Twins are now 38-49 against teams with winning records. They have lost 7 of last 9 and are fortunate that Cle eland is also stinking it up or we would be out of the race. No we can't e pect Duran to be perfect all the time. However he hasn't been perfect very often. He's not the same shut down closer he used to be at times. He has 8 losses this year. That's way too many for someone that you count on to close out games and seal the victories.

Twins have now list 6 of their last 8. But Cleveland keeps losing so we hang in there. They keep bragging how we lost and still gained a half game on Cleveland. They fail to mention we lost a game and a half to Kansas City. Good news is we are still 5 games up on Boston for final wild card spot in playoffs. We are 32-44 against teams with winning records. Not impressive if you want to advance in playoffs. Buxton and Correa seem content to stay on IL instead of trying to help the team in their drive. Beginning to think the Mets and Giants were right in not signing Correa.

You are obviously kidding. This must be one of those Rand satirical articles. He has helped destroy more young players careers than help. He doesn't use any common sense. He's a terrible in game manager. Yes I would put him in the top 5. In the top 5 worst managers in Twins history.

Article is interesting but full of bs. It's too convenient to blame every loss on bad luck. That sounds like a Rocco/Front Office new metric for trying to deflect blame for their own strange decisions. Also players with no trade contracts can be traded. All the team has to do is negotiate with the player to waive their no trade clause. Sometimes a star player is willing to do that with a chance to move to a better organization. It's been done before. Of course why would Buxton and Correa want to do that when they can live comfortably on the injury list while their teammates are trying to win a playoff spot.

Very frustrating loss. Too many of them lately. Twins have now lost 5 of their last 7 games. Twins are 10 games below .500 against teams with winning records. Doesn't bode too well with a good but very injury riddled Atlanta Braves team coming to town.

Apple TV broadcast was awful. I detest in game interviews while the play is going on. I don't like it when the other networks do the same thing. The distractions are very intrusive and take away from the game. Of course we can always listen to Kris Atteberry on the radio broadcast. He is an expert about talking about everything except the game going on the field. He's impossible to follow and get a feel for the game.

Max Kepler: A Minnesota Twins Era Nearing Its End
Whitey333 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Kepler has been a good member of the Twins organization. Is he a superstar? No. But his career batting average is in line with Byron Buxton. Yes the oft injured, seldom playing centerfielder is hitting a career .243 for 9 years. Not much different than Keplar. And Max plays a lot more. One sad thing is the team won't get anything for him when they don't resign him. Oh yes they may get the Yankees third string batboy should he be in the draft. But yhe big thing will be by just dropping him they can cut payroll. That is a huge win for the Pohlad family. -
Nice win Twins. 1 of 3 against a very good Padre team, meh. 3 of 4 against a mediocre Rangers team. Kind of follows the season. We do well against struggling teams and poorly against teams with winning records. I believe we are 30-39 against those teams above .500. Hopefully we can take care of things on thus 9 gamehomestead. Go Twins..

Correa? Who's that? I don't expect him back until mid September if then. Between him and Buxton alone there is over 50 million dollar ball players rehabbing their owies. Sheesh.

Another loss on the manager. One of many this year. Twins will likely make the playoffs as a wild card but certainly no guarantees even there. Buxton and Correa are needed in the lineup soon. Maybe it's more comfortable for them to be on the injured list than to be helping their teammates during this stretch drive.

That was about the most ridiculous article I've read on TD. One huge negative with the team is we have Rocco. So often he's managing g, if you can call it that, is gearing for the next game and the next while ignoring the opportunities to win the current game being played.

Padres 5, Twins 3: Zebby Matthews Makes His Own Mess
Whitey333 replied to Nate Palmer's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Another loss to a team over .500. Twins are now 27-36 against teams with winning records. No offense . Man we need Correa and the perennial injured and part time player Buxton in the lineup. -
Nice article but way over done. No need to over analyze everything. Relief pitching happens. In this ridiculous era of analytic baseball, there is way too much relief pitching. When teams generally use bullpen to pitch the last 3-4 innings on a daily basis the bad outing will happen. Story here is Alcala had a very bad outing. Baldelli blew it by leaving him in way too long. Thistime of year the bullpen shows the strain of way overuse. It's major league baseball run amok
-
Loss is definitely on Rocco today. One of a handful of games the manager has lost this year. Excuse the people backing Rocco for keeping Alcala in there while he is getting hammered. There is no excuse for how he handled it. Alcala may have made rotten pitches but Roccos continued lack of game management skills is astounding. People say how lucky the Guardians are because the Twins lost. It works both ways. Maybe the Twins are lucky because Clevelanf lost. Very disappointing and needless loss.

Paddock is ok but not great. Seems he is being way over valued. He's a below average major league pitcher! I just don't see other teams wanting him. Two Tommy John surgeries is not a positive. Twins will dump more payroll for next year. Twins continue to down play injuries only to not see the players return for several weeks.

Nice win Twins. Saturday will be tough as our bullpen is pretty used up and we have the rookie Festa starting. Hopefully we can do it.

Margot sure doesn't move the needle much. He's been ok but easily replaceable with a minimum salary guy that ownership thrives on.

Nice win Twins. Let's keep it going. ALERT!!! Byron Buxton is on the injured list again. My goodness. Some people think the Twins season is doomed. For 8 of his 9 seasons we have seen Buxton spend more time on IL than on the field. Who isn't sick of this? Yes he was playing well when he plays. But he is just a (injured) shell of all the hype and promise. The Twins have done quite well when he is gone. Go Twins!

Here we go again. People blaming the loss on missed balls and strikes. Yes the ball and strike calls in baseball are terrible. They give fans an excuse for their team when they lose. I'm sure the ball and strike miscues never benefit the Twins. You never here about it when they do. I do agree though that those umpires get worse and worse on balls and strikes. Plus they are so arroga t and confrontational. They got rid of Angel Hernandez thankfully. They need to get rid if more starting with that stiff Hunter Wendelstadt.
