  1. I'm all for it if he can perform, but .237 at St Paul doesn't scream that he is ready. That being said guys like Farmer or Santana aren't necessarily locks to make the roster, IMO. They are getting paid a reasonable amount that wouldn't really be tough to DFA if Severino, Miranda, Martin and Lee have a great spring.
  2. I understand what you are saying but when was the last time he was out an extended amount because he slammed into the wall?
  3. Doesn't look hard no, just remember most of the games we lost, when Gray pitched, they didn't score runs or Rocco took him out at 80 pitches because he wasn't sharp (even though he was not giving up runs).
  4. I agree slightly. If he couldn't play the OF he should have been shut down before season started. I don't think he is able to be a DH every day. He took one bad AB into the next. You could argue that it was because of the injury, but that makes my point. If healthy we need him out there in CF at least 60-70% of the time. With Bux and Willi on the base paths, that would be a lot of fun. Coaches need to cut the players loose to steal more bases, especially if there are guys hitting .200. It puts more pressure on defenses, which could create more hits for those guys.
  5. I agree, as a starter Louie wasn't great IMO, wasn't bad either. But in pen he was very good. Lopez, Ryan, Ober and Paddock is a good start for rotation. Go get one more good arm and they are set.
  6. Problem with Dobnak, he was a good story but throws soft and doesn't miss bats
  7. Can they sign Tsyoshi Nishioka too?
  8. Hey Tom, great video. It's nice to have this laid out for us fans. What do you think the chances of Jeffers trade? I am not saying it should or shouldn't happen. That being said here are the moves I would make... Lopez Gray 2 yr 36 mil with 1 yr option. Ryan Paddock Ober (Would love to add Montgomery but won't happen) 1b: Kirilloff/Severino 2b: Julien 3B: Lewis SS: Correa LF: Waller/Castro CF: Buxton/Martin RF:Kepler C: Vasquez/Carimargo
  9. Headrick was a rookie so I will give hime a pass. Going into last year I had the same feelings about Sands but he ended up (after IL stint) with 3.74 ERA. Before the injury I believe it was under 2. Strikeouts could come up /9 a little but fairly good numbers. Winder is the only one I am not high on for now. Seems like he is a long reliever type that will give up a lot of runs (over 4 era)
  10. I was curious to see if/how draft picks were improving. Here is the basic stats for just the last 2 drafts as of Aug 26th
  11. I think the problem with his bat is if he is needed for 3-4 ABs in a game. I like him as a pinch hitter/defensive replacement.
  12. If I am a betting man Paddock is not going to be back. they will give him the offseason to make sure he is good. With Kuechel there is 0 point to bring another starter to the pen (Ober/Meada probably end up there as well). Buxton needs to be able to get into the field though, that is a must, otherwise, keep him on IL and bring up Martin.
  13. Everyone knows that if Rocco is gone Pohlads will have gardenhire coach. He coaches his tail off.
  14. Why would you trade one of the only hitters that is performing? Leaving Gallo in there does nothing. Move AK to LF.
  15. Gallo was traded last year, with similar money involved, I believe. I think somebody could be interested at the right price. We aren't going to get a lot unless we eat some of the money. It is a possibility though.
  16. The problem is, Farmer, Solano and Castro. They have all played into the lineup. They need to trade Gallo and Kepler if they are keeping both.
  17. I dont think i touch the starting pitching. What I would consider is a trade for Soto and another for Goldschmidt. Dont know if either of those are available. Maybe include Gallo/Kepler.
  18. This is exactly the time. It isn't Rocco, who we could discuss deserving firing, but hitting isn't there. They need to do something. Not addressing it will mean 0-22 in POs
  19. He couldn't be worse than Kepler, plus he isn't going to get better with AAA pitching.
  20. I don't think CES will reach Baltimore as he was traded to Cincinnati
  21. He was absolutely awful for most of last year. Over the last month and a half or so (from what i heard) he stopped using a pitch. I don't remember which. During that time, he had very good numbers. Look at this year now 1 ER over 5.2 innings, 1 BB and 4 K, 1.69 ERA. If he keeps this up, he is back, and we have 6 guys who can lock it down.
  22. Kepler would have been a nice one to predict.
  23. Why not just take a Bailey Ober for #5?
  24. Nothing HAS to happen. The younger guys have options. I don't know that the FO over valued Kep. I do believe some fans/writers overvalued him. But this could just be posturing as well. If they have a team that is interested in him but won't meet your "demands" in a trade. You say you are keeping and see how desperate they are.

    Helman

Correct. It should be a big belief. The Astros played small ball, base stealing, Hit and run, Bunt etc. Obviously they didn't have the health issues. But they can't just ignore that part of game.
