One win in four games, but it still was a beautiful day for baseball. First, looks like Farmer has his swing back and is ready to rejoin the Twins on Tuesday. Second, what a wonderful start from Enlow. Nine K's in six innings, wow! Agree with those above regarding his chances of being back on the 40-man should he continue pitching like this throughout the summer. And finally, welcome back ERod. Expect it will take a few games or a week to get back in the swing, but can't wait to see him hitting the ball by mid-month.

Very interesting question. Truth is, however, that you may be talking about what will remain a question/concern also in the future. Where is Royce Lewis going to play come summer? Ain't gonna be shortstop, unless Correa is injured. Third is likely the next best option. With Miranda not likely to be a first baseman, his remaining role is DH. Does that make sense? Does anyone know where Lewis is playing now that he is playing with the EST group in Florida?

Ober reminds me of a pitcher I recall was the number three starter for my Braves 65 or so years ago, Gene Conley. Big tall kid who was a heck of a middle of the rotation starter. Only difference I see is Bailey doesn’t play for the Boston Celtics in the off season.

You're Wrong to Not Like Max Kepler
roger replied to Greggory Masterson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Have been a huge fan of Max since he came up. So count me among those that hope like heck he is still a Twin in 2024. Beyond that, just don't know. So unlike many of you I like him, a lot. But then I also appreciate pitching, running the bases AND defense more than most. -
Twins Minor League Report (5/5): History Made in St. Paul
roger replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
He was 1-3 in game one and 2-3 in the second game, 3-6 for the day. Still hell of a day. Gotta wonder how good this young man will be as he takes those last two steps? Amazing considering a year ago he was still in college.- 12 replies

Twins Minor League Report (5/4): May the Fourth Be With Them
roger replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Double down on the positive comments about Rosario. Not only did he get four hits last night, he is 8-12 this week. I understand that EST or the Complex League teams are playing some games. I don't think their box scores can be found anywhere. At last report, Royce Lewis is playing in some of these games. Do any of the guys at TD who are in the know have any information on how he is doing?- 3 replies

May have nailed the problem, chpettit19. Gotta believe that they will flip Larnach and AK. Question is, how soon? Also becoming concerned with Miranda's bat. Had a couple nice games, what was it a week ago? But otherwise nothing like last year.

Another good game by AK. Another week and he should be back with the Twins? The Twins need Alcala back in their pen by mid-June at the latest. No runs, but three walks remains a concern. I know he missed last year, hopefully, he will get the rust off soon. Also exciting seeing Jordy B making a start. Thought the results were positive. And Henriguez starting a rehab assignment is also positive. Has anyone heard how his first couple games have been for Farmer, other than the results? Is he having any psychological problems getting back in the batters box?

Not a good day for an article discussing Larnach's status after what was it, four K's last night? All I remember is the seventh with the bases loaded and our 2-3-4 hitters coming up. I continue to believe that AK will be a special hitter. Saw he had two hits again last night. Sure looks to me that should Larnach continue hitting like of late for another week or so, AK is up and Larnach is in St. Paul. That also solves the problem of how they create an opening for AK without losing Gordon, who has been hitting like last year the last couple games. The Twins sure as heck need some clutch hitting, will AK be part of the answer?

Twins Minor League Report (5/2): Errors and Extras
roger replied to Steve Lein's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Also interested in seeing how Jordy B does in his first start of the year. This kid has talent, hopefully, he will get off to a good start to his season. Great seeing Miller with a couple hits. Saw his error was only the second of the year.- 16 replies

Twins Daily Pitcher of the Month: April 2023
roger replied to Theodore Tollefson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Remain hopeful that Gray will maintain this level of pitching well into the season. Yes, he is going to have a couple clunkers. Hopefully, a clunker for him will be 5+ innings with 3 runs. Should he maintain this level of pitching, would love to see the Twins extend him for another 3 or 4 years. Lopez, Gray, Ryan, Paddack, and Ober with Varland and SWR at St. Paul would make a nice rotation going into 2024.- 16 replies

Twins Minor League Week in Review (4/24-4/30)
roger replied to Jeremy Nygaard's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Ever since moving from Beloit to Cedar Rapids you could count on the Kernels to be winners. Lots of ball remaining this year, but it’s looking like it might be a long season. Really want to see Lewis and ERod back on the diamond.- 9 replies

