  1. There's no way to be ok with the Mahle trade. Even initially they gave upbtoo much even if Mahle would have worked out. One of the worst trades in Twins history. Mahle had a history of injuries before the Twins got him. Not a good deal at all.
  2. Regarding Royce Lewis. He complained about having to play second base and did it publicly. That was unprofessional. He's kind of cocky for a guy that hasn't played much for three years yet complains in public of being worn out. Rocco uncharacteristically blasted his whole team in public but he's the manager. He was trying to motivate a sleepy team. Lewis whining in public shows a lack of professionalism and maturity. He needs to finish strong. Buxton? Who knows? He's very undependable. Anything positive we get from him the rest of the year will be a bonus. People shouldn't expect him to just step on the field and carry the team to the playoffs. Correa?? Carlos Correa? Who's that?
  3. Of course the Twins did the right thing. It's a shame he took such a drastic measure because he was burned out or something. Really despicable. Goodbye and good riddance.
  4. Nice to take the series albeit a last place team. It would take a monumental collapse for the Twins to miss the playoffs. The question will be will they be ready. Will their injured players be back AND be productive. Good thing with Lopez and Ober being able to pitch the first two games of any playoff series. But with only about two weeks left in the regular season it's time to play playoff type baseball. It's time to streak into the playoffs with winning baseball. Regarding Trevor Plouffe blasting Rocco: I'm not a fan of Rocco ball at all. I regularly blast him here myself and probably will continue as needed. However Plouffe blasting Baldelli for calling out his team in public as unprofessional is in itself unprofessional. Stick to your broadcasting .
  5. It's funny what one win against a poor pitcher and a very poor Angels team will get us world series bound. Yes it was a needed win. Very well done. Let's put a meaningful win streak together before we declare their recent month long losing record done. Go Twins!!
  6. I do not like Roccos managing style. Well he really doesn't have one. People are right he us probably just following his bosses orders at least in part. Those of us that despise the strong use of analytics and lack of common sense when managing the team are stuck. This is the new MLB. It's a joke!! But it looks like it's here to stay. Boring baseball .
  7. The way the Twins have been playing recently, they are 5-16 in last 21 games, they don't deserve getting in. They would only get embarrassed.
  8. Valued distressed assets? The Twins are 5-16 in their last 21 games and are listless. Case closed.
  9. Twins just plain stink. They are 5-16 in their last 21 games and playing very poorly. Even Atteberry and Gladden are having trouble trying to blame it on bad luck and bad umpiring. Twins will win Tuesday with Lopez .
  10. Well it's evident that Kepler will be gone. And the timing is perfect. We won't need him next year. For all the negative comments regarding Kepler the same could be said of Buxton. He's been here 9 years and cannot be counted on. He is holding back players developments by honoring us with the privilege of just being his name. Even though it's consistently on the IL. No I'm not comparing Kepler with Buxton. One at least plays and tries to play. The other is just satisfied being on the IL receiving a huge pay check. I know Buck has a no trade clause but they can be bought out. This winter we will hear the same refrain we have regarding Buxton. "If Buxton plays center the whole season the Twins will be great." It's time to move on from both Kepler and Buxton!
  11. Well if the Twins are lucky enough to split the homestead the great Kris Atteberry will deem it a great success. Anyway, this team is rudderless. It's been that way over a month. Bad player performances plus we don't have a manager that has a feel for the game.
  12. I agree having Wallner. It is time to dump Buxton. What a drain he puts on this team. We have a good system of outfielder and on the current club. Buxton isn't even a luxury anymore. He's a hindrance
  13. I don't believe it. A guy hardly ever plays and he's complaining about the long grind of the season? He certainly is proving he isn't the great athlete he thinks he is. Mr. " I don't do slumps" has been a huge disappointment. Seems like now we have three "superstars" that we cannot depend on. Buxton, Correa and Lewis. My gosh what has happened to this team?
  14. I'm not really giving up either but I am close. The only reason the Twins may make the playoffs is Cleveland and Boston are playing as poorly as the Twins. The Twins have been playing with no heart or spank for over a month. Losing is bad enough but it's much worse when nobody including our manager seems to care. I think this week while Twins are playing the 28 games below .500 Angels the Royals go to play the Yankees. A real chance to make up some ground. But I don't have much confidence they will do it.
