astros, Mariners, Jays, Diamondbacks but NOT the Rays this season.
  12. If they had built a stadium with a roof on it, we would already be hearing about how that makes the team uncompetitive, and we need a new stadium without a roof so they can draw fans.
  13. I don't think so. If the weather allows them to start the 2nd game then it allows them to finish the first game.
  14. Buxton's ISO OBP is 50 points, Wallner's is 90 points. In the minors, McCusker was around 60 points, closer to Buxton than Wallner.
  15. It's all about his strikeout rate and batting average. He could hit anywhere from .180 to .290. Byron Buxton actually has a similar power/strikeout profile. Buxton has a tad more speed to his game which helps him stretch doubles to triples.
  16. Someone who can hit lousy AAA pitching. Nobody should expect him to hit .350 in MLB. Fortunately, he has enough power to be a positive contributor with a .240 average. That's basically Randal Grichuk or Jorge Soler.
  17. The Twins are likely to get 2 years of Topa and $5M in salary relief for Polanco, who was nearly unplayable in 2024. That's mostly nothing for nothing.
  18. What Polanco does in 2025 is completely unrelated to the trade. The Mariners declined the club option and Polanco became a free agent. That ended their side of the ledger after the 2024 season.
  19. He's 26 and just finally holding his own in Double-A. An all-bat prospect needs 1000 OPS in the minors and he's at 823. If he does make it, it will probably be a very short MLB career.
  20. They have a 13 game winning streak. Nobody could expect Duran to pitch in 13 consecutive games with a lead. Necessity means opportunities will be spread out.
  21. Kody Clemens now has the highest OPS on the team (min 35 plate appearances). Jeffers has enjoyed hitting against Milwaukee. The Brewers are a fun team to watch. They're fast, play great defense and play hard.
  22. I'm pretty sure this 12 game win streak means Rocco keeps his job at least until the end of the season.
  23. Or next year, or the year after that. If he's optioned at any time between now and 2027 he has to stay in the minors for 15 days which costs him a year of service time.
