  1. Nice to see a Topa sighting. He's pitched really well for someone who seems to be completely buried on the depth chart.
  2. Paddack is the pitcher to trade this season. If the Orioles are the trade partner, I'd be okay with Paddack for Mountcastle. Mountcastle has had a bad season so far, but I don't think there is any reason to doubt his career numbers. He has an extra year of team control and Paddack is a free agent.
  3. The Twins are awful at signing international free agent pitchers. They haven't had good IFA signings since Bill Smith signed Sano, Kepler and Polanco.
  4. I think they're planning for a July roster that no longer has Bader, Castro or France.
  5. If he's off the IL, then all the restrictions have to be off. There is no point to having an injured player on the AAA roster. He can take BP, rehab and even play in simulated games in Fort Myers until he's ready to actually play in a game. If he can't sprint, he stays on the IL. It's not like he's gutting it out to try to help the big-league team (like Buxton did). Why would they risk re-injury to have Martin play games that don't matter for the Saints? I sure as hell hope the restrictions are off for Royce Lewis. He has trouble staying healthy when he's actually healthy. Do you want the Twins to risk a career-ending injury because they insisted he plays hurt?
  6. The whole idea behind replacement players is they're pretty easy to obtain. Having a lot of bad players isn't helpful. If you need one in a pinch you pay another team cash to obtain one.
  7. I think Vazquez found it in a store in Fort Myers and thought it looked stupid enough for a HR celebration.
  8. No. If players aren't healthy enough to play baseball without getting immediately reinjured playing baseball, then they should have never come off the IL in the first place. You can't have someone come off the IL and say - "He's fine, except for running. Don't make him run".
  9. I think his window closed when Lewis and Castro returned. Lewis is going to take the DH spot and Castro is going to play more in the outfield. If he's patient and healthy, the window will open again.
  10. If he wasn't healthy enough to play baseball (including running the bases) then he shouldn't have been taken off the IL.
  11. I am rooting for him to get to play in the All-Star Game in Atlanta.
  12. Willi Castro is a much better baseball player than Dashawn Keirsey. Castro went 1 for 3 with a walk which means Castro reached base as many times last night as Keirsey has the entire season. Starting Castro was the better decision before the game started and proven correct with game results. That's the priority for the Saints, not for the Twins. Priority for the Twins is winning baseball games.
  13. They needed a bat more than they needed an infielder. They were starting Mickey Gasper at DH regularly and Clemens got a start in the outfield. If your analysis is correct, then there isn't any room for Wallner when he returns. He'll have to wait in AAA until an injury opens up a spot in the outfield.
  14. It's a symptom of trying to be an 85 win team every year. That means your draft position is not that great and you never deal vets for prospects at the deadline.
  15. Those guys are waiver wire talent. They can be replaced at any time with someone else off the waiver wire.
  16. I don't think that's McCusker in the photo. If I'm the GM, I'm showcasing veterans until they get traded. McCusker can come up once I start dealing some of them off. I'm throwing in the towel on 2025.
  17. Wallner was really good before he was injured. I don't understand how a guy with a 137 OPS+ gets lumped in with Christian Vazquez. Max Kepler isn't hitting as well as Wallner.
  18. He hasn't done anything in the at-bats he has been given to show he deserves more. The Twins don't exist to make DaShawn Keirsey happy.
  19. Those pitchers threw slower and had to rely on hitting spots and good defense. Do you think pitch-to-contact is a good strategy with the current Twins defense?
  20. I think they could regress to the mean and play .500 baseball in June or July. Unfortunately I think they'll be 8-10 games under .500 because of April and May. They haven't played any of the first place teams besides Detroit.
