  1. You're 100% right. It's like they didn't give a rip. Dick even took a couple mild shots at the team. Never thought I'd hear that.
  2. My best friend in high school and juco back in NJ, ended up going to Iowa State for a short time. He roomed there with a guy who moved to St Paul after graduating from ISU, to work at West. A year or two later, my friend and I took a road trip from NJ to Mn to visit this other guy...and also to drink copious amounts of beer...and we also took in a Twins game at the dome, first year it opened. My opinion was...this is the worst damn ballpark ever created, and I still think so. Anyway, I met my future wife here in Mn on that trip...and I fell for her, and the Twinks. Been here since 82. Proud Twins fan!
  3. I wish him well, but I believe his ship has sailed, as far as the Twins go. Anything's possible, but I'd be surprised if he gets another shot up here. His best chance is with another organization.
  4. I didn't have a problem with the trade when it happened...and I don't now. Classic win/win trade. If a couple of our underperforming regulars would be hitting to their capabilities, then we wouldn't miss Arraez at all. Lopez has been very solid overall.
  5. Too early to draw many conclusions about his first start back in the majors. Ariz was one big hit from putting crooked numbers up. He was ok...we'll see what happens next time out. We won the game with some late heroics.
  6. There's no doubt he really picked his AB's since the break. He's a different player. Whether or not he keeps it up remains to be seen. If he does, it's great for us and I'd bet he gets extended. If not, and he goes right back to the Kep we've seen the past couple years, and the first half of this one...then, I'd shop him. If it we're to somehow come down to keeping Kep or Gallo...well, that's the biggest no-brainer in the history of mankind! Personally, I think it's time to move on from him and give the job to Wallner, but I'd be surprised if the FO does that.
  7. Nice win last night, but there's a little bit better lefty going for the kittys tonight. If we can beat him, then we're really doing something!
  8. Wouldn't mind it, but extremely doubtful it happens. Why would the FO do it when we already have that perennial all star Gallo?
  9. He should've been DFA'd already. He has to go as soon as AK gets back...if not sooner. We have other options at 1st.
  10. If the injuries/concussion(s) hadn't happened, and he remained as a catcher, that contract might have been the best bargain in MLB history. What happened to his career was a downright shame. Would love to see him become more involved with the franchise in some way.
  11. My radio experience is mainly limited to the NY and Philly markets. This was back in the 60's and 70's. When I was a kid it was Lindsay Nelson, Bob Murphy, and Ralph Kiner for the Mets...and I was a die hard Mets fan. The Yankees had Frank Messer, Bill White, and Phil Rizzuto...I hated the Yanks and still do. Philly had Harry Kalas, Rich Ashburn, and Andy Musser. At night on AM radio from the NY area, I used to be able to get games at times from Det, Chi, Cleve, and StL. Not all the time, but sometimes. Can't remember who all the announcers were...Det had Ernie Harwell, Cleve had Herb Score. Those two I remember. I fell asleep many a night listening to one game or another on my old AM radio. Didn't move to Mn until 82, and then I had the pleasure of listening to Herb Carneal.
  12. OH BOY! We're set now! WS here we come! Wait...what? Ya gotta be kidding! Make no moves at the deadline, then claim this guy? C'mon Falvey!
  13. There's no doubt that Cleve is doing all they can NOT to win this lousy division. The question is...will that be enough for us to do it?
  14. We finally got him a few runs, and it was enough to hang on. Nice to see him get the win.
  15. Must be from twisting his body around to watch those 400 ft rockets leave the park.
  16. I hope not. None of their jobs should be secure.
  17. I've been around the block more than a few times, and seen many baseball players/pitchers and games. I don't think I've ever seen a pitcher give up the long ball like Ryan's done the last month. It's off the charts incredible.
  18. I'm going to assume that it's not Ryan.
  19. It's exactly what I expected, but it's still a huge disappointment. If you think that things are going to improve the rest of the season, with what we've got...your rose colored glasses need an update.
  20. None of those deals moves the needle very much, and I'd actually be surprised if this FO does ANYTHING today. If they do, it won't be anything too spectacular.
  21. Deals are getting done...and so far, we don't seem to be pulling the trigger on anything. Sewald is gone. Canha is gone. Candelario is gone. Only 24 hours left to plug some holes.
  22. Saw that the Mets and Padres are supposedly interested in Larnach. I'd have no interest in Pham. Maybe Raley, but it depends on the deal. I have no idea what the Pads might be offering.