  15. Having up to four utility players is way too many. I'm a believer in having players playing one regular position regularly. This constant shuffling of players in the lineup and on the field is not helpful. Yes I know they have injuries. They radio announcers remind us of it everything a bad play is made or the team loses. Atteberry must be getting bonus money every time he brags up Buxton, Correa, and Rocco.
  16. Not surprised at all that Rocco took out Ober. Should he have? Of course not. It was another in a growing list of questionable, stupid baseball decision. He continually proves he has very little baseball sense. Kris Atteberry is getting so awful to listen to. Thank goodness Perkins was there to bail out his idiotic comments. Again, trying to blame game on umpiring and injuries. Yes we have injuries and yes Rocco made a poor decision and taking out Ober. Yes fielding didn't help in the 8th inning. But also you count on Duran and Jax. They both blew it!! Rocco blew it!! Again!! This team is a sinking ship with a manager with no clue.
  17. The Twins are 6-12 in their last 18 games. They are 37-49 against teams with winning records. Too many injuries and too many players not picking up even a little bit of the slack. Many of the remaining veterans in the batting order are simply stinking it up. Way too many lifeless performances the past month. Truth is they will probably make the playoffs. The other truth is they really don't deserve it.
  18. BUXTON? Who's that? Anyway nice win. The team is only .500 since the all star break. They were fortunate to split that series against a depleted Ray's team. The Twins really didn't play well in Tampa. They have lost 11 of their past 17 games. The only thing saving them is everyone else in the wild card playoff race is playing crummy too. They will for sure make the playoffs. They are pretty firmly entrenched in the second wild card slot. To blow it now would be catastrophic. Twins go to KC while Cleveland plays the Dodgers this weekend. There is a great opportunity there for the Twins to pick up some ground. Go Twins.
  19. Yes I'm sure we are witnessing Keplers last year with the Twins being on the IL. Reality is of course the Twins weren't going to have him back anyway. What easier way for ownership to cut payroll? I give Kepler credit for trying to perform even though the results weren't there. He at least tried. Our great Buxton and Correa seem content on milking the time on the IL. They were both supposed to be out a short time. Yet Buxton had been out nearly a month (we are kind of used to that aren't we) and Correa over 2 months. No I'm not suggesting they should play with serious injuries. It just seems they aren't that interested at returning anytime soon. Our two supposedly better players languishing on the IL while their teammates play through it trying to secure a playoff spot. Go Twins. Let's take the Royals series this weekend.
  20. You said Buxton must be getting sick of this? What about the fans as well. We've been putting up with almost 9 seasons of playing part time and on the injury full time. It's been a worn out saga for much too long.
  21. Too many ugly games lately. Twins have now lost 11 of their past 16 games. Yes 5-11 and firmly entrenched in a wild card. They have been under .500 since the all star game. Plus overall they are just playing ugly and uninspiring baseball. They should win Thursday with Lopez. But you never know.
  22. Yes Festa needs to do a better job of holding runners on. However, the Twins have been very poor at defending steals most of the year. The word has been out for quite some time. In this regard it looks like Junior Varsity base stealing defense. Festa did fine. U inspiring performance for the team as a whole.
  23. Awesome. Gotta be happy for a guy like him. As much as I rip the FO for their transgressions, I commend them for rewarding him with a trip to the big. Now let's hope he plays. A couple of seasons ago they brought up a minor leaguer in late September. They Twins season was long lost. The player was super excited. I remember his family had come for the weekend to watch their son make his MLB debut. But despite the Twins being way out of the race they didn't get him in there. One of the many classless and clueless things this FO and Rocco has done. BTW good luck Holman.
  24. You just never know how this team is going to go. People expecting Buxton to suddenly return and become a driving force for a sprint drive to the playoffs. He's had nearly 9 years as a part time player. I hope they make the playoffs. I think they will. Ownership will be happy as they may receive some extra pocket change. But an early exit would be embarrassing.
