  1. Outliers prove the issue is not as simple as just offer them the most money. I guess is just human nature to just think it is about the money
  2. If Kirilloff is 5 because of health, Lewis then must have been number 11.He missed all of 2021, most of 22 and 23.
  3. Gunnar fromBaltimore and the guy in Texas will be 1-2 in some order, with the guy from Japan in Boston 3 Julian if he does not falter would be 4 unless he goes on some amazing run. 6 weeks, anything can happen.
  4. A lot can still happen in 6 weeks. Gray will get top 5 votes but a lot of bad would have to happen for other to fall in the voting
  5. What Tampa Bay did with Deleon Young should be prosecuted. Not just because the got Garza and Bartlett. They turned Garza into Archer and useful players. They turned Archer into Meadows, Glasgow and Baez. They turned Meadows into Isaac Parades. 4 winning trades from Delmon Young.
  6. Solano has not hit the injured lest. Either the blogger is thinking of someone else , as 5 position players on the IL, or is being sloppy with the facts.
  7. The only way Rocco goes is if the front office goes.
  8. Not true on offer the most money. Dervish is the local example that comes to mind, Wheeler wanted to stay on the west coast. A player or two have expressed a desire to be in Texas
  9. There are people who will head lots of Mead if that is the rotation. Might have to be home fermented
  10. As lopsided as the trades turned out last year for controllable assets, there are pages wondering why there was very little trades this year. The rental trade was not lopsided. It did not provide much of a difference, either. Analytics must have gotten in the way of a trade for the sake of a trade or a trade that fizzles.
  11. Great OBP. It would lead the twins if he could maintain it. OPS 737. OK if he can maintain that. He would be a more productive player especially if the next 3 batters come through. The odds of that happening? Stranger things have happened. Perhaps next year he is the replacement for Michael A Taylor
  12. Traffic on the bases, still avoids runs at AAA. The game tonight should show you what that leads to against a good team
  13. Good catch once I got around to looking up how much time they had to be down.
  14. Looked it up, 20 or so days in the minors to count as being optioned. So he does have one more option year to toil
  15. Try again https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=bechto000and
  16. For the what ifs maybe a full season of Wallner and Bechtold and Williams getting a chance the Twins wouldn’t be running away with the division. Castro and Taylor have been fine role players but saving a season is hyperbole.
  17. Sorry it did not paste well he was optioned days before the season started April 13 was the day he was recalled April 13, 2022 Minnesota Twins recalled OF Trevor Larnach, and from St. Paul Saints. March 30, 2022 Minnesota Twins optioned OF Trevor Larnach to St. Paul Saints.
  18. It looks like Larnach has been optioned 3 different years. Unless they can finagle a fourth year option the Twins either have to keep him or trade him.
  19. 1n maybe 5 years the evenness of the trade can be determined. Lopez maintains for the length of the contract and Arraez leaves Miami as a free agent, the Twins win. Salas or Churrio develop, Twins win. WAR arguments. The limitations really is that WAR is not a very precise tool. Defensive WAR is a guess. RA/9 is in part determined by how good your fielders are. Defense must matter as is is part of position player WAR. It probably is not accurate to assume defensive war by team is equal. Yet you can’t ignore it, either whip has some value.. The fangraph’s glossary : WAR is not meant to be a perfectly precise indicator of a player’s contribution, but rather an estimate of their value to date. Given the imperfections of some of the available data and the assumptions made to calculate other components, WAR works best as an approximation. The imprecision may have a point of normalization, but it might take 1000 games played
  20. There is always a chance, Just ask Detroit about the last 2 games
  21. Kevin Millar Nothing wrong with developing a decent backup. There is no shame there There is value there. Last year should have proved that notion.
  22. I guess your eyes didn’t see all the scalp trotted out last year in the outfield Your eyes do not see the players that do not hit their stride in till after age 28. Your eyes didn’t see Kierley lost development time due to covid and injuries. Your eyes must have missed that Buxton has not played the outfield this year and has not played in three seasons worth of games before that If it is only potential all stars you want developed good luck fielding a team in the minors Nobody said to hand him a starting job. He is a player that so far this year has shown something.
  23. The value can be found by looking back at the OF used as replacements. There are a lot that have supplied less than replacement value. With the ongoing injuries if Kierkegaard can be an above average bat and an above average defender at all 3 OF positions. That is even if the career might only be a few years
