    If capacity to collect information is at a near all-time low, go with the safest choice. So I'm just fine with the pick. And I understand the risk-aversion from pitchers in a draft like this.

    Did Expanse get cancelled? For a second time (after scyfy and going to amazon). Edit: Season 5 just got finished filming. So no.

    He didn't hit well in AA, either (148 PAs). But boy did he kill it in the AFL in nearly a 100 plate appearances. Ft. Myers, of course, is a notoriously unfriendly league to hitters. This, combined with the low sample size in the other two leagues, suggests we should look at his stat line with a great deal of suspicion.

    The Redsox stated concern is that Graterol may end as a reliever, which was the Twins stated preference for him this year, so the Redsox already knew about that risk. Scott Boris has stated that there's no injury that was revealed in the medical records, so I'm not sure what the medical records would have illuminated that the Redsox didn't already know/suspect. The real problem was their concern about Graterol being leaked to the press.

    Twins may be leveraging the Redsox by going to the media and saying they've pulled out.

    Right. It certainly appears that Boston is using Graterol's medical review as a cover for backing out of the deal due to backlash.

    What a mess. Whether or not Boston's concerns with Graterol were legitimate after a medical review, those concerns never should have leaked to the press.

    I would be much less of a fan if the trade included either of those two over Graterol. I'd rather see the Twins add another player to the deal, or send cash, comp draft picks, int'l pool. There's plenty of room to get creative without dealing one of their true starter prospects.

    Proof? Meh. Can never have enough pitching. They still may have plenty of faith in those players, it's the pitching part that probably gives them pause.

    We traded a lot of potential, but with that, a lot of uncertainty, for a lot certainty in the middle of the rotation for FOUR years at a very cheap price whether Maeda hits his incentives or not. Given that Graterol was designated as a reliever, and the in-roads the Twins pitching coaches/techniques made with veterans last year, I really like this.

    Saw the first episode of Picard; really enjoyed it. Lots of callbacks to Next Generation that felt natural and not simply fan service.

    So what's the story with Knoblauch getting elected but not inducted? I have no memory of this.

    I would wait until the deadline on this. Is there a clear upgrade available in a trade? Price, Archer, Gray among others, have recent seasons of ineffectiveness. I just want more of track record before we give up assets and take on more dollars on a risk like pitching.

    I skimmed past* "teammates" and conflated it with fans; so, to be fair, it wasn't quite that poorly. The only thing I added was that it could affect free agency. *I had to google whether to use past/passed, and I'm still not sure.

    Not only that. Trading him would chill other players' willingness to sign long term, and it may even effect free agency. Players value certainty as well.
