  1. Nice to see both Morris and Prelipp getting some good results. Hopefully Morris can keep it up and join Zebby as our top pitching prospects. I'm not ready to give up on Festa either. St Paul has a real good looking roster. No clue why the twins decided on a third catcher in Camargo and Diego Castillo to get called up. How about Keirsey, Severino or anyone else that might have some upside?
  2. Hopefully he can give us some competitive at bats and at least average defense until the team gets healthy again. If we can get Royce, Lee, Miranda, Correa and Buxton all healthy and producing.....we should be able to catch Cleveland. Of course that also depends on our pitching not falling apart, which is a real possibility:(
  3. We're going to need to field our best players and do whatever it takes to win as many as we can against the Guardians. That means get everyone healthy and not sit any of our stars those days. If we can win the division we'd be in a much better position than just taking the second wildcard spot.
  4. I still don't understand Raya being ranked so high on prospect lists. He seems like a pitcher destined for the bullpen who can't seem to find the strike zone and gives up more hits than innings pitched. Josh Winder also looks cooked which is too bad. Mathews and Keaschal on the other hand, have been great to follow this year.
  5. As far as our infield goes, I think they need to put either Miranda or Lewis at 1b with the other playing 3rd. An infield of Miranda at 1st, Lee at 2nd, Correa at SS and Lewis at 3rd. Julien can backup and platoon 1b/3rd and Castro or Martin can backup up the middle. Santana will be gone after this year so putting one of Lewis or Miranda at first might be the only way to get all their bats in the lineup at once.
  6. Twins just need to get everyone healthy first. Then, keep them healthy for the playoffs. Also, when we play our games against the Guardians, Rocco better not decide it's the perfect time to give random days off to Buxton, Miranda, Correa and Lewis. We won't win those must win games running out a lineup of Vasquez, Margot and Farmer....
  7. Would love for them to grab some pitching, lefties in particular. Not holding my breathe for any major moves though. They'll mostly roll with what they have, saying we have enough talent coming off the IL in the second half. This is probably true for the lineup if we get everyone back and they stay healthy. The pitching however, I don't think will be enough
  8. Raya starting tomorrow. What's the over under on innings pitched? 2, maybe 3? I really think they need to stretch him out to see if he can be a starter still. If not, trade him while he's still at least listed as a starter and somehow still a top prospect.
  9. I don't know, do we need another 4-5 type starter. Seems a bit redundant, he's got similar numbers to Paddack. I do love the fact he's a lefty, and he's controllable forever. But, because of his years of control we're going to have to give up a decent piece and I just don't think we should be trading away assets except to UPGRADE the rotation.
  10. Both these guys should help with the playoffs push. Prefer Flaherty over Kikuchi, but both could take the rotation spot of Paddack down the stretch so we could stick him in the bullpen like last year. Of course that plan depends on the rotation staying healthy the rest of the way. Twins are one or two injuries away from starting Festa Dobnak or Boushley...
  11. I see a sad trend in these lists. Incredibly productive when healthy, but injuries have piled up year after year and affected overall numbers...:(
  12. What really matters at the end of the day are ACTUAL numbers. He's been ok,not great. He's still young though, he'll be fine. My biggest worry is health. This team seems to have a really hard time keeping their stars and prospects on the field....
  13. True, we'd most likely have to package Kepler with one or two other prospects. I just figured he'd be one of the most expendable since his contract is up and we have Wallner, Larnach, Castro, Martin, Keirsey, E-Rod....
  14. I think Raya is way too high based off his workload and performance so far. I say Zebby is our top pitching prospect. He has outperformed Festa and everyone else completely. I'm not too high on Gonzalez yet either, id like to see him start hitting more before putting him in top ten. Keaschal should be right up there with Lee and Rodriguez.
  15. I think the only players we should be looking for to trade from the major league level would be Kepler, Margot, Farmer, Vasquez, Theilbar, Okert and Funderburk. Problem is, aside from Kepler, none of these guys have any real value. Meaning we would have to trade from our minor league talent and prospects. I'd say if we can package Julien with some other prospects like Festa or Raya to get a starting pitcher then we should do it.
