  1. I guess it's nice to try and stay positive but it isn't easy. Yes the Twins miss Correa in particular. Lewis is streaky great when he plays but he's missed a ton of games again this year. The jury is still out on Miranda but it's looking good. My point is these two games with Brewers showed some pretty poor and at times undisciplined play by our Twins. The bullpen cost us these past two games not so much missing those hitters. Saying they were tired is ridiculous. I do realize they only just had a 5 day break. Come on get real. Sending Margot up to pinch hit in the 8th inning with the bases loaded and no outs is a direct reflection on Roccos poor managing. Yes that same Margot that is now 0 for 23 pinch hitting. We keep sending him out there. He keeps failing, like Rocco. I imagine one of these times it may work. But he's been bad at it for too long. Brewers walked 7 Twins but we didn't take advantage. Our pitchers gave up most of the damage to the number 8 and 9 hitters in their lineup. The only thing good is Cleveland keeps losing. Thank you Guardians. But we could have been only 3 games out this weekend instead of 5. The Twins are now 22-31 against teams with winning records.
  2. JInteresting game. Interesting article. Many ups and downs. Santana Homer in 11th was clutch with 2 strikes and two outs he homers to tie the game. Baldelli burning his pinch hitters early again handcuffed the team late in the game again. Entertaining game but hardlh the best ever game at Target field as you mentioned. The 41,679 fans in attendance was biggest regular season crowd In Target Field history thanks in huge part to the thousands of Brewer fans in attendance. Yes missing Lewis, Miranda and especially Correa hurt. Not so much Lewis, and Miranda. Twins have been winning without them. But we do need them. 22-30 against teams with winning records. After Brooks Lee great start he is in a 1 for 16 slump. Looks like league is making adjustments. twins bullpen continues to have one of the worst inherited runners scoring in all of baseball. Staumont came in and let all 3 of his inherited runners score. twins 4 hitters in middle of lineup went 2 for 19. Margot is 0 for 22 pinch hitting but our grest manager keeps sending him up there. Lopez pitched a very good game. I hope he continues that trend. He needs to return to his number one status as a starter. Played poor defense at times especially with the game on the line. Let's win Sunday. Go Twins.
  3. Great article. I agree with it. They have done such a poor public relations job just this past year alone. The TV debacle has been going on fir at least 4 years. Every couple of months they tell us it will be fixed. But here we go again. Plus they pretty much pushed 40 year anniuncer Dick Bremer out the door and try to tell us he retired. Whether you like Bremer or not a man that has spent 40 years in the TV booth should be allowed to pretty much go out on his own. Then cutting payroll telling us there was no money coming from Bally Sports. Then getting money from Bally and not investing it back into the team. Closing the upper bowl of sears the first several games thus making some people pay more to sit in more expensive seats. The giveaways this year have been a joke. Many times the freebies are only given to the first 5000 fans. Sometimes 10000 fans. How do you explain to your grandsons that even though you were nearly one hour early to get the freebies they were out and they couldn't get one? It used to be thousands more. Not to mention over $200 for the game. It's a good thing the team is playing well or who cares?
  4. Always disingenuous to analyze a relief pitcher when you take out his bad appearances. Of course he will look good when you do that. The fact is he gave up those runs. Plus he gives up too many inherited runs. I think he is just what his stats for the season show. He's just a below average relief pitcher.
  5. Margot is just ok. His defense is awful at the worst possible times. Plus they keep insisting on using him as a right handed pinch hitter even though he's like 0 for 24 pinch hitting. I'm not impressed with him. He's been hitting better lately in the regular lineup but causes too many outs with his pinch hitting and bad defense.
  6. The Twins get very few props from the national media or even the baseball world as well. They very seldom are taken very seriously. It's unfortunate in that the team is doing fairly well.
  7. The Twins have major public relations issues. They make horrendous baseball related decisions that continues to alienate fans and then blame the fans for not coming. I was one of those that didn't go to early games because they closed the upper sections. They needed to dump st.peter years ago.
  8. I too think the Twins will overtake Cleveland. But not for all the fancy ways backed by the new wave analytical hodge podge. I just think the Twins are better than the guardians using the eye test. The Twins though need Lopez to pitch like he did last year.
  9. It could be the Twins year. They find ways to win ugly games. Let's put the Giants away on Sunday and take the series. Go Twins.
  10. It's really been a roller coaster year. Many ups and downs. They are doing a great job of beating up on the poor teams and poorly against teams with winning records. SWR has been a nice surprise so far. Lopez has been a huge disappointment up to this point. Twins need him to return to "ace" performance for them going forward. It's been fun watching some of the prospects perform so well. Gk Twins!!
  11. Nice to pick up a win in spite of not playing too well overall. Great to see Lee playing so well. Twins bullpen did ok but have o e of the worst performances in all of baseball kn allowing inherited baserunners to score. Thats 46% of inherited runners scoring. But overall it's always nice to just win. Go Twins!
