  1. We all know this isn't happening. Twins are apparently looking to dump more salary this off season not add to it. I bet ownership and the front Office are second guessing the Buxton and Correa contracts. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to move one or both of them this off season. I don't think they will but it wouldn't totally surprise me. I know they have no trade clauses but those have been bought out in transactions in the past if the player gets enough cash to agree to a trade.
  2. It is a very odd situation. 50% of Buxton and Correa better than 100% of of a 4A type player? No. I'd rather have the player that can play everyday. Bringing Buxton and Correa "back" if they can't play seems counter productive.
  3. Twins lost 4-3 to a better team last night. CCleveland has been leading the central since mid April. This has been one of the most frustrating seasons in my nearly 60 years of following them. They have only won like 9 of their last 27 games. Not much of a "playoff run"
  4. Twins need to fix this tv mess as soon as possible. Many of us have not been able to watch the Twins for a few years now. After switching to different streaming services to be able to get Bally Sports to watch the Twins those systems dumped Bally. Fubo offers the Twins but is not a good system. It's other channel selections are very poor and limited. Bottom line is thousands of Twins fans have been left in the dark for the past 3-4 years. This is not a new development. The Twins have dropped the ball for a long time as they continue to show no loyalty to fans like they promised.
  5. Buxton and Correa not in Sundays lineup. What a joke, like our manager and Falvey too. I guess all the hype about those two coming back to spark the team was just that; hype. Even management isn't buying into the hype. You are in a play off run. If you are at all serious about trying to make it they need to play. If Twins miss the playoffs Baldelli and Falvey have to go.
  6. Well said. I couldn't agree with you more. Buxton and Correa not in starting lineup today? Correa was off for over 2 months. Was the 4 innings he played yesterday just too tiring? Even the radio broadcasters had said it would have been a good game for Buxton and especially Correa to get some swings in. Not play them today? A home game for a team that needs to win games? What a joke we have for a manager and FO.
  7. I will echo some of the other comments. Twins don't deserve a playoff spot. They have lost 18 of their past 25 games and playing very poorly as well. Baldelli lost this team a month ago or longer. They have no life. They may still very well back into the playoffs but they will more than likely lose out right away. They can't hit, they can't score. And the bullpen is in shambles. But yes oh yes we are blessed with the return of both Buxton and Correa. Correa informing us that he will be used sparingly. Great
  8. Well researched article. I realize with all the new analytics that the "eye test" does t mean much apparently. Anyone can " see" there has been no life in this team for weeks. They play with no sense of urgency or passion. They have lost 8 of their last 11 and worse yet 18 of their last 25. Their wild card lead is down to 2.5 games against both the Tigers and Mariners. The " eye test" says it all; analytics not withstanding.
  9. Get serious. Buxton and Correa will prove to be too little/too late in the long run
  10. The saviors of the season have arrived!?!? I'm so happy that their presence guarantees a trip to the World Series. I sure hope they solidify the team but their presence will only be noteworthy if they produce and the Twins win in the stretch drive. Go Twins.
  11. Well the Twins have had a big problem all year with the bullpen coming in and allowing inherited runners to school. Great job Kris Attebery for staying on top of that Stat all year. It is huge. Part of the relief pitchers role is to come in and stop rallies by the opposing team. The Twins have the worst record in all of baseball by far in that area. Well much is made of Buxton coming back. Well he homered. Big deal. Twins still lost. Team played very poorly. They had 4 runs but only 5 hits all game. Keep in mind that if the Twins make it to the playoffs they likely would open kn the road. The team would likely play the first round on the road. It is a best of 3 and the home team gets all the games. The Twins would open at Astros, Yankees, or Orioles with all three games at their park. Ouch. That's IF they make it. It's starting to look like a big IF.
  12. There's no way to be ok with the Mahle trade. Even initially they gave upbtoo much even if Mahle would have worked out. One of the worst trades in Twins history. Mahle had a history of injuries before the Twins got him. Not a good deal at all.
