    What's truly crazy about this is most contending teams have TWO players on the roster who can play SS - the starter and the utility infield backup. The Twins have ZERO and expect to contend. Also, you can put together a mediocre pitch-to-contact bullpen if you put a good defense behind them. The Twins are pairing a blah bullpen with bad defense which means they're going to lose a lot in the late innings.

    Royce has worked his way up to MLB average at 3B. The minor league prospects offer some hope in the outfield but they need to dump Larnach and DH Wallner. Keaschall will be below average at 2B, Brooks Lee will be bad at SS, Bell will be bad at 1B. Kody Clemens is their best fielder on the right side of the infield but he doesn't have the arm for SS. His glove might get him in the lineup every day.

    I've been pretty consistently saying this all winter long. They don't have a SS on the 40-man roster. Their pessimistic take on Culpepper is worse than I expected, so that's depressing. When other teams were snapping up minor league free agent SS in November the Twins stood idly by. Their only move was to add Arcia - objectively the worst SS in MLB last season. My worst fear is that Zoll doesn't believe they have a problem - which would mean this doesn't get solved until he gets fired. They're going to need to trade some of their starting pitching for a SS.

    Royce is better at 3rd than Brooks. Brooks Lee has the glove for 1B.

    Goldschmidt and Andujar each signed for $4M. Hoskins and Lowe are still unsigned. It looks like the Twins paid at least $3M too much for Bell.

    Lowe, Goldschmidt and Hoskins are all still available. The Twins are going to regret paying a premium to lock Bell up early.

    The public is not paying attention to Tom Pohlad when they buy tickets. There are plenty of other, better sources of information.

    Back in the 1980s Roger Craig made a living teaching every pitcher the splitter. Then a few arms got shredded and it became an off-limits pitch. The Japanese pitchers get some credit for bringing the splitter back into the league.

    6) Find a utility infielder who can play SS off waivers 7) Find a RHRP off waivers. That's all I expect. The Twins only make acquisitions off the waiver wire. They're currently paralyzed when it comes to trading.

    How does that work, actually. If I buy a ticket, I can give it away to someone if I'm not using it. Can I buy a Twins Pass and give away the entries to the games I can't attend?

    Every GM should always trade a "pretty good AAA guy" for an actual major leaguer.

    Twins games are no longer something I prioritize and schedule other things around, so these offers are of little value to me. I'm much more likely to check prices on StubHub if I happen to have an open weekend.

    I appreciate them spelling out all the stipulations so I don't have to click through on the website and find out it's a waste of my time.

    Simple - he's not "one of us" and he was the return for "one of us". People are going to hate him just because he was part of the Varland trade.

    Jeremy Zoll got the job because he already works for the Twins. They didn't look around and see if anyone better was available. They fired Falvey and promoted the guy Falvey elevated to the GM job. They should absolutely do a search for a new POBO and should probably look for someone with a proven track record rather than hiring an up-and-comer. It is unlikely Tom Pohlad knows how to identify baseball front office talent. Can they afford Brandon Gomes of the Dodgers or would he make less money as the Twins POBO? If not, they might be able to poach Kingston or Slater.

    From what I saw, Zebby was great at hitting the corners in 2024 but lacked velocity which meant everything got fouled off. He added velocity in 2025 but started missing the corners, leaving the ball over the plate while also increasing his walks. If he can combine the added velocity with the excellent location he showed earlier he can make it even without adding spin.

    9 deep in the rotation, zero deep at SS and negative two deep in the bullpen.

    To really contend they will need the next wave of talent to arrive early.

    Bradley is younger than many of the "prospect" pitchers including Connor Prielipp, David Festa and Zebby Matthews. He is basically the same age as Mick Abel. Bradley has had more success (1.7 WAR season in 2024) than most of those pitchers. He's the pitcher who is too young to give up on.

    It is truly unfair that the Dodgers are giving players $1.2M contracts to stack their AAA team.
