    Fighting for a top draft pick this year and at least next year. We may just be competing with the WSOX and Rockies for worst record in baseball next year....

    It sure looks like our "pitching pipeline" is in real trouble. Just about every one of our upper level arms is having a terrible year. Raya, Morris, Adams, Festa, Abel, Bradley. These were guys who were supposed to be close to helping out in the rotation. Looking through our arms I see Prelipp and CJ Culpeper having a successful season. Other than that everyone is getting shelled and walking a batter per inning. Next year will be interesting that's for sure.

    Bright spot, seriously? To me he just looks like another Keirsey. The guy can play good defense, he's got some good speed. Problem is he can't hit. K's way too much. Sure, he has raked in the minors last few years, but never able to translate that to MLB success. We've seen this with Gasper too. Him and Outman are not viable major leaguers and it is very confusing as to why Falvey acquired them in the first place when seemingly every OF we have is already LH? Maybe he was hoping Roden would hit enough to where they would feel comfortable dumping Larnach or Wallner. I was all for letting Outman play out the year everyday after Roden went down. With something like a 45 percent K rate, I'd rather see Martin out there. See if he can be a viable 4rth OF.

    I wonder what I and of offensive help we can get from trading Lopez? I would hate to lose him, but paying an ace 20 million a year on a last place team just doesn't make sense. Now keeping Ryan and attempting to build a rotation around him does make sense. Falvey needs to clear the dead weight on this team though. Clear up the 40 man roster spots for upcoming prospects and free agents. Gasper should be nowhere near a major league team. Same with Outman, Roden, Wallner, Julien, Miranda. I'd rather see a new young "core" get called up and develop together in the majors.

    He should be. Would much rather see what Fedko can do in the majors than watching Outman or Wallner flailing away up there with no plan at all ... seriously, why in the hell would we intentionally acquire Outman and Roden? Both LH OF's who we already have too many of, plus they can't hit! Sure they can play good defense but we already have Keirsey who can do the same thing. Fast, good D, but can't even hit his own weight....

    It is clear the team needs to shake up the lineup and position player side of things. Maybe (hopefully) we can acquire some young, athletic, MLB ready or near MLB ready position players if or when we trade Lopez Ryan or Ober. Of course I don't have much confidence in our front office to get the right type of trade return after this year's underwhelming fire sale. In the OF we've got some guys getting close. Jenkins, Fedko, Rodriguez, Gonzalez and Rosario. Add in Martin as a backup. With Buxton in CF, we just need a couple of these guys to pan out and then we can dump our dead weight like Roden, Outman, Wallner and Larnach. In the IF it's clear we need an everyday 1b and we have no viable players coming up in the minors. We need to acquire someone real either through trade or less likely, free agency. Clemens could be backup for first and in RF but I don't think he'll hit enough to give him the everyday job. 2nd should be set with Keaschal. Lee can play a decent SS but I don't think his bat will ever be more than avg. Lewis seems totally lost right now. If he can find his swing and power again, great. If not, that's one more hole we need to fill. Culpeper and Eels look like middle IF guys who can help, but we need to find some talent from outside the organization. 2026 should be one long spring training, figuring out who we have, where they can play and who has a future with the team. At least we'll get to see some debuts and a bunch of kids playing hard trying to earn a full-time job and pay raise. Gonna be some growing pains, especially on the pitching side :(

    I think they should let him play out the season in St Paul. Give him an invite to major league spring training to see how he does against better talent. Start the year in AAA and if/when he forces the issue, call him up. I'd do the same with Fedko. Once it looks like Jenkins, Fedko, Rodriguez, Gonzalez or Rosario start to look like they're ready for MLB, we can finally move on from Wallner and Larnach.

    Ryan is cheap for a SP. This is the type of players you build a rotation around. As much as I'd love to keep Pablo to mentor all our young pitchers, with his high contract I expect he'll be gone. Maybe we can get a solid MLB ready bat out of the trade. Someone who can hit like a true 1b should? A starting corner IF and a MLB ready pitcher could help in the long run....seeing the returns from the trade deadline I'm not too encouraged on what we might get for Lopez :(

    Seems like we have the same problem with most of our young pitching prospects. Plenty of stuff and strikeout potential, but no command. Walking way too many hitters and racking up high pitch counts resulting in short starts. Twins need to figure out who can be a starter and who should be a reliever. I expect a lot of piggyback starts the rest of the year. Hatch has been a surprise. Let's see if he can keep it up. Outman and his 45 percent K rate is not a long term solution. Send him to AAA and give someone who has actually earned playing time a chance, like Fedko. Gasper should be nowhere near a major league roster either.

