  1. Lee and Keaschall are on the big league team. Does that count?
  2. I would have bet against this week happening
  3. Ober and Ryan are already under team control through the ages you would want to keep them.
  4. Does anyone here still think Bader was a bad signing because we already had DaShawn Keirsey and Austin Martin?
  5. I am going to guess that is the best game Paddack has pitched in a Twins uniform.
  6. He's coming off a base of $4M this season, so two years of arb will probably cost $17M. I wouldn't pay him $53M for 3 seasons after that and I doubt anyone else will either - that's $17.6M a season. That would make him one of the top 5 highest paid relievers in baseball. I would offer $13M for one season of free agency at age 30 - 3 years $30M guaranteed. He gets life changing money now and gets to be a free agent at age 30. He's never made much money, this is his first contract above the league minimum and he got a tiny $65k signing bonus.
  7. Mickey Gasper has close to the same number of PAs in MLB/AAA. He has an OPS of .488 in MLB and 1.474 in AAA. Either he's not that good, or he's not that bad.
  8. They didn't trade Berrios with this much control remaining.
  9. The fun part of players with negative trade value on one year contract is they gain in trade value as the season progresses. Once there is only $4M left on that contract he'll look pretty good to any team with a hole in their rotation. Trading Paddack opens up a spot for Festa and I think he's a better pitcher. An article that examines which teams meet that criteria would be far more interesting than this article.
  10. That explains why the Twins have so much hitting. Also explains why league OPS is 700.
  11. I wouldn't trade or extend Ober. Keep him until he's a free agent and give him the QO.
  12. In about a month, they wouldn't. They'll be considering only vets for prospects trades if they're still 10 games back at the deadline. Right now, they're desperate for starting pitchers and might still think they have a chance. Regardless, the Twins should sell Paddack to somebody. Joe Ryan shouldn't go anywhere.
  13. Good time to reward him with a long-term contract extension.
  14. Nice to see a Topa sighting. He's pitched really well for someone who seems to be completely buried on the depth chart.
  15. Paddack is the pitcher to trade this season. If the Orioles are the trade partner, I'd be okay with Paddack for Mountcastle. Mountcastle has had a bad season so far, but I don't think there is any reason to doubt his career numbers. He has an extra year of team control and Paddack is a free agent.
  16. The Twins are awful at signing international free agent pitchers. They haven't had good IFA signings since Bill Smith signed Sano, Kepler and Polanco.
  17. I think they're planning for a July roster that no longer has Bader, Castro or France.
  18. If he's off the IL, then all the restrictions have to be off. There is no point to having an injured player on the AAA roster. He can take BP, rehab and even play in simulated games in Fort Myers until he's ready to actually play in a game. If he can't sprint, he stays on the IL. It's not like he's gutting it out to try to help the big-league team (like Buxton did). Why would they risk re-injury to have Martin play games that don't matter for the Saints? I sure as hell hope the restrictions are off for Royce Lewis. He has trouble staying healthy when he's actually healthy. Do you want the Twins to risk a career-ending injury because they insisted he plays hurt?
  19. The whole idea behind replacement players is they're pretty easy to obtain. Having a lot of bad players isn't helpful. If you need one in a pinch you pay another team cash to obtain one.
