  1. I generally lack patience when it comes to slow rolling development of prospects when they clearly show signs of being mlb ready. No one is a finished product and young men need to be promoted and play until they fail. The faster they fail, the faster they are forced to adjust and up their skillset. Coddling them doesn’t seem to work. Erod should be on the opening day roster as the starting LF. Let’s get this party started, its inevitable.
  2. Keaschall will probably have an opportunity to play 1B or anywhere else we need him this year if his bat plays in AA and AAA. Anyone worried about the TJ surgery paid no attention to what Otani did in ‘24. Yes, he played DH but he also threw a baseball around. He just didn’t pitch. It would be awesome to have an athletic 1B that is also leadoff and steals bases. Baseball is changing to where you need guys on base, swipe some runs and outscore the other team 7-4. Its also a reason to have a lockdown bullpen so the opponents offense is effectively done after 6 nnings.
  3. @DJL44 considering that for 2 decades, we were absolutely horrible at pitching drafting and development. We are significantly better at it since 2017. I will give some credit to college programs for sure. LSU obviously had alot to do with making skenes mlb ready.
  4. So by your logic, Cade Povich has to be counted. The O’s got him at 90% mlb ready. SWR spent more time in our org than Povich did so he has to count.
  5. Not much love for Raya at #5 here. Understanding why the Twins don’t let him pitch deeper into games shouldn’t be so hard. They have a plan and so far its working great because he is pitching in AAA at 22 yo. He is going to be in the show soon enough so sit back and enjoy his journey to MLB!! We have been waiting for a decade to actually experience what a great pitching pipeline is like and now that we have one and a 22 yo in the middle of the next wave should be exciting for every fan. Is winter over yet?? <———- something better to complain about than a prospect…..
  6. I’d bet on this kid putting it together and refining his skills. He is a class act that wont fade away like others.
  7. If K Rosario was closer to MLB ready. He would have been protected. Helman would be a free agent if he were outrighted off the 40man. This way, both stay in the organization.
  8. Larnach and Julien so they can throw in a lottery ticket prospect along with Luzardo
  9. That could be a legit argument but last season everyone had thrown Miranda away. I would expect all those kids you mentioned to up their game and fill any open spot. I’d hope the Fo brings an allstar vet IF but the chances are zero %.
  10. We don’t need another infielder. Probably make a trade or two but there is no budget room for a big FA signing. I can see Rosario getting nabbed as a 5th OF. Similar to how Akil Badoo got picked. There might be a RH OF rule 5 guy out there somewhere. I hope we don’t go that route tho.
  11. Ownership is going to have to open up more salary if we trade prospects for proven vets. Honestly, it seems like the FO is leaning heavily into keeping prospects and going thru the development growing pains.
  12. It sure would be exciting to watch erod have a ROY type season for us. We are due for another great young OF!!
  13. The Twins don’t have a higher average of Milb pitching injuries compared to any other organization.
  14. As a college age player, his D is already a plus and with a few refinements to his swing, he could be in AAA by the end of ‘25. Its all about how quick his bat will play in the upper minors. He wont be in Iowa long.
  15. So young but so special. At age 22, everyone in baseball will be talking about the phenom. MLB ROY 2027.
  16. That can’t even be considered an actual plan that will work for 162 games. The reality of how bad that is has to scare even the pohlads.
  17. For every prospect that makes it, there are dozens of these guys that don’t. Sad truth. Professional sports is unforgiving to most humans. They are both young enough to make some filler spot money in the minors but unlikely they will make the show and be solid role players.
  18. Which leads to another question, is it viable to have 4 guys team up to throw 3-4 innings each in the SP rotation instead of back of the rotation guys trying to throw 5-7 innings and burning out in August or blowing a lead the 3rd time around the batting order. Have SP 4a/4b & 5a/5b plan and prepare to pitch all out every 5th day. Get 9-12 outs and then bring in the mid inning bridge guy to get another 9-12 outs.
  19. Not much to like or dislike. He does seem to be overrated as much as overlooked.
  20. Is there any reason that Varland/ Canterino/ Priellip/Raya can’t be used in the pen this year if thats what works for their development and down the road, move to a SP during an offseason if thats whats best for production? I understand lots of things go into those decisions but RP’s seem to just be failed SP’s. Can anyone explain why young arms that aren’t ready for 150-200 innings per season can’t be developed and used out of the pen until they show the durability and pitch mix to go 6-7 innings?
  21. Rosario looks like a young Rooker in his K rate and defense but better on the bases. When he starts dropping the K rate, he will be in St. Paul and right behind erod for a injury call up. Probably not until ‘26 and Jenkins will be in that discussion. Whats the chance Rosario knocks the MLB door down in ‘25. Probably less than 20% but thats ok because he is still so young. Get the kid 500 more PA and watch his growth! Has Ross found his bat?? How exciting would that be to see another infielder find his stride in the upper minors. The farm truck is full of talent!
  22. Can Buck play another 7-8 yrs? He barely played the last 7 or 8. That either means he will be gone before we know it or he will be here forever if he finds a way to stay on the field. I would not bet on the latter, the dude is fragile and reckless.
