  1. @Riverbrian Julien is at it again in the 3rd inning. Leadoff hit, C4 & buck get BB, Lewis….. grand slam🤯
  2. I remember that game last September just before we clinched when Julien came up to bat in the 9th with RISP against a lefty. Oh wait, nope. Vasquez pinch hit for him. What a waste of an opportunity. The game ended on that weak attempted AB by a catcher in a slump.
  3. Julien just ripped one out of the park, lead off home run. in 8 at bats that don’t matter, Julien has. .625/.667/1.125/1.792 slash line 🎯👈🏻🤩
  4. This years roster actually looks like we have luxury payroll with high paid bench players vs. some of the starters. It really means the FO did great at buying depth and AAA is loaded with talented youth. All this and a reduced payroll. By the end of may, we will probably have an injury or 4 and the young guns across the river better be ready. If anyone remembers last years opening day roster, it lasted about 4 days.
  5. Julien and Miranda isn't a great comparison. Especially comparing an injured Miranda to Julien. Juliens plate discipline is elite. His chase rate was the best in MLB. He has something that most hitters wish they had. Julien hasn't even gotten into his prime yet and he does make the adjustments he needs to. Its a good bet that he will continue to keep pitchers on the defensive. Thats what he does. He wont always be our 2nd baseman, dor now he is. We need to enjoy the show in ‘24. The kid is gonna tear it up.
  6. Even if all 3 of those guys implode, there is 6-8 more guys right behind them to take over. The possibilities thru the depth will take care of the BP.
  7. Someone, please teach the man how to play defense and strikeout less. Then add him to the varsity roster.
  8. One of Schobel and Keaschall will definitely be traded. Maybe both but I can see one of them playing Farmers role in 2026 and beyond. Do we bring them to MLB to prove they can play first to raise their trade value?
  9. This years draft is deep again and we have 5 picks in the top 99. I would be shocked if they didnt end up with some sort of 1C, 2 SS/3B/2B and 2 college pitchers. They finally figured out to draft the best athletes and find a home for them when they start hitting breaking balls in MLB.
  10. Buck is 30 all season. Even at 31,32,33 he will be prime time. He may age like others that produced better and stayed healthier in their 30s vs 20s.
  11. Spot on analogy. The sum of the parts can total so much more when it all jells together. The built in redundancy in this team is another strength. Jake Cave is not our 4th outfielder. Manuel Margo is and could be lights out in his role to solidify off days. He buys the kids time to get their development in AAA. Santana and Farmer will play that role in the infield. It’s a great mix that could really be special!
  12. Not even worried about 2nd base production. We traded 3 guys in a year and the pipeline is at least 8 deep. As much as I loved Arraez, Pablo is more important to the team. Juliens long term home isnt 2B so get the next all star 2B ready and install him when he is ready… we can make room for Julien elsewhere. All star DH comes to mind while being the backup at 1B and 2B. Any way you slice up the infield AB’s, we got room for more young talent.
  13. We haven’t actually seen a large sample of a healthy Buck and C4 affect games at the same time. No body really knows the upside of that scenario. 95wins? How good could this get?
  14. 1B will probably end up a major strength of the team. A healthy AK and Miranda can really rip the cover off the ball.
  15. It got deeper with the last trade for sure. The ‘24 team could be one of the best twins teams ever. I believe we are heading in the right direction for sure but not because ownership is as supportive as they could be.
  16. No amount of money can avoid injuries. Depleting a roster by august and not paying for depth causes loses. Playing AAA guys that aren’t ready for MLB because you have no other choice is gross miss management.
  17. So they pay $44M 40 years ago and its now worth $1.5B along with the Family business total net worth north of $9B and they still can’t/won’t spend enough to insure an above average season result. Analytics is pretty easy. Just Buy enough WAR at a decent price and go win games. Put fans in the seats and make a profit. Spend more to make more. That approach works well in the sports industry. The FO does a good job at evaluating risk for the most part. Ownership can’t be letting them maximize the offseason opportunities tho.
  18. Same though here, If his fastball was averaging 96.3 and he touched 98, I would use the term “gas”. It’s definitely nice to see him get the issues worked out tho! I hope it shows results in ‘24 with a better era/whip/fip
  19. Thats not the kind of optimism that I want in a SP. the guy seems lost on what to throw on a 2 strike count. Yikes.
  20. He doesn’t have chronic issues. What has happened to him could happen to anyone and its all fixable. He is 100%healthy now and we should expect nothing less than his best season of his career being that he is 30yo (prime time) C4 should be All Star Gold glove and Mr. Playoffs 1200 OPS. Anything less based on his paycheck will be a disappointment.
