Trevor Larnach Can Unlock a New Level
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Having both Larnach and Wallner hitting well makes it a little easier to whether a trade of Kepler. All three are lefties, although Kepler is a better defender than all of them. Not to mention we also have Keirsey playing real well in AAA who can play all three OF spots. Both Martin and Castro are decent defenders. Plus we have Em Rodriguez coming up... Good depth is a nice problem to have! We got some trade options if we want to go for a pitcher this year, which we should- 20 replies

I'd be all in on Eovaldi. I think the only way we bring on his contract is if we can find someone to take on Kepler, Farmer maybe Margot to open up some payroll ....would still rather have Crochet or Luzardo but either one of them is going to be extremely costly prospect wise.

I'd say trade Farmer for anything at all if we can, otherwise cut ties and be done. We've got enough infielders and if we need another one due to injury, Severino has a hot bat in AAA

Minnesota Could Save a Blue Jays Starter
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I think a solid lefty in the rotation could help in a number of ways. Same for a high leverage lefty reliever. I don't see the Twins spending or taking on any big contracts, but if we could get a decent starter and move Paddack to the bullpen I'd feel good about our pitching staff.- 110 replies

How about Staumont hitting 101mph? Still hasn't allowed an earned run this year:)

I really wish Canterino could get his health issues figured out. He has looked absolutely dominant at every level he's pitched at. Dude just can't stay on the field though. I believe we have him for two more years after this year, so there's still time, but it's running out...

I also like Martin and hope they don't send him down. On the other hand, he hardly ever plays. I'd like to see him over Margot any day. Same with Lee or Castro over Farmer. If we can get anything at all for them, even cash considerations, it would be worth it just for the roster spots.

Nice to see E Rodriguez back in action. If he keeps hitting like he did before the injury I could see a late season promotion to St Paul.

Astros' Resurgence Ruins a Reliever Reuinion
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Sure Presley would be nice, I just don't see the Twins taking on that type of contract. I expect one or two trades for relief help, hopefully a lefty. I'd really like a starter, but I think that's a bit of a pipe dream..- 11 replies

It was basically a formality since he has already been out 60 days. He just threw his second bullpen yesterday and I read if he feels good today, he'll be starting a rehab assignment next week. Same situation for Topa. Both these guys would be great to have in our bullpen. Especially Stewart, if he can pitch like he did before the injury. I'm not quite sure what to expect from Topa...

Anyone else a little worried about Walker Jenkins? It seems he's being used as a DH almost as much as he's playing the field. Is he still nursing the hamstring? Is it a different injury? His performance when he is on the field is nothing close to what it was last year. He's still young, hopefully the further he gets from the injury he'll start to have better at bats and figure things out

Mathews and Morris should start the year at AAA next year and possibly earn a call up at some point if they continue to have success. Both these guys should be untouchable at the trade deadline. I'd rather offer Raya or anyone in the lower minors like Soto, Lewis or Culpeper

We really need Pablo to start figuring things out, we need him in top form for our series' against the Guardians. I hate to keep ripping on Rocco but man, WHY send Winder out for that second inning? Even I knew he looked cooked. And even worse, you pinch hit for a guy who has TEN STRAIGHT HITS? Said he wanted to get him off his feet...he was DH'ing today! Really wish we had a real manager with some common sense.

Scott or Garcia would be great. We should be getting Stewart and Topa back soon so we're set on righties. All we need is a solid lefty to replace Theilbar or Funderburk and our bullpen is in good shape

I know Margot had a decent June, but I still say it's long past due we try to trade him for whatever we can get or DFA him. His defense is not even good enough to rely on, he's made way too many errors as a glove first fourth outfielder. Give his roster spot to Wallner or Keirsey. No reason to keep Margot around anymore,he's a liability.

I'd take Cruz for sure. Good strikeout reliever for real cheap with years of control. Miller would be a great weapon to have, but not at the cost of gutting our farm system. I think we need a good lefty more than anything. I know Aroldis Chapman's having a down year, but he still could be good for us down the stretch. Definitely an improvement over Theilbar or Funderburk.

I don't think we need any more position players. Our guys are hitting great and we have solid hitters in AAA ready to go. What we need is pitching. Both a starter and one or two relievers. With Stewart and Topa going on a rehab assignment next week, we probably won't buy too much. I'm hoping for at the very least a solid lefty for our pen.

Twins Minor League Report (7/4): Fireworks on the Fourth
LambchoP replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Man, it sure looks like Varland is cooked as a starter. Long past due to stick him in the bullpen and see if his stuff plays up like it did last year. Anyone know why or how Varland was able to come back out to pitch in the second inning when he was relieved in the first inning? Or did I read that wrong? Either way, move Louie to the pen ASAP...- 23 replies

Ober and Pablo have been stellar last few starts. If we could only swing s trade for one more playoff caliber starter I think we'll be legit contenders!

I like the Tyler Anderson move. If not him, have Estevez as a fall back. He'd be a good late inning guy for us.

Zebby and Morris are both pitching like they want a rotation spot with the Twins. If they can continue to pitch well they could very well earn a September call up to AAA. Then if they can start there next year and pitch well, we could be seeing them in the bigs September of 25 or possibly making the team out of spring training in 26:)