  12. So why bring up Wallner if Rocco is just going to replace him with a right handed batter like Margo? Wallner deserves the chance to hit against lefties once in a while. So does Larnach. To send Margo up there with his automatic out, 0 for like 22 pinch hitting, does Larnach no good if he doesn't at least get the chance to bat for himself. I think he's only had 8 at bats against lefties all year. How can you make a judgement on that in such limited chances? It's not only unfair it's unprofessional. Margo hasn't ad a hit pinch hitting ALL YEAR. That's why it's hard to support Rocco wholeheartedly. He's good with analytics to a fault. Yes some common sense baseball instincts would help. Not starting Miranda was a joke. If you felt the need to give him a rest why didn't he wait until Chicago? He had people in the stands paying ridiculous prices to watch MLB. MIRANDA, not you Rocco, was tye biggest story in MLB. And you rest like him, at home? No feel for the game and hometown fans at all.
  13. Great win Twins. A sign of a good team is when different people contribute. Such as Vazqueź. Let's beat up on White Sox this week. I sure hope Correa won't be out too long. He is needed badly. Man if Lopez could get back to his 2023 form Twins could really go far
  14. It's always difficult to evaluate a player when he's very hot. Miranda has done great. Let's appreciate what he's done but then also realize it will end soon. The Twins will need to upgrade their bullpen. It's scary when relying on the likes of Winder and Funderburk. Twins improved their record Saturday against teams with winning records. They are now 18-26 against teams above .500.
  15. Nice win Twins! Congrats Miranda. We'll done. Gotta love Brooks Lee. He looks like the real deal. Maybe this trade deadline it's time to think about trading a veteran or two as it appears some of our prospects look ready to stay. Let's win on Sunday and take the series before heading to Chicago to takeon the white sox.
  16. It's always interestin̈g to me to listen to the pro Rocco group. They can't take any criticism of this "great" manager. The Twins are doing OK. I agree with that and am happy about it. But I'm of the belief they should have a better record if we actually had a game manager. In my opinion he does a poor job during g the game. Making and not making prudent pitching decisions is important. Leaving Winder and Funderburk in way too long in a two run game at the time shows he had given up. Also the Twins do a great job of beating up on poorer teams. Their record is 17-26 against teams with winning records. Winder and Funderburk shouldn't even be on the team. I just wish Rocco would mix in some baseball sense with all the analytics. After all he keeps pinch hitting Margo for guys like Larnach. Margo is 0 for 20 pinch hitting . Besides how do you know the lefties can't hit lefties if you never let them do it?
  17. Weird game. Weird manager but we should be used to that. When the game was relatively close at 7-5 he seemed to be throwing in the towel with Winder and Funderburk. At least they both keep showing the don't belong in the majors. At least not with the Twins. Keep sending Margo to pinch hit for viable left handed batter in Larnach. Margo is 0 for 20 pinch hitting yet our great manager keeps sending him up there. That's 0 for 20. Plus he butchered a ball in left field that most would have caught. The Twibs are now 17-26 against teams with winning records. People say what a comeback. Yes scoring 7 runs in the 9th was good. But they still lost. This isn't the NHL where you get points for just showing up. Pinch hitting for Miranda when he's hit 10 in a row? Absolute insanity. That is what is Rocco ball. It stinks. People say well the team has a winning record. But perhaps it could be better if we had a manager that used common sense mixed In with his analytical playbook.
  18. Way to go Twins. That's the way to take series against poor teams. I'm hoping we can do well against the red hot Astros as our record against winning teams continues to be atrocious. Go Twins.
  19. Good article. Well researched and thought out. Falvey needs to do much better in the trade department.
  20. Festa doesn't look quite ready for the big show. Maybe one more try. After all in a pennant race, yes we are over half the season, you can't afford to have such a weakness in your rotation. Great job Brooks Lee. Nice MLB debut. Twins attendance continues to lag. Mostly through their own fault for many poor decisions this past year and poorly handled in public relations. As of Wednesday the Twins ranked 24th out of 30 MLB teams in attendance. In fact all of the American League Central are in the bottom 8 in attendance. N
  21. Nice article. Injury prone is better determination than dumb luck. Your comment about people not understanding the muscle skeletal system is probably quite true as most of us are not doctors. So why then do most players on most teams play most of the year without the major injuries. Yes there has been a plethora of injuries throughout MLB. But most still play most of the time. We have put up with all the nonsense and mostly non playing career of Buxton. Lewis appears tge same. We should be used to it.
  22. I agree with the masses. No need to trade for offense. We have enough in the system. We need to see if they can play MLB. A team can always use pitching but not at the expense of top prospects. I truly believe the payroll will be stagnant for next year or more likely will be cut again. But if our ready an̈d near ready prospects are as good as they are hyped up to be we should be in great shape. Go Twins.
  23. Over the past few years I've learned to take Doogies rumors with a huge grain of salt.
  24. Correa has been good for the Twins. Is he worth 35 million per year? In my view no. Not at this point. But after much early consternation I admit he's been very steady. Well, his salary and with the ownership tightening up payroll may make it difficult to add to the team. But his salary is very palatable when you consider the NBA is now paying it's top players in the 50-65 million per year while only playing half the number of games as major league baseball. I bet the next negotiating session between owners and players in MLB will be very difficult.
