  1. I clicked through, selected my players but there is no way in hell I'm giving them my contact information so they can sign me up for another mailing list.
  2. It's great to see that his adjustments have paid off and unlocked the power that was always there. Can he field his position? It's going to be really hard for him to make the 26-man roster as a pure DH.
  3. I will go on record that I'm against using eyeblack as makeup. It is odd seeing all the makeup MLB players wear on the field now. None of this is helping to cut down on the glare from the sun. It's probably making the sun even worse. I also think it's funny that an account called "Dozier's Glorious Hair" might be protesting a bit too much. There might be a need for some introspection.
  4. They'll have little choice but to play a bunch of rookies. I'd guess they trade away 6-8 players at the deadline.
  5. The Twins are convinced that having a reliever sit for half an inning and go back in the game dramatically increases their chance of injury. You're not going to change their minds.
  6. You're right that it is meaningless. There is probably nothing in the universe less meaningful than fans ranking minor league baseball players. It's also harmless fun. Not everything has to have some deep meaning.
  7. A piggyback means you're spending two starters on one game. That means you have to find two starters worth the innings instead of one, and you have to pitch with a shorthanded bullpen with for the other 4 games in the rotation. You're making it less likely you win with one of the other 4 starting pitchers to try to maximize your worst pitcher in the rotation.
  8. Wentz has a job to sit on the bench and wait for a blowout. The Twins want Adams to get more regular work.
  9. Wentz is not good enough to last several innings against MLB batters. He is a pitch-to-contact lefty with little swing and miss. He's here to soak up innings as the long reliever. For that role, he's as good as their AAA options.
  10. Seems like a reasonable assessment. France has been a surprisingly good defender at 1B, considering his past performance there.
  11. Eeles has a 561 OPS in AAA. He is not in MLB because he hasn't earned it.
  12. Makes no sense to sit one of your starters just because you needed to add an injury replacement from AAA.
  13. League minimum on a non-guaranteed minor league contract is his market value. His OPS+ has gone from 99 in the season before he signed as a free agent, to 64, 60 and now 50. I would expect him to be even worse at the plate next season. Signing Vazquez would be a missed opportunity to bring in a catcher who can contribute.
  14. If he played defense as well as Keirsey he'd have the job. The Twins are going with Bader, Buxton and Castro in the OF vs LHP. Do you think McCusker will be better than Bader, Buxton or Castro? Jeffers has been the DH with Vazquez catching when there is a LH SP. Do you think McCusker is a better DH than Jeffers? I think the answer to all of those is probably NO, so there is no role for McCusker.
  15. There is a lot of randomness to pitch framing, especially now as umpires are more aware of it. I'm not sure it is even a repeatable skill or if we're just measuring noise among players who are equally good at it. The pitcher also matters. To make framing effective, the pitcher needs to hit the mitt.
  16. They really hate Billy Amick
  17. I listened to the Reds broadcast on Sirius today. The opposing broadcast is always on option on the MLB radio app. Rather than being "long gone" this is easier to do now than ever before.
  18. Brock Stewart and Justin Topa could have more demand from teams than Ty France.
  19. He's going to be even worse next season, so please don't think about bringing him back.
  20. They should trade him if they get the right offer. If he can be brought back on a reasonable contract, they should do that when he's a free agent. He is sure to test the market.

  22. You're seeing Bride and Keirsey right now. Subtract France, Castro, Bader and Vazquez and you'll see even more of them. Adding Culpepper to the 40-man roster before he's ready would be dumb. Emmanuel Rodriguez is barely keeping his head above water in AAA. It's far more likely you see McCusker, Gasper, Miranda and Julien as they finish out the season.
