    They probably don't have any infielders who would immediately be better than Clemens left in the minors. If you bring up an actual prospect before it is necessary then you clog up your offseason 40 man roster or risk losing the player to another organization in the future. They need a stopgap for a few days.

    Plus DaShawn Keirsey. One of them is going to be in the lineup every day because the DH spot is open. Clemens and Bride make a weird platoon where both players have better career stats against same-handed pitching.

    There's only a couple healthy position players on the 40 man roster: Jair Camargo and Emmanuel Rodriguez (Edit: he's day-to-day with a hand injury). No wonder they just traded for Kody Clemens.

    Carlos Correa finally hit the ball HARD tonight. He looked like himself again. Buxton looks like he wants to head home to Atlanta for the All-Star Game.

    Do you want the Dodgers and Yankees to be able to hoard the 30 best players they can pay instead of just hoarding the best 26 players they can pay? That's over 100 extra players who aren't available to the team at the bottom of the standings. Do you want 15 (or more) pitchers on the roster so your starters go 3-4 innings routinely? Roster limits help the worst teams get better because the top teams can't hoard all of the talent.

    I don't think they need to dump Paddack for nothing, but they need to trade him before he injures himself again. Don't wait until the deadline.

    Most of the good teams are pretty close to the budget number they want for this year. Adding $37M to the budget is not going to happen. They're going to require the Twins to take a contract in return. Most of the good teams also already have a SS better than Correa.

    Yes. The pension alone is worth it. Every minor leaguer should be striving to get 43 days on an MLB roster to get the minimum pension.

    Any problems you have outlined can be solved by raising the minimum salary. You don't need to get cute with waiver claim bonuses or extra housing. Just raise wages. The MLB minimum should be closer to $1M.

    After that start, Festa has the highest WAR of any pitcher on the roster. 3 runs allowed in 13 innings.

    Like most players signed as pure free agents, Correa has a net negative future value. They could trade him for another team's overpriced free agent but a deal for top young prospects is a pipe dream.

    This is true. Correa can't drive the ball at the moment. So much weak contact.

    There is always an article asking "What will the team do when everyone is healthy?" but I don't remember a time when that has happened.

    Keaschall has been getting great jumps. He's fast enough but that's not all of it.

    This is how the Twins train their pitchers in the minor leagues. Throw 75 pitches and you're done for the night. It's inevitable that this is the result in the majors.

    Remember his lousy .514 OPS in the first half last year? That would be a huge improvement over his current OPS of .318. He's projecting to between -1.5 and -3 WAR for the season. That's crazy bad for a half-time player. His statcast page says he's doing a great job of squaring up the ball, and his hard hit % is awful with no bat speed and no power. He's an incredibly slow slap-hitter. He should bunt every time there is a runner on base ahead of him to avoid the double play.

    I think someone else is bound to get hurt by the time Lewis returns. Ultimately the guy Lee needs to beat out on the roster is Ty France. France has been pretty much what you would expect - OPS+ in the 90s and blah defensively. Either Lee or Lewis can move to 1B. I don't think it's too high of a bar to say Lee needs to be as good as Ty France to keep a spot in the major leagues.
