    A) too good on defense B ) dh's still slide into bases C) dh's still get hit by pitches D) dh's still chip teeth eating steak...

... But if I had a young catcher, and another who many consider to be the worst catcher in baseball... Wouldn't it be advantageous to have the catching coach available to speak to between innings? Talk about, you know, catcher stuff? The previous at bats, the next three coming up? Nah, he should probably go coach 1st base instead...

Excellent analysis. Gives you hope that he can be the 2020 version again. Thanks

1-Maybe getting rid of Donaldson wasn't a bad thing. I'm over 1000 miles away, but I could never shake the thought that he wasn't good for chemistry... 2- Buxton Buxton Buxton - please stay healthy 3- Correa has a Nelson Cruz vibe - that calm cool presence in the middle of the order that keeps teams from trying to pitch around everyone else 4-Duran Duran - see Buxton 6 - who is gonna be the closer? Please don't say Duffy. I had a 5 but can't remember where I put it...

Thanks for keeping us informed. Back in my day.... We had to wait for The Sporting News to update us on last week's games...

I had no idea what this article was going to be about, but I came away with one thought: you'd make a damn good movie reviewer. Excellent writing.

Cavaco moved to 3rd base a permanent thing? Hope for a speedy recovery to Zarion Sharpe. How can you not want a guy with that name on your roster some day?

I thought they could hang onto him, see how the season goes, and get a higher return at the trade deadline. Or maybe reinjures his finger and we get nothing...

Nothing can be worse than Colome last year

I was hoping for another veteran pitcher, but tis not to be. At least we'll get a look at some of the younger arms we've been collecting.

    Well that sucks....

Joe Ryan heritage card!! I don't know why it's sideways!!!
  14. The Mad King
Simply stay healthy for the entire season and play the way he has the past 3 seasons.

Gonna miss Cruz, no doubt. The thingi liked best about him was he never got rattled. Calm and cool no matter the situation. I like Sano sliding into that role, but I can't stand sub .250 averages. Miguel, get off my lawn!

Joe Niekro is reading this article and is very pissed...

    Why do you ask, Twodogs?

Very nice analysis. I'd add center field insurance and "wtf are they doing holding Miranda back" to the list ...

    I'm good with it

I believe the last two will happen.

I get rid of the 3 non roster position players. Faria, Coulombe (sorry, that name is just too close to the banished one), Cotton, Romero, Stashak.

I like Alcala a lot. I've noticed with him today one of the keys is confidence. 2020 and early 21 you could see his lack of it on his face. But somewhere around June last year something clicked and you could see the confidence on his face and his pitching improved. I have faith in Rogers and Thielbar. I hope we get to see Duran come out of the pen a bit this season.

Does it seem like Sanchez is getting more work at C than Jeffers? Or is it just me?

I think it probably has something to do with the fact Jeffers doesn’t need the defensive work while they need to see if they have any hope of fixing anything about Sanchez.

That's the answer I was hoping to hear

My guess is Jeffers is already somewhat familiar with the staff and their tendencies, Sanchez is however new to the guys and needs to see their stuff and get on the same page as them. Also minimizes the chances of Jeffers getting hurt or dinged up.

Opening day isnt a trade deadline. Apparently the price Oakland is asking is too high. The waiting game could be dangerous too
