A little off topic, but I always think about how the NFL started. A bunch of guys wanted to get out of football being a corporate advertising write off to a separate entity about.... Football. And now how today it's circled back to being about the corporation again ...

I'm just hoping that whoever the trade partner is would rather have a cf than those corner guys. Plus, we allways have Jake Cave in St Paul?
  3. The Mad King
I'd rather part with one of them as opposed to Larnach, Kiriloff, or Miranda.

    Are you quoting ABBA???
  5. The Mad King
Yup, we all had expectations for a guy named "Fernando."

Starter. Move Bundy and Archer to the pen

Starting pitchers can't go deep and relief corps is a mess. If the former could fix itself, the later wouldn't be as big a problem. I wish they would let Jax be a two inning reliever...

I'm gonna pass on adding offence.

All we can do is hope you're right

I loved him when he was here but bringing him in is only going to take a roster spot from a young developing player. And we need the defensive flexibility that he doesn't have. And I'm not giving up a Joe Ryan to get him

Trade to any NL team that needs a right handed bat, for best offer

    Great article, Ted

It's not unusual in other sports, football and basketball namely, for coaches to leave pro and go back to college. Some of them just prefer working with amateurs instead of the headaches that come with pro athletes. Just a thought.
  14. The Mad King
He should be on the trade block to whatever NL team needs a right handed bat.

I dunno, as great a talent as Buxton is, they actually DO replace him about a third of the time while staying in contention.

This new learning amazes me, Sir Bedavere. Explain again how sheep's bladders may be employed to prevent against earthquakes...

Funny thing about stats. You can take 9 .300 hitters, put them all on one team, and they're still going to make 27 outs. Even at the All Star game, someone is going to be 0-3. I still feel Jeffers is going to be elite some day.

Vladdy will certainly have a leg up in fan voting being in Toronto. Maybe Canadian votes should have an exchange rate!

Would anyone have predicted he'd be the only one not on the IR? I enjoy watching his facial expressions when he pitches. He looks like he's having fun. I just wish he could get through 6 innings...

Possibly the worst uniforms I've ever seen.

Hadn't even thought about him coming back as a reliever. But I like the idea.

Urshella has made some phenomenal plays. Timely his. Infield defense as a whole has been very good. After last season my expectations for Celestino where not very high but he's proven me wrong.

I can't handle the color analyst's voice. He needs to shut up. Talks too much and it's annoying.
  24. The Mad King
Honestly I think they're waiting for someone to get injured so that sending someone back to St Paul isn't needed.

My wife adopted Astudillo as her favorite Twin last year and I got one of his cards for her from eBay. But it was pretty cool that he'd be playing here in Jacksonville this season. There was no sign of him at the first game we went to back in May. But Lewin Diaz plays first here, and Refsnyder was playing for the Woosox that night. Second game we went to got rained out (Slegers was slated to pitch for the visitors) and then Willans got the call up. Maybe we'll catch him later in the year...
