  1. I will say I understand what you are saying, however, I do think you are being too hard on Lee. I do like him and believe he will improve this coming year. He basically has one year of experience and two different hitting coaches. Also to say they won't be competitive with lee batting 3rd then say Jenkins would make them competitive is naive. Jenkins had a line of .242/.324/.396/.719 at AAA last year. I am not saying he won't be good at major league level but Lee for context hit .237/.304/.428/.731 before he was first called up. I don't think we need to rush Jenkins. Minnesota fans are quick to call young players busts too quick so lets have him get enough at bats at AAA so he is ready to perform in Majors.
  2. I didn't get to watch every game but the ones I did, it seemed like Lee had good range. What does the analytics say? Did he get to less than most SS would? Could he or Lewis fix out 1B issue? I thought Lewis really improved at 3B so Lee at 1B would hide most range issues, when Culpepper is ready.
  3. I agree but I also think Prielipp is in pen. Health issues with him just seem like it is a better option.
  4. There is 0 percent chance Twins are getting Scherzer or Verlander. If they aren't going to retire it is to try to get another Championship.
  5. I would rather bring up one of the young "kids", like fedko, from minors or use Wallner/Clemens. I would be hesitant about Walner as I don't know if he has played there before.
  6. Gagne has 2 WS Titles so yes I agree he is better than Correa. C4 had 0 post season heroics. Pedro Florimon > Correa
  7. The other side of that is if everyone is throwing upper 90s then he comes in where ever he is at (low 90s) it does play. That comes down to coaching. Plus if he knows how to pitch it doesnt matter.
  8. Also, I am not sure how you can say Lawyerson's stuff doesn't play after 7 2/3 innings. 7K 0BB only 1ER. I am not huge analytics guy but very small sample size he looks good.
  9. I don't think Adams looked awful for one maybe two innings. He struggled as a starter and going many innings, However, he was a rookie and improved overall late.
  10. With the right coach that is 120 wins. Also we would win every game 1-0.
  11. They gave up stewart who pitched once and was out for the year. Outman has created more outs than i would like but I believe there is some defensive benefit with our other outfielders. Hard to call it the worst trade.
  12. It's not going to be the same Duran. I bet he averages 95-96 (which is still fast) as a starter. In the minors he was a starter and his ERA was 4.7 in majors as a closer his ERA is 3.15.
  13. A dominant closer, you would want to convert to Starter so the Topa, Sands and Cabrerras of the world could be the closer?
  14. They have struggled to develop position players. Pitching however they have done very well. Zebby, SWR, Festa, Ohl, Adams. The List goes on. The key will be getting them into the right positions, ie. Starting or pen
  15. Why not Gonzalez, if he crushed lefties, have Cody out there against Righties.
  16. I would say no. Attendance is already going to take a hit unless they do spend. Gotta go with what they have right now. I do believe they can compete.
  17. I wouldn't say Sands is a no brainer. He has been bad every year except for last year. I think Clemens and Lewis are no brainers as well. I do question Larnach, may not get much but something is better than nothing.
  18. Those two are most likely to be corner outfielders for at least one year, to get their feet wet.
  19. My comment was meant for the overall team not just the starters. I understand health issues but many times he has snatched defeat out of the grasps of a win because he takes a starter out. Guys like Alex Cora or AJ Hinch consistently make good decisions, now maybe they are finding new ways to cheat. I don't know.
  20. This maybe off the wall, I like him as a starter but I do think Matthews has the stuff and mentality to be the closer. SWR is a soft thrower so he could be pen. There are so many pieces the problem is Rocco has not shown that he can put them in the right position yet.
  21. OK there are a few flaws to your comment. 1. Saying they lack middle of the lineup power then naming Wallner (20 HR) Clemens (14 HR) and Royce (9 HR) is flawed logic. Now you could talk about the average and Wallner could be discussed. These three have those numbers in around 80 games. If you could double that what happens and Royce you can tell has been fighting things after the injury. I would like to see if he could stay healthy and bounce back. 2. Adding an experienced closer? Joe Nathan, Glen Perkins, Johan Duran. Were any of them experienced? I will agree that they need to find someone but maybe that guy is one of Prielipp, Raya, Adams, Abel, Matthews
  22. If they want to lose ALL the fans then by all means trade them both. Could I see one of them yes, but I hope not. I do believe they can compete next year if they keep the rotation intact. If they trade one of them it would be tough, both, there is 0 chance. They honestly just need to figure out the bullpen and I think Prielipp and Raya could factor in. Starters Ryan, Lopez, Ober, Matthews, and (one of SWR, Festa, Bradley, Abel) Pen Sands, Funderburk (maybe), Prielipp, Raya, Adams, Ohl,
  23. I wonder if he hits the next week or so if he is called up this year yet.
