Tanking for a top draft pi k? Who cares? They will probably screw that one up too. Why all the hate on Lee? Sure he has a lot of work to do. He's a young inexperienced mlb player. IMO I think he actually shows some potential. Where is all the scrutiny on others? How about Matt Wallner just to name one. Sure he had 21 Homer's butb14 of them are solos. He only has like 36 RBIs. He lied out at a very high rate. He's a butcher for fielding and throwing. But I still want him. He shows potential. There's plenty on this team that have no business on a major league roster including Rocco as manager . .surd

Oh my. Just when I think it couldn't get worse it does. That's what you get when you trade away your bullpen. The next new promotion for Twins should be No Doz night. Everyone entering the game be given a box of No Doz to stay awake. First time in 64 years that Twins have ever been swept in a 4 game series at home by the White Sox.

Nice article. The Rwins need to make changes. B I think Falvey and especially usually Baldelli have to go. You need a real spokes person for the team. Not someone like or Joe Pohlad who has a good knack for sticking his foot in his mouth. Bring back some fan friendly players from the past to help market the team and let them get hands on with the fans. Someone in this crazy organization needs to take responsibility for the state of the team. This isn't just another business it's cemented in the state and community. People have a vested interest in the team especially as it's related to some taxes being used to build it in the first place. People want to know that ownership actually cares about their fans and the product they put on the field.

White Sox 12, Twins 3: Woof.
Whitey333 replied to Steven Trefz's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Interesting lineup on Tuesday. We had Jeffers, Julian, Keaschall, and Lewis as regular starters riding the bench. 4 regulars out at the same time?? What's with that? Anyway it was a typical post trade deadline game. Both Falvey and Rocco need to go at end of season but I doubt it will happen. Smallest September crowd at Target Field ever. 11, 721. Looked like half that in the stands. But it's ok this is the new Twins Way.- 94 replies

Same old thing every year. Always drooling over the next can't miss prospects. I admit the early returns have been good and he's only 20. But sorry I have to see him do it consistently at the major league level. The Twins have screwed up so many of their so called can't miss prospects that I am very skeptical. They come up here talented and then are stuck with baldelli. So many of them fizzle out in their mid to upper twenties. I hope Jenkins does great. We need him

Should the Twins Bring Back Luis Arraez?
Whitey333 replied to Matthew Taylor's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Yes winning attracts fans. But it's been obvious this ownership group and front office doesn't care about winning. The " it's the process not the results" philosophy of Falvey and Baldelli that is ruining the franchise. And of course ownership full endorsement of them both. I always liked Aaraez. He got us a good starting pitcher in return in Lopez. He was good here but the Twins won't sign him and probably shouldn't. Play the young players and see what they can do. -
Nice article Eric. Well thought out. I think they will trade both too. But mainly to save money and if it works out that's fine. All the prospects you mention are just suspects until and IF they prove themselves. Every year it's the same: Way too much hype on totally unproven major league wannabes. This is what it comes down to. Hype and hope. Over hype the value and potential prospe ts and hope the fan base buys into it.

Blue Jays 9, Twins 8: Welcome to Thunderdome
Whitey333 replied to Eric Blonigen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Adam's and Ohl have already shown they are not major league pitchers. They shouldn't even be in the conversation for next year's team. Entertaining game yesterday but overall not good baseball. Toronto looked very bad but has the talent to win. Not so with the Twins. Rocco? He should have been fired a long time ago. At the very least he and Falvey need to be replaced if the team is going to be taken seriously. -
Great article Nick. My sentiments exactly. This team overall has been a major disappointment during g the Falvey/Baldelli regime. It's already been nearly 10 years of mostly boring and poor baseball and the continual philosophy of selling hope and hype instead of good baseball. They have had only a couple of decent short and small successes relative to Falveys tenure. After following Twins baseball religiously for over 60 years this has to be about the lowest point in the franchise. They play the fans as idiots constantly trying to tell us how great the team is and selling the prospects as such a great future. Then they repeat the process while not developing their prospects as major league good players. It they are selling they have the number 2 best prospects in baseball. More hope and hype. More losing and no real direction. Falvey and Baldelli need to go as do the Pohlads.

