  1. * “Intent to explore a sale” ….. gotta love how lawyers use the wordsmithing in the English language. Joe Pohlad to his legal counsel. “No lowball offers. I know what I have. Its been right sized.”
  2. Just a few years away from taking in that same experience. So jealous!
  3. If you as the FO can’t figure out how to pay Castro $6M, You should be fired. Non tendering him would be criminal.
  4. The Pohlads should either sell the team or hire enough good players to win a WS. Bantering about who to keep and where to play them is fun but at the end of the day, its just a fun exchange of ideas. With all the elite MiLB talent coming up and some already arriving in ‘23/24, we are poised to be very young and very frustrating at times. The next couple seasons may not be WS chasers but then look at the D.tiggers…. Its a way better team scenario to watch than retreads like Margot and Pagan….
  5. I read and understood the same. The issue I have is that the Pohlads own diverse businesses and have income and wealth streams from several industries. No one can honestly say that they don’t know people and legal counsel that did anything but tell them. “Your most profitable solution is the kick the can down the road and FOLLOW what others are going to do.” and THEN the PR blew up in their face.
  6. Because the $$$$ talked and ownership didn’t care if their product was ever delivered to the fans. Ownership is to blame for its own decisions to take revenue from people that rarely or never turned on bsn. Chasing revenue and ignoring your customers is a great business plan 🤦‍♂️
  7. We first need to figure out why we went 12-27 down the stretch and not 27-12. 1. We didn’t have enough MLB non slumpy hitters. Our RISP was horrible most games. 2. We didn’t have enough pitching. 3 rookies in the rotation and gramma’s quilting club sewed together a bullpen of alley cats that couldn’t find a win. Clubs tear down to build up a farm system, we already have a top5 farm. And it is not just top heavy, its 4 layers deep. ‘25 is going to be a deep dive into youngsters regardless of FA signings or trades, Ownership and the FO will be betting on themselves and the farm system. No tear down, No rebuild, full speed ahead with $132M in salary and 3-6 more rookies debuting. Catching lightning in a bottle or bust in ‘25.
  8. He will be given every chance to be the #4 SP. he produced like a #3 in 11 games in ‘24. He may be sent to the pen in july/aug but then he might have a 3,2 era and 1.2 whip and ride his way to a contract extension. He might be lights out as a 6/7th inning shutdown RP. Lord knows we need 2 of those guys! He will not be traded cause we never have enough pitching. Note to JPohlad, spend some of your $$$$ to right size your business.
  9. Castro may be tendered a multi year contract. He isn’t exactly replaceable until another young guy puts up numbers better than him. AK is a prime bounce back candidate and mid season trade. Duran and Topa are both needed in the bullpen and deserve to make a few $M and they need to produce accordingly.
  10. At 1.8M AK will be a bargain if he is healthy and productive. I know. Gigantic IF.
  11. Agreed. The big$, long term contracts won’t be given to as many guys this offseason outside of a select few. I hate to say it but I fear the Pohlads becoming even cheaper.
  12. Does anyone think that salaries may stagnate for a few years?
  13. It sure took long enough to get here. Can we also get the next step in development underway where 1 or 2 become better than the #5/6 mlb starter. KC and Detroilet both won playoff games last night….. note to Joe Pohlad….. you failed at right sizing your MLB payroll in ‘24. Do better in ‘25 by not leaning too heavy on all these young kids.
  14. Its most likely over for ‘24. They are young and tired.
  15. I will forever be excited to see prospects play in the AFL. Someday, Arizona will be my retirement destination and the AFL will be my daily entertainment!
  16. We clearly draft a high percentage of bat first players. When we play in house money ball, we end up with young guys where are streaky…. Still way better than the type of organization we were a decade ago.
  17. We clearly had too much pitching…. Until we didn’t. How do they always bet so badly on pitchers?
  18. We don’t have near the pitching development that Tampa has. We never have enough of it and Pablo is not expensive. His contract is fairly priced. the Pohlads will get plenty of bargain out of the 3 rookies over the next 3-4 years and hopefully 3 -5 more youngsters over the next 2 years develop into solid mlb options.
  19. The Pohlads need to either spend $$ to field a championship team or sell it to someone who will. Pablo will retire as a Twin. Hopefully in 8-10 yrs from now and be a member of the Twins wall of fame.
  20. C4 will likely be at SS in ‘25 but in ‘26 I can see him moving to 3rd. Lee at SS, Lewis at 1st and Keaschall at 2nd with Culpepper in AAA waiting for the injury call up.
  21. Now to score some runs boys!!
  22. Not sure if he has been but we need to pay him enough to stay here. He is a defensive genius.
  23. Probably has hurt to be one for a long time! looking out at the schedule. Its possible the vikes could be 7-3 or 8-2 in the first 10. Every team in our division looks beatable.
  24. There is nothing more important than baseball when you are getting paid to play the game. Bender should be banned from the game.
