  1. Kody Clemens would get 80% of the playing time in that platoon. You'd be seeing if Sabato had what it takes to be a short-side platoon 1B playing against LHP. That's more than people expected from Sabato last season, but I think you really want to find out if he can play every day. The slow players care about winning, too. Christian Vazquez is trying to win, he just can't hit anymore. Desire isn't measured in foot speed.
  2. IMO - the failure to extend Jeffers and Duran has been one of the biggest problems with the current front office.
  3. This only makes sense if the Twins acquire two other MLB-ready catchers.
  4. Yes, but it is important to remember that there is no "book" on Sabato yet. Nobody has paid much attention to him because he's been mostly lousy before this season. He will also face challenges when teams find a weakness.
  5. Batters on the team with a lower OPS than Wallner Correa, Lee, Lewis, Vazquez, Keirsey, Jeffers, France but, by all means, let's make Wallner the scapegoat.
  6. Is one of them Dashawn Keirsey? No, you said 100 AB cutoff. Keirsey doesn't have 100 AB for his career yet. Hopefully he'll never get there. Throwing out two base stealers today was pretty huge. That isn't something that happens every game, though.
  7. Sounds like Ryan is the next man up when someone drops out. If he pitches Saturday he should have no trouble throwing an inning on Tuesday and getting ready for a game on the following Friday.
  8. Have you not seen him wearing a back brace in the dugout? There was a story about how it takes hours before the game to get his feet into playing shape.
  9. Is Sabato already ahead of Miranda on the orgainzational 1B depth chart? If not, he will be soon. Danny DeAndrade is one of the youngest players for the Kernels. Good to see him performing well.
  10. Polanco was signed as a free agent by the Mariners this offseason. His 2025 performance is completely irrelevant to the trade. The Twins traded away one season of Polanco to the Mariners. He put up a 651 OPS for $11.25M.
  11. Can he play defense? That will make all the difference for the timing of his debut.
  12. Austin Martin has hit .323/.389/.452 since he came back from injury and no errors in the field while rotating between LF, CF and 2B.
  13. He will decline it. Mutual options are almost never exercised by both parties.
  14. He doesn't have to put up many more starts like that and he'll get a shot. They might go to him the next time through the rotation. Better make it quick though, Zebby could be back by the end of the month.
  15. I think someone you receive in trade would probably be on the 40-man roster.
  16. I wouldn't say it was a super exciting game to watch but Bader had a great day. I was reminded again that Brock Stewart doesn't hold baserunners. It's sad, but I think I miss Kody Clemens in the lineup. He's a better 2B than Castro.
  17. No Twins last night so I watched the Saints game. Eeles is still fun to watch. He puts the ball in play well and runs well. He clearly doesn't have the arm to play CF in the big leagues. He's 2B/LF and emergency SS if he's in the majors. Lewis is very over the top, which makes his fastball kind of flat. He had a few good knucklers that the catcher couldn't even handle. I wonder if his knuckler would be more effective if it was a little slower. It has action more like a palm-ball. Baker had a totally different arm angle - he throws more sidearm than 3/4 - but not much better results. Julien is the same passive batter, watching a not-very-close pitch for strike three with a full count and runners on second and third with two out. Sabato has continued his good season at AAA. That HR was a no-doubter. Gwinnett has an odd ballpark - surrounded by apartment buildings. It feels like you're in the commons in the university dorms.
