  1. How is trading for relief pitchers that have higher than average ERAs and blown saves galore improving the bullpen? They got Fulmer, who was having a good year last year, for not much. There was no Fulmer like pitcher traded this year.. So the choice was top reliever for top prospects, or a reliever not having a good year., or do nothing. The last choice was the option you railed against. So the second question is do you move top prospects for rentals?
  2. Fair enough assessment of the bullpen. Considering what was traded, do you dive up Rays and another top prospect for Sewell. Hicks went for decent prospects, Graveman went for decent prospects. It is all fine and Danny to want bullpen arms but the rest that were traded don’t seem to be all that different from what the Twins have.
  3. If anything should be learned from the Twins all these years is that good command and control will beat weaker teams. The better teams can find a way. The Twins have a history of command pitchers getting them to the playoffs
  4. Solid work at the A+ level will still get players released as it requires more than that for a reliever
  5. WillieCastro irreplaceable? Lewis, Lee, Larnach, Wallner, Julian,Prato and Miranda. If they retain Polanco and/or Kepler I think Castro is replaced. That doesn’t include the possibility of Gordon
  6. By touting where Taylor stands in cf rankings of ISO, in the context of the game of baseball this article shows the meaninglessness of the ISO stat on it’s own. Are the Twins better off with the “power” hitting Taylor rather than the player he was in KC,? Undoubtedly. Will the Twins be better off with a different CF? By WAR he is the 25th best CF with 300 PA.
  7. Outliers prove the issue is not as simple as just offer them the most money. I guess is just human nature to just think it is about the money
  8. If Kirilloff is 5 because of health, Lewis then must have been number 11.He missed all of 2021, most of 22 and 23.
  9. Gunnar fromBaltimore and the guy in Texas will be 1-2 in some order, with the guy from Japan in Boston 3 Julian if he does not falter would be 4 unless he goes on some amazing run. 6 weeks, anything can happen.
  10. A lot can still happen in 6 weeks. Gray will get top 5 votes but a lot of bad would have to happen for other to fall in the voting
  11. What Tampa Bay did with Deleon Young should be prosecuted. Not just because the got Garza and Bartlett. They turned Garza into Archer and useful players. They turned Archer into Meadows, Glasgow and Baez. They turned Meadows into Isaac Parades. 4 winning trades from Delmon Young.
  12. Solano has not hit the injured lest. Either the blogger is thinking of someone else , as 5 position players on the IL, or is being sloppy with the facts.
  13. The only way Rocco goes is if the front office goes.
  14. Not true on offer the most money. Dervish is the local example that comes to mind, Wheeler wanted to stay on the west coast. A player or two have expressed a desire to be in Texas
  15. There are people who will head lots of Mead if that is the rotation. Might have to be home fermented
  16. As lopsided as the trades turned out last year for controllable assets, there are pages wondering why there was very little trades this year. The rental trade was not lopsided. It did not provide much of a difference, either. Analytics must have gotten in the way of a trade for the sake of a trade or a trade that fizzles.
  17. Great OBP. It would lead the twins if he could maintain it. OPS 737. OK if he can maintain that. He would be a more productive player especially if the next 3 batters come through. The odds of that happening? Stranger things have happened. Perhaps next year he is the replacement for Michael A Taylor
  18. Traffic on the bases, still avoids runs at AAA. The game tonight should show you what that leads to against a good team
  19. Good catch once I got around to looking up how much time they had to be down.
  20. Looked it up, 20 or so days in the minors to count as being optioned. So he does have one more option year to toil
  21. Try again https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=bechto000and
  22. For the what ifs maybe a full season of Wallner and Bechtold and Williams getting a chance the Twins wouldn’t be running away with the division. Castro and Taylor have been fine role players but saving a season is hyperbole.
  23. Sorry it did not paste well he was optioned days before the season started April 13 was the day he was recalled April 13, 2022 Minnesota Twins recalled OF Trevor Larnach, and from St. Paul Saints. March 30, 2022 Minnesota Twins optioned OF Trevor Larnach to St. Paul Saints.
