  1. Good for Sonny and good move by the Twins IMO. There's no denying Sonny was fantastic last season. There is also no denying that Sonny has had injury problems in the past and he just turned 34 years old AND this was a career year. The Twins will recoup a comp pick which will be very similar to the pick they sent to Cincy to get Gray in the 1st place. Now let's see what the rest of the offseason brings.
  2. I think Balazovic for another season, but he really needs to work in the offseason. He has decent stuff, but he really needs to work on his out pitch. He throws way too many pitches by wasting them. I still think there is hope, but the clock is ticking.
  3. Who would you have had Gallo pinch hit for? The one spot Buxton did in Game 5? This is a pretty crazy nitpick if you ask me. I am a little surprised Funderburk wasn't added with the Astros lefties, but who do you replace? Varland or Paddock seem to be your only options, and in retrospect Paddock was dominate in the innings he got.
  4. Framber having an awful playoffs. Getting knocked around again. OF course, the Astros make zero errors and several excellent defensive plays in the 4 games against the Twins. Meanwhile Framber makes two errors on one play to really catapult that 1st inning assaults by Texas.
  5. So might as well just give it to Dave Roberts because the Dodgers won 104 games?
  6. I think it's a great piece. Managers can only do so much. The players have to perform. Love or hate taking Ryan out after 2, the move worked...the Twins bats just didn't show up enough to force a Game 5.
  7. We have no idea what the plan for Ryan was. It could have been once through the lineup all along. Abreu was the 3rd batter Thielbar faced, he was facing him no matter what when he was brought into the game. Thielbar was brought in to face Alvarez, Tucker, Abreu and Brantley. 3 lefties and a righty. Unfortunately Abreu beat him.
  8. Salas won't even be 21 yet on Opening Day and struggled hitting the ball in A+ this season. I can't see anyone taking him and keeping him on the roster all year long.
  9. It was 1-1 when Ryan was lifted in 3rd. The game finished 3-2. If the Twins had lost this game 8-6 and the bullpen got rocked you might have an argument, but the entire pen giving up 2 runs over 7 innings and losing because the offense couldn't muster more than 2 hits over the rest of the ballgame makes your point moot.
  10. How were they outmanaged? The bullpen game worked, Houston scored 3 runs. Twins offense scored 3 runs in 2 home games. How is that being out managed? That is the bats not getting it done, especially when they had a lot of opportunities. I don't get why so many people want to make Rocco the scapegoat. The bats didn't get it done. Hitting with RISP was abymsal and the reason they lost this series. In the AJ quote goes the same way. One Jose Abreu swing won the game, because the Twins couldn't match it. If anyone honestly thinks that Joe Ryan would have went 8 innings of one run ball and the Twins would have won 2-1? You gotta score to win games.
  11. After the fact you can nitpick everything. The bullpen was incredible. Thielbar threw one bad pitch to Abreu. Other than that the own was lights out for 7 innings. You couldn't have asked for much more. The Twins batters had 7 innings to score 2 runs to tie. Tayor was 2-13, 2 singles with 5 K's in the playoffs, I like the play with Buck, unfortunately he got jammed. I like the Twins future. They made it this far with a very inexperienced club. They got beat by a better team.
  12. The old "find elite cleanup hitter and find 1 or 2 elite pitchers" Welcome to every team's wishlist every season.
  13. The rest of the offense hasn't done a damn thing. I don't mind the Buck move one bit. The odds are against it, but why not? 2-3-4 coming up in the 9th.
  14. That's a game changing terrible strike 3 call
  15. Paddock looks electric, get to see! Need to get something going on offense. 1 run was never weigh to win this game.
  16. Stew was never going more than 1 inning
  17. Rocco doesn't want the Astros seeing Joe a 2nd time. So they pulled him. Like it or not, it happened.
  18. Going to take >4 runs to win this game.