  13. Regarding Royce Lewis. He complained about having to play second base and did it publicly. That was unprofessional. He's kind of cocky for a guy that hasn't played much for three years yet complains in public of being worn out. Rocco uncharacteristically blasted his whole team in public but he's the manager. He was trying to motivate a sleepy team. Lewis whining in public shows a lack of professionalism and maturity. He needs to finish strong. Buxton? Who knows? He's very undependable. Anything positive we get from him the rest of the year will be a bonus. People shouldn't expect him to just step on the field and carry the team to the playoffs. Correa?? Carlos Correa? Who's that?
  14. Of course the Twins did the right thing. It's a shame he took such a drastic measure because he was burned out or something. Really despicable. Goodbye and good riddance.
  15. Nice to take the series albeit a last place team. It would take a monumental collapse for the Twins to miss the playoffs. The question will be will they be ready. Will their injured players be back AND be productive. Good thing with Lopez and Ober being able to pitch the first two games of any playoff series. But with only about two weeks left in the regular season it's time to play playoff type baseball. It's time to streak into the playoffs with winning baseball. Regarding Trevor Plouffe blasting Rocco: I'm not a fan of Rocco ball at all. I regularly blast him here myself and probably will continue as needed. However Plouffe blasting Baldelli for calling out his team in public as unprofessional is in itself unprofessional. Stick to your broadcasting .
  16. It's funny what one win against a poor pitcher and a very poor Angels team will get us world series bound. Yes it was a needed win. Very well done. Let's put a meaningful win streak together before we declare their recent month long losing record done. Go Twins!!
  17. I do not like Roccos managing style. Well he really doesn't have one. People are right he us probably just following his bosses orders at least in part. Those of us that despise the strong use of analytics and lack of common sense when managing the team are stuck. This is the new MLB. It's a joke!! But it looks like it's here to stay. Boring baseball .
  18. The way the Twins have been playing recently, they are 5-16 in last 21 games, they don't deserve getting in. They would only get embarrassed.
  19. Valued distressed assets? The Twins are 5-16 in their last 21 games and are listless. Case closed.
  20. Twins just plain stink. They are 5-16 in their last 21 games and playing very poorly. Even Atteberry and Gladden are having trouble trying to blame it on bad luck and bad umpiring. Twins will win Tuesday with Lopez .
  21. Well it's evident that Kepler will be gone. And the timing is perfect. We won't need him next year. For all the negative comments regarding Kepler the same could be said of Buxton. He's been here 9 years and cannot be counted on. He is holding back players developments by honoring us with the privilege of just being his name. Even though it's consistently on the IL. No I'm not comparing Kepler with Buxton. One at least plays and tries to play. The other is just satisfied being on the IL receiving a huge pay check. I know Buck has a no trade clause but they can be bought out. This winter we will hear the same refrain we have regarding Buxton. "If Buxton plays center the whole season the Twins will be great." It's time to move on from both Kepler and Buxton!
  22. Well if the Twins are lucky enough to split the homestead the great Kris Atteberry will deem it a great success. Anyway, this team is rudderless. It's been that way over a month. Bad player performances plus we don't have a manager that has a feel for the game.
  23. I agree having Wallner. It is time to dump Buxton. What a drain he puts on this team. We have a good system of outfielder and on the current club. Buxton isn't even a luxury anymore. He's a hindrance
  24. I don't believe it. A guy hardly ever plays and he's complaining about the long grind of the season? He certainly is proving he isn't the great athlete he thinks he is. Mr. " I don't do slumps" has been a huge disappointment. Seems like now we have three "superstars" that we cannot depend on. Buxton, Correa and Lewis. My gosh what has happened to this team?
  25. I'm not really giving up either but I am close. The only reason the Twins may make the playoffs is Cleveland and Boston are playing as poorly as the Twins. The Twins have been playing with no heart or spank for over a month. Losing is bad enough but it's much worse when nobody including our manager seems to care. I think this week while Twins are playing the 28 games below .500 Angels the Royals go to play the Yankees. A real chance to make up some ground. But I don't have much confidence they will do it.