  16. I don't like it. Even if Julien may be blocked at 2nd base, they could give him reps at 1b too. Trading a controllable infielder with great bat control who has been much better lately for an aging reliever would be a terrible idea. If we do trade Julien, it should be him as part of s package of prospects to get a solid starting pitcher
  17. Hopefully Twins are able to sign most of these guys and then have them do well. You never really know, so hopefully we get lucky. Drafting guys and having them turn into productive, cheap and controllable MLB players is the only way this team will ever win a world series. They'll never have the money to go out and buy superstars so we need to create some of our own, like with Royce Lewis, Buxton and Miranda. Hopefully we can add Zebby to that list soon too. Would be nice to have an all-star type home grown ace on our team for once:)
  18. Both Keaschal and Mathews seem like the real deal. Those two, plus Jenkins, Lee and Emmanuel Rodriguez should be off limits. Everyone else is fair game. If we can find a controllable TOR starting pitcher and/or a high impact lefty reliever we should pull the trigger and use some of our other prospects. A lot of them are positionally blocked anyways. Severino, Kiriloff, Larnach, Gabriel Gonzalez, Festa, Raya, Soto.... We have more than enough talent to put together a good prospect package.
  19. Zebby has earned his promotion. I say keep him in the AAA rotation, let him get his innings in and then compete for a job next year out of spring training. If he's going to be our long term starter, why mess with his timing and routine by putting him in the bullpen for a month later this year. If we need another relief arm I'd say use Paddack, Varland or Festa. Now we just need to keep Zebby healthy. And NOT trade him. If we build a package to try to get a TOR starter, then start with Festa, Raya, Soto, Gabriel Gonzalez...
  20. I think we need a TOR starter. Like someone said above, we have five starting pitchers in our rotation now. Sure that's true, but I don't think Paddack or maybe even SWR should be starting playoff games. Our rotation now should be good enough to get us to the playoffs, but if we want to actually win a series, we'll need an ace or number 2 type starter. And a good lefty for the pen. If a team out there has a starter with control or a good lefty reliever, we should build a package around Festa, Raya, Gonzalez, maybe AK or Larnach.
  21. Super utility guys are becoming more and more important in the game, especially ones like Castro who can not just play multiple positions, but play them WELL. Glad he got an all-star nod, he's earned it:)
  22. Yea I mostly mean depth for future seasons with Zebby, Morris, Festa. This year we are one or two injuries from disaster, but I don't think it's worth trading top prospects for average to below average starters just to guard against injury. If we really want to win any playoff series this year I think we need one more quality starter and a high leverage lefty. We could then move Paddack to the pen, which in theory strengthen both the rotation and bullpen
  23. Hopefully Jenkins and Gonzalez can keep hitting and moving up the minor league ladder. E Rodriguez is the closest to the majors at AA and was on a tear, but this month plus injury has me worried. Hopefully he'll be back soon and pick up where we left off. With Kepler and Margot being gone next year, and Larnach not really looking like an everyday player, at bats will be up for grabs for all our outfielders.
  24. Sloppy looking little league game, but what can you expect when half your lineup is out. Margot should be nowhere near center field, or on the field anywhere imo. He needs to be replaced by Keirsey who is hitting over .300, stealing bases in bunches and playing great defense at all three outfield positions. If he doesn't stick, Martin and Castro can take over the OF. Either way, Margot and Farmer need to go. They're doing nothing but blocking younger, cheaper better players
  25. I'm guessing the Twins do very little at the deadline. I don't think they're a good enough team to warrant trading away top prospects for rentals players when a first round sweep looks likely. Now if we could find a way to get a starter with another year or two of control they should jump on it. I'm not getting my hopes up though. They are going with the plan of" we don't need to catch Cleveland, we can get in with a wildcard spot. And we don't need to make any outside additions because of all the talent we have that will be coming off the IL in the second half."