    CJ Culpeper has looked really good this year. Dadan Hill has some real strikeout potential. Seemingly all our top pitching prospects have the same issue of command and control though. Seems like the same kind of lines every day. 3-4 innings pitched. 3-5 BB's with a few K's. I know this is typical with young arms but guys like Mathews, Festa, SWR, and Abel have all had MLB experience. We've got to find a way to harness their stuff better because walking 10 or more batters per game is not going to be sustainable.

    With Lopez and probably Ryan likely being traded, all our young arms will get opportunity to prove they can stick in the rotation. I expect a lot of piggyback starts while they try to find out who can go deep enough into games and who gets sent to the pen.

    The kid needs to stay healthy and show he can play a full season worth of games. I say give him a month of AAA at bats this year and see how he does. Invite him to major league spring training and see how he does against MLB pitchers. Most likely he starts 2026 in St Paul. If he proves he's healthy and is producing, there will be plenty of at bats available in the bigs. With Jenkins, Keaschal, Rodriguez, Gonzalez, Fedko and Culpeper all getting close to MLB ready, it could be real fun watching these kids debut and fighting for a contract. Even if half of them work out, help is on the way. Now we need to find some real pitching...

    Ok can we call up Fedko now? The kids gonna have a 30-30 season with a great BA. Plus, he's a RH hitting OF. Outman has shown absolutely nothing at the plate. A 45 percent K rate is laughable. Send him down and give Fedko a big league audition for next year. Pitching wise, let's dump some of these waiver wire veterans who we know are not going to be on the team next year and see what we have in some of our own pitchers. With Lopez and SWR, plus Able and Bradley making starts soon, we could try guys like Ohl, Adams, Raya and Morris in the pen. We are going to need to rebuild our relief corps from scratch, why not get an idea of who fits where right now in a lost season where nothing is at stake?

    They need to clear some dead weight from the OF. Wallner's power is intriguing, but he strikes out way too much and you can't justify a .200 BA for an everyday player. Larnach has looked a bit better at the plate but is terrible defensively. Maybe if he can learn first base he could be a platoon option. Both Roden and Outman may be good defensively, but it is clear they cannot hit. And they're both LH hitters. J We already have Keirsey who is basically the same player. I'd give CF to Buck, LF to Martin and sign a RH OF bat to platoon with Larnach in RF. Everyone else can go. Hopefully guys like Gonzalez, E Rodriguez, Rosario and Jenkins aren't too far away.

    Rojas may need to be moved to a relief role next year. Either way he has to get his command under control. Ryan Gallagher, who is much less heralded of a prospect seems to be having a good season. Abel has also been solid with the Saints. If we can get Bradley to start pitching with some consistency we may actually have a bit of a pitching pipeline going. As long as we don't trade away Lopez Ryan and or Ober,,,,which we probably will:(

    I would say Buxton is the only lock for our 26 OF. Wallner and Larnach are too inconsistent and are not good defensively, plus they are both LH making both of them redundant. Not sure Martin will hit enough. Why not give Fedko an audition this year. Maybe we get lucky and he's the RH OF bat we need. Plays good D, hits for power and steals bases. Sounds exactly like what we need. Give him a chance, what have we got to lose?

    It's hard not to be excited about all the young talent at the top levels of our minor leagues. We just need them all to stay healthy and hope our major league coaches don't screw them up by trying to alter their swings or try to make them all into utility players rather than learn and play one or two positions well...

    This exactly. Might as well try out Fedko and Outman everyday. Larnach and Wallner are what they are. It's redundant to have both on the roster. In the IF give guys like Sabato and Eeles an audition. Clemens and Lewis are not playing well at all . Call up some of the young SP and let them try out there stuff against big league hitters. Guys like Erasmo and Hatch aren't going to be here next year, why not give innings to arms that are actually part of our long term plans. At least auditioning some of the kids for next year would make watching the rest of the season halfway entertaining.

