    I am not so sure. This guy isn't going to get what he is worth until he is 30 and that is a long time for a flame thrower.

    Miranda has to prove himself at St. Paul next year before he can be considered as an option for any position. There are guys behind him in the minors that are likely to leap frog over Miranda on the depth chart. The odds are not in his favor with the Twins.

    I agree. I think the original comments on Donnie Bats sold him short. Let's not forget the amazing play he made to end a playoff win against Toronto and his hitting was steady. I see him as a solid utility guy for next year. I think Julien may be the best bet ONLY if Kiriloff is not good to go.

    That play and how Correa planned and orchestrated it has me entirely "Geeked out"! Correa's baseball IQ is off the charts. He could be a manager, front office leader down the road.

    I like your comments about Rocco. My add on is this. First, it was MORONIC pulling Berrios. Pure and simple. I appreciate the advanced statistics, etc.; but managers and front offices can not go 100% with their brains. They have to trust their eyes and inject their heart into the equation. The players are humans, not robots. Their performances can vary wildly. In this case, Berrios looked nearly unhittable. Someone in Toronto should lose their job for that decision.

    Ober/Ryan are a toss up and it will be interesting to see who pitches game one against Houston. Also, if Brock Stewart had not been injured, I suspect he would have been close to making this list.

    Good call out...and let's not forget picking up Solano during Spring Training. While on the topic of Solano, the Twins really showed the leather yesterday. In my mind there were 3 incredible plays and several good ones. Taylor's diving catch in the 2nd inning; Correa's amazing back up of Polanco and then THAT THROW! The last great play was Solano's play to end the game. Spectacular. Taylor's catch against the wall was very good, but we would have been upset if he doesn't make that play. It's well within his capabilities. All that said, the Twins played great last night. I've heard complaints about the rest of the Twins hitters, but don't forget, Toronto has a superb staff.

    I think Paddack makes the roster. I like Ober, but he is starting today and the Twins probably would like him to eat some innings. If that happens, he won't be on the roster for the first round. I love Buxton, but I wouldn't have him on the roster.

    Since Ober is pitching today, it would seem he won't be on the roster. Hopefully the Twins advance. If that's the case, he might be starting a game in the next round. Nice to see Paddack pitch so well.

    Game 4 if we make it to the next round. That said, I think Ober was overlooked in the article. He almost certainly will be part of the staff for the first round as a long reliever.

    I'm with you here. I also think that Maeda having pitched in relief in the playoffs is a benefit. So Ryan starts and Maeda is long relief. I would also substitute Ober for Paddack. Paddack hasn't had the equivalent of spring training. Too risky a move. Also, I've personally lost faith with Griffin Jax and would substitute Funderburk. And I just don't feel like Buxton is the right choice. He is such a marvelous player, but this just hasn't been his year with injuries...again.

    I can't see Keuchel on the playoff roster. I think Ober could be in, but not instead of Stewart.

    You know what: Castro has really impressed in CF. I wouldn't want him as the everyday guy, but he is incredibly valuable to the Twins and his CF play has been really good. If Buxton is a no go for the position, then I like the idea of phasing Royce Lewis into the position.

    Stevenson offers base running and stop gap in Center field (although that seems less necessary). I don't know if Stevenson will be on the playoff roster; however, it is good to have situational players available. Imagine the 10th inning and starting a runner at 2nd base. Or needing a run late in the game.

    I disagree with the premise of your response. Correa's hitting has been disappointing, but his play at shortstop over the course of the season has been very good and he appears to be a fine leader on the team.

    What you say about the records is true; however, if you look at the past 2 months you get a different picture. The Twins appear to be peaking at the right time. They are fortunate to be in the AL Central, otherwise, it might not matter. That said, I don't think any of the wild card teams want the Twins. Between our top starters, hot rookie bats and reinforcements arriving for the relief pitchers, I'm pretty bullish.

    I just can't see the Twins taking a chance on Alcala in 2023. Too many choices ahead of him and too much at stake.

    Speaking of secret weapons, let's not forget Brock Stewart and hopefully Paddack. Brock Stewart was part of the 7th/8th inning pitching pre injury. I think he is a solid bet to regain that trust and positioning.

    I think you nailed it. The 4 guys you mentioned plus several on the farm are what this team should continue to build around. The Twins are no longer dependent upon Correa and Buxton performing as all-stars...although wouldn't that be a tasty icing on the cake that you mentioned.

    I agree with your last comment about Brock and Paddack. Those guys could add quality to our bullpen and make a difference. I am looking forward to how Ober pitches tonight as he could move up to be the 4th playoff starter which I think the Twins will need.

    I don't trust Pagan or Jax. I don't think we should forget about Ober and Paddock as well as Stewart (whom you mentioned). Those 3 guys COULD have a significant impact on the bullpen.

    100% yes, Maeda needs to go to the bullpen.

    I was one of the guys calling for Kepler's head...but have been happily proven wrong the past two months. That said, I'm still not sure he should be with the team next year in order to make room for the youngsters (probably not Larnach). However, I certainly understand keeping him. Polanco is another story. I love the guy and recognize the value he continues to bring...when he is available. But the years are catching up with Jorge; his injuries are adding up and the Twins have loads of young and veteran infield talent. I personally feel that the Twins should move on for next year.

    I think the idea is to use him in low leverage/mop up situations. It's important to have better options for that rather than using our best guys or...position players.
