  1. Paddack may not have been giving up runs, but the outs were pretty loud. He only had 2 strikeouts. Rocco made the right move.
  2. Over the last 5 games he's 2 for 16 with 6 walks. That's an OBP of .363. Among qualified batters, Spencer Torkleson ranks 15th with a .362 OBP. What are your expectations for a leadoff hitter? Is a top 15 OBP not good enough?
  3. Jackson Holliday looks pretty good. He went 1-1. Maybe you just meant from players the Twins could have drafted. They got a haul in the 2022 draft - Connor Prielipp, Zebby Matthews, Andrew Morris, Cory Lewis and CJ Culpepper.
  4. Castro's gone long-term. Miranda is out of options after this year so he'll be a backup or gone. I like a bench of Bride, Castro and Julien.
  5. On the radio broadcast they mentioned that Bride was eager to have MN help tweak his swing. It seems to have paid off..
  6. Check the Twins/MLB app Keaschall out 2 months (60 Day IL if they need a spot). Wallner out at least 3 more weeks. Castro about a week. Lewis back for the Orioles series.
  7. Watching a sports draft is like watching someone do their taxes.
  8. What makes those guys "our own" players instead of Bride and Clemens? They were only signed a few months ago. They're on the roster because the Saints need players at every position in order to play baseball games. No organization has 100 prospects to fill all the levels of the minor leagues.
  9. Not when they have Gasper. They could have brought up McCusker for a week. However, if they had done that, they would be one injury away from needing Clemens.
  10. Ty France is a bench player. I'm not sure if there would be any dropoff at all if Bride had to play 1B for a couple weeks. Last season Bride was notably better than France.
  11. So you're telling the front office how to do their job when you don't even know if McCusker can field grounders. Got it.
  12. You seem certain he can field grounders. Most players who struggle fielding flyballs have an even harder time with infield grounders.
  13. I think they prefer Bride to McCusker in the short term.
  14. Can he at least get luke-warm and start hitting like the game's mediocre first basemen?
  15. They probably don't have any infielders who would immediately be better than Clemens left in the minors. If you bring up an actual prospect before it is necessary then you clog up your offseason 40 man roster or risk losing the player to another organization in the future. They need a stopgap for a few days.
  16. Since this comment, Lee is 7 for 15. His average is now .278.
  17. I appreciate why they went and got Clemens, but they need a bat. I think I would have gone with McCusker.
  18. Plus DaShawn Keirsey. One of them is going to be in the lineup every day because the DH spot is open. Clemens and Bride make a weird platoon where both players have better career stats against same-handed pitching.
  19. There's only a couple healthy position players on the 40 man roster: Jair Camargo and Emmanuel Rodriguez (Edit: he's day-to-day with a hand injury). No wonder they just traded for Kody Clemens.
  20. Carlos Correa finally hit the ball HARD tonight. He looked like himself again. Buxton looks like he wants to head home to Atlanta for the All-Star Game.
  21. Do you want the Dodgers and Yankees to be able to hoard the 30 best players they can pay instead of just hoarding the best 26 players they can pay? That's over 100 extra players who aren't available to the team at the bottom of the standings. Do you want 15 (or more) pitchers on the roster so your starters go 3-4 innings routinely? Roster limits help the worst teams get better because the top teams can't hoard all of the talent.