    This Fedko kid is having a monster year! I've heard people say he won't work out because he was never a "top prospect" and he's already too old. The kids only 25,! He bats RH which is exactly what we need on the MLB club. Maybe if he plays good enough corner OF and his bat translates to the majors, he could replace the big slow K prone lefties we have out there now. At least until Jenkins, E Rodriguez and Rosario are ready .... I'd also like to see Eeles get a call up. I know he hasn't been hitting for much power this year, but he makes contact and can steal bases. We are trying to get more athletic, seems like the exact guy we want. With Lewis struggling at the plate basically all year, I think we are going to need both a first baseman and a third baseman backup plan if Lewis sucks again next year. Pitching wise, why the heck are we doing these bs bullpen games when we just picked up like 4 minor league SP at the deadline. Let's see what we have in Abel, Bradley and Rojas. At least until Lopez, SWR and Festa are back. I also wouldn't mind trying out some of our younger SP in the pen. Raya, Morris, Prelipp. We're going to need to completely rebuild our bullpen and using some of our minor league SP could be a good start.

    With Abel, Bradley, Rojas and Gallagher, along with our guys already in the system, I think we should be ok as far as starting pitching goes, as long as we don't trade away anyone. We should also be able to fill some reliever spots with some of these SP who don't seem to do well after 2-3 innings. I think our lineup needs a true shake up. Need a first baseman who can hit, some defensive athletic infielders to backup Lee and Lewis. In the OF I think Wallner and Larnach have hit their peak and we could stand to upgrade our there. Roden and Outman are not going to be the answer. We've got some solid talent coming soon with Jenkins, ERod, Culpeper, Gonzalez, Fedko. Until they are ready, let's audition some of our younger guys that are fighting for a spot. Martin, Eeles, Sabato etc. wouldn't mind auditioning some of our pitchers for pen spots next year too. See how guys like Raya, Morris and our new guys do.

    Are the Twins under direct orders to intentionally lose at all costs in order to get a top draft pick, because it sure looks this way. We are throwing guys like Ohl, Adams, and a scrap heap of a bullpen out to slaughter and going with "bullpen games" when we just acquired multiple SP at the deadline who have been pitching well. Pitching nonsense aside, we are also putting guys like Gasper in the lineup. Why not play some of our own young guys,call up prospects, audition guys for next year and see what we have. Sure looks like the teams given up and are trying to lose without making it too obvious. I'm tired of watching our pitchers throw a routine play away by chucking the ball into the stands. Watching our washed up waiver wire relief pitchers do what they do, having our "core hitters" come up in big spots to either strike out on 3 pitches, or watch the ball right down the middle multiple times for strike 3. I think I'm done this year.....can only watch this so many times :(

    What is the point of trading for 2 more LH hitting outfielders who K a ton and can't hit?

    Also, Outman should get a shot with the big league club. It's pretty clear Roden can't hit big league pitching. He's also another LH OF. With his thumb Injury, they should see if Outman can give them anything and get a look at whether or not he could have a role with the team next year. Gasper clearly needs to go to. Guy can't hit, can't bunt, can't throw out base stealers and his defense sucks. Give innings to some of our younger catchers. Might as well audition a few to see if any have a shot at the backup catcher role next year or if we need to sign one in FA.

    Hopefully Abel has a strong outing tonight. Rather than 2 spots of the Twins' rotation going to "bullpen" games, they should be giving starts to some of the upcoming young SP arms they are going to eventually be forced to rely on. Guys like Abel and Bradley. Getting some MLB innings under their belts and possibly auditioning for a SP role next year. Our rotation could have some complications to it in 2026. If nobody is traded away, we could be looking at a decent SP crop. 1 - Lopez 2 - Ryan 3 - Ober 4 - Zebby/Festa 5 - SWR/Abel/Bradley/Morris SP that could or maybe should move to the bullpen... Adams, Ohl, Raya, Prelipp, Urena. After the deadline the Twins now need to rebuild the pen from scratch. Best way to do this would be signing 3 legit RP and filling the rest with failed SP and internal arms.

    It sure looks like Ohl and Adams either need more time in AAA, or try them out in 1-2 inning relief outings. Starting has not worked out so far, neither one, especially Ohl, seem to have good enough strikeout stuff. I don't get why they haven't given any starts to Abel or Bradley. These are guys that need innings, wouldn't it make more sense to give them a shot and maybe audition for a SP role next year? Abel and Bradley every fifth day sounds like a better strategy than 2 so called bullpen days, which is basically just Adams, Ohl and Urena surviving for as long as they can. Gasper also needs to go. It's becoming clear he will not be a part of the teams long or even short term plans. The guy just can't hit at the MLB level and his defense behind the plate sucks. Dump him and give one of our young catchers some valuable major league experience and maybe do a bit of an audition for the backup catcher job next year.
