  1. I agree. He replaces Garlick and Celestino because Kiriloff can play CF for 70 games when Buxton is hurt. (Assuming he's not on the IL at the same time as Buxton).
  2. This an upgrade from Bundy and Archer; I'd sign him to a 2 year contract.
  3. Send them a LH hitting outfielder and an arm from the system. Kepler would love San Diego
  4. This lost is a great list and more evidence of Falvey and LeVine doing nothing to make the Twins better. Come Feb well sign two arms or a bat that no one wants and pretend we've made our team better and deeper. It's a silly game they play and it will not help come April 1st. This team isn't better than Cleveland and probably isn't better than Chicago either. Another non competitive season, ?
  5. A) I don't think Swanson gets 10 years and he gets about $18 million, not $27. B) Wacha could be had for $10 million, he'd be an upgrade over Archer or Bundy. I'm all in favor of offering Rodon an extended contract but they haven't paid pitchers beyond 3 years, doubt Rodon changes that philosophy
  6. 13 year contracts for 28 or 29 year old players is what hurts baseball. Twins were right to pass and move on, go get Swanson and maybe 2 cheaper starters. Trade Arraez, you'll need to play Lewis at 3rd when he's healthy. Arraez can bring a good young starting pitcher
  7. Falvey and Levine better get this deal right. Gio was a steady influence in a team where everyone was hurt and he was an above average bat and glove. $9 million for one year shouldn't be the reason to unload him. We currently have no SS and 2 questionable 3rd baseman, neither is an every day 3rd baseman. Lewis won't be back til late June or July and he's now had 2 ACL surgeries. Management cannot screw this up
  8. How close is Woods Richardson to being a part of Twins rotation or bullpen? Do you see the Twins sticking with their philosophy on starting pitching next year or will they look to lengthen the starts for 3 or 4 of their rotation guys?
  9. My frustration continues to be management off season gambles on starting pitching no one wants. Bundy has been ok but Archer has been a complete waste of time. If this management group doesn't value starting pitching, and it seems clear to me they don't, then stop bringing old rehabbed starters in and spend your money on more and better bullpen guys. The use of Gray all year as been mystifying, the bullpen up until the trade deadline was below average. The Twins could have swept a 5 game series from Cleveland in June with a better bullpen. This team is where they are because of a lack of important pieces in June, games were handed to opponents, the injuries suck now but this division could have been ours before mid July with better moves in the winter.
  10. If thus roster doesn't change by the end of Tuesday, Aug. 2nd, they don't win the division. This bullpen has shown no signs of improving and we have starters who can't pitch past 4 or 5 innings. That means a bad bullpen gets more innings. It's not gonna work and we can't hit our way to a title
  11. 2 moves; get Bednar from Pittsburgh and Castillo from Cincinnati. Castillo will come at a cost but I believe he's locked up for 2 more years.
  12. This bullpen is made up of maybe and hopefully with the exception of Duran and maybe Moran. Moran only because he's LH and there's always that. Lots of work to before we're serious about good they can be
  13. My opinion but, they don't need another bat, offense isn't the issue. Get Larnach healthy and your OF and INF depth immediately improve. This team doesn't even have a spot for Sano when he's healthy so adding a bat seems odd.
  14. So, lets say our 4 locks in the rotation are Gray, Ryan, Smeltzer, and Winder. How bad do we really need another starter? Bundy can be #5 and Archer can go to the bullpen and then go get Bednar from Pittsburgh. Much better use of our money in a bad division where we will outhit our rivals
  15. Love the idea of Bednar in tje Twins bullpen, he'd would create badly needed depth in tje 8th/9th inning.
  16. No way I'd have Kepler in the top 5, Urshela or Kiriloff get that spot for me. Buxton at 3 is probably accurate, Correa is easy to put #1 based on his career
  17. Rather than a 6 man rotation, move Archer or Bundy to the bullpen and put Ober in the rotation. Archer could pitch on back to back days I think Bundy could as well but this would be a way to add depth to an awful bullpen without trading prospects. The rotation has been solid, they don't get deep enough into games but I think that's a leadership decision not players. We enough pitching to explore with adding a bullpen guy right from our clubhouse, Archer would be my 1st choice.
  18. Time to move on from Sano in my opinion. A)This is NOT a David Ortiz scenario, Miguel has had plenty of time to improve and become a consistent hitter and defensive player. The Twins young players, Miranda, Kiriloff, and Larnach have all shown more skill as hitters and defenders than Sano. Sitting any of those 3 so Sano gets AB's this year makes no sense. Time to move on.