Twins Minor League Hitter of the Month - April 2023
roger replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Thanks for the mention, Cody, that Cossetti is catching two-thirds of the time. My question to anyone who has seen him and knows something about catching, is he any good behind the plate? We all know that the Twins badly need a few catching prospects in the organization. Would be great if this kid can be one. To be honest, a bit surprised with how well Severino is doing. Don't recall if it was last year or the year before, but he was a disappointing signing considering all the money they threw at him. Have always liked Contreras. If I owned the Twins, he is the type of player I would always want to have on my AAA team as an injury replacement. On the other hand, if I owned the Twins I just may be sitting on a island somewhere drinking my favorite local drink and not thinking about baseball.- 19 replies

Week in Review: Slaying Demons and Smacking Dingers
roger replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Thanks for the summary, Nick. It is a refreshing read when someone's writing is brutally honest. I see their move when Farmer comes back next Monday as Castro going down to St. Paul. That leaves AK as the one player needing to be activated with Gordon the most likely departure. That is unless there is an injury to Gallo, Keps, or Larnach? Gonna be interesting.- 17 replies

Nick Gordon Deserves Another Chance
roger replied to Adam Friedman's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Whether they act when AK/Farmer return or have an injury or some roster engineering, I don't see him remaining a Twin beyond summer when Lewis returns. Although I expect him to be moved, I believe the Twins should be able to trade this young man for some type of prospect. -
Alex Kirilloff and Embracing the Unknown
roger replied to Greggory Masterson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
True, true and true. Doesn't diminish my desire, and hope, that this kid will be back and 100% healthy, soon. Although they are all lefties, could play three of Gallo, Larnach, AK and Keps every night with each getting every fourth game off. Could even add a few days of DH for that group when Buxton gets his scheduled maintenance day or begins playing a few games in center. Now I don't know who gets sent down when both AK and Farmer return, but that decision is what the Front Office gets paid the big bucks for. -
I pray, Nashvilletwin, that Noah Miller ain't going anywhere other than Target Field in a few years. Please. I see him as the heir apparent to Correa when he moves to third. Although he didn't get a hit yesterday, Lee is having a very solid start to the season. Considering he was midway through his last season of college ball last April, doing this well at AA is huge. HUGE! Another nice outing by Reggie Grace. Gonna have to keep my eye on this kid. And the best tidbit of information in this entire report is that Lewis is on the field, playing baseball. Thanks for the report, Seth, they are appreciated.

Alex Kirilloff and Embracing the Unknown
roger replied to Greggory Masterson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I don't care about arbitration, service time or anything else talked about above. I believe this kid will be the real deal and I want him crushing the ball for the Twins at Target Field and on the road. Now! -

Twins 7, Royals 1: Big Arms Bring Back Bombas
roger replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Thanks for a great report, Sherry. After the game they referred to Mahle's problem as general soreness. Let's hope that all he needs is 15 days on IL then back in the rotation. Will know more today, although they were saying they didn't think he would even be sent for imaging. Cannot be happier for Stewart and how great he looked. Granted, the KC lineup isn't the best he will face. But he sure looked great. After everything he went thru over the last four years, his return had to be emotional. Interesting comment from him in today's Strib where he talked about breaking down while sitting alone on the flight from Rochester to Charlotte to MSP. Will he be this year's surprise bullpen stud coming out of nowhere? Sure as heck hope so!- 32 replies

Twins Minor League Report (4/27): Saints March Home Early
roger replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Won four on Tuesday, then lost four on Wednesday. Great to come back with four wins yesterday. Was last night Miller's first game at second base? Also saw AK was hit by a pitch. I pray it wasn't in his hand/wrist. Was it? Did he stay in the game?- 18 replies

Won 4 of 4 yesterday. Then drop all four last night. That's .500 baseball, which is how this season seems to be headed. Nice seeing DeAndrade getting two hits. See he has been hitting well early this season. What do we know about his defense at short? Would be nice to have one of those bigger International signings make it big. Thanks for the report, Seth.

Gotta wonder if Maeda was still feeling effects of line drive to his ankle. Also seemed he hurt something in the second inning when falling on that bunt. Don’t know if he needs the IR and rehab assignment. But seems they better be planning on Ober making his next start.
