  1. I watched the first episode. It was okay. Semi-serious, but some elements seem a bit juvenile. I forgot about the show until I saw your post. Given that it has source material maybe I'll check out the rest of it, but the first episode didn't engage me enough to keep watching.
  2. I did get hired that day, but they're reaction when I called saying I was late was pretty incredulous to the point where they came out to the parking lot to check it out. A horrible day, but with a happy ending.
  3. The car purchase wasn't super wise, but I had gone through a succession of lemons, with the final one, literally exploding at my first interview after law school.
  4. Dude, you guys invest!? My student loans (my own fault for such aspiration) saddles any ability to save (plus car loans); no way any bank should give me mortgage loan, but I bet if I asked, they would be game, predatorily.
  5. Why wouldn't they demote DeJong when Sano comes back? And if they prefer a position player to demote (Cave, Garver, Astudillo, release Adrianza), there's a better rostered pitcher than DeJong...
  6. Marwin played more in the outfield last year than the infield, iirc.
  7. Absolutely not. But the ability to lose well I think is an attribute towards winning in the long run. And if not, I admire it anyways.
  8. I like that Ororizzi takes to heart his own wildness and its capacity to harm others, shows integrity, especially after such a poor performance.
  9. Castro is supposedly a great framer and at working with the pitching staff; I haven't heard much about Astudillo's defense behind the plate, but that they've played him every where but catcher suggests some concern.
  10. How do you hold to it eat it? Looks like it would take three people to hold the dang thing, and then eating it seems like a messy affair. Do they cut it up for you?
  11. What the heck is a Boomstick? My imagination is filling in the gaps unfavorably.

  13. I think it means that there's no long leash to stick with the club; not in terms of staying out on the mound. But ash will be here to correct both of us in short order.
  14. Is Julie's sister a known terrorist at that point?
  15. It's been a minute so I don't remember this reference/plot-hole.
  16. When they signed Pérez for as much money as they did, and with the rumors of other teams being interested, I thought the Twins had probably identified an obvious mechanical flaw, that perhaps other teams identified as well. Whether or not he can put that into action, and be consistent with that approach remains to be seen, but the increase in velocity itself demonstrates some success already. Encouraging.
  17. I finished it; it was entertaining, but poor plotting, shallow characters, and an obvious surprise lead to think season 2 will be an unmitigated disaster.
  18. Adrianza contract isn't guaranteed, so he can be released with minimal financial impact. But as I understand it Torreyes does have an option.
  19. I binged Russian Dolls (NetFlix) last weekend and really enjoyed it.