Many Twins prospects Flames gave either burned out or are on a very low set. I doubt Roden is the answer. He sure didn't look it in his abbreviated time with Twins. So see what he can do next year. He may join the Twins prospect heap pole of guys in their mid to upper twenties that were supposed to be good major league players but have stalled out. We need to get rid of both Falvey and Rocco just for starters.
-
I am just so skeptical about the Twins ability to develop top prospects at the major league level. IMO the have ruined or hurt the careers of too many so called can't miss prospects. Jenkins and the other prospects deserve better. The clown show of Falve and Baldelli must be terminated for Jenkins and others to have a chance to achieve their true potential.

Great comments and opinions all! My opinion is when the prospects are i. The minors leagues and playing everyday in the minors the appear fine. But get to the majors and many of them are relegated to part time status due to Roccos platoon and strict unwavering spreadsheets. Plus Falvey spends a lot of time over hyping these prospects. So many failed or near failed prospects and yet we still have the Falvey/Rocco team running the show. It's a joke. They both need to go.

Abel was not good but this isn't unexpected. Keep sending him out there and hope he shows progress. Lopez, SWR, and Festa? We'll no guarantees there. SWR and Festa have at times done well and many times struggle. Lopez in all likelihood will be traded before or during next season. Hatch looks good so far. It's just auditioning the players for next season the rest of the way. So why are we auditioning Mickey Gasper? He definitely has shown he's not a major league player.

These Three Twins Are Approaching Make-Or-Break Status
Whitey333 replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Im expecting more moves this off season. Im pretty confident Pablo Lopez and his 21.5 million owed him each of the next two years will be gone. I think Ryan gets traded as well as Jeffers and a few others mainly to dump salary and get cheaper players with more team control. Lewis? I'd he had a great night Friday but those are way too few and far between. But after all it took Buxton 10 years to regularly stay on the field and produce. Lots of questions this off season again. Yet we have the same failed leaders in Falvey and Baldelli in charge of this. Makes no sense.- 49 replies

If the pricing rumors are correct I imagine many of us will not pay the exorbitant prices. I bought Twins.Tv this season. I enjoy the broadcasts. They are well done and the pricing is reasonable. However if it more than doubles for next season then I will be dropping it. Of course it doesn't help when we have such a lousy baseball team. With MLB moving games to Netflix, Peacock and other pay venues it looks like the idea that the Twins wanting to expand viewership is another bunch of bs. If mlb goes to more pay tv streaming and direct payments for customers to ESPN from customers then screw them both.
-
The article pushes hope and hype almost as much as the Twins. What has Falvey done to keep hus job so long? Not much? Baldelli same thing. Not much. But here they are just puppets of the Pohlad ownership group. Missed playoffs now 4 of past 5 years. Worst attendance at Target field ever. So Falvey tears down the roster that he built. A proven failure. The payroll dollars seem ok but how he distributed them was terrible. It seems likely more trades are coming in the off season. I would doubt very much that Lopez is back next year with his 21 million due him next year. I honestly hope they are competitive next year but I just don't see it.

Lee is doing just fine. Why all the unnecessary scrutiny and negativity when offensively he is one of the team leaders? Sure he needs to improve. I think he will. Anyone watch Royce Lewis flailing away at the plate throughout his career? And what king of cybernetic gobble de gook keeps Mickey Gasper on the Twins roster?
-
Yes i agree. Wallner looks and plays poorly. I actually feel sorry for him. He looks deflated and defeated. Lewis needs to go as well. And take Rocco with him. Why pinch run for Lee who had 3 hits. I don't care if he is slow. You don't remove a guy from the game with three hits unless he is injured. Also why is Gasper still on the Twins roster? He seems like a great guy but he is not a major league. Now that lemons us in a big slump it will be interesting to see what happens to him this off season.

Great article and responses. Ive never been a fan of Rocco mainly due to his lack of in game managing skills and his laid back attitude. He doesn't demand accountability nor does he accept it. Falvey and Baldelli with their big spread sheets and cybernetic overload is the biggest hurdle they must overcome. Both Baldelli and Falvey need to go.

Week in Review: Reality Sets In
Whitey333 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Hope and hype. That's what the Twins market. Is there any reason for realistic hope with the current list of can't miss prospects? People talk like prospects like Jenkins, Culpepper, Gonzales et al are guaranteed MLB stars. I hope so but we can surely make an impressive list of the current can't miss prospects that are missing. It's always the same. We got these great prospects coming up. Prospects are suspects until they prove themselves. We have too many of them that either don't make it or they level off at the mid to upper 20s- 47 replies
