100% They must have seen something that Castellano has that made them want him. No idea what but Id bet he sticks thru May just to see what he has.

There is room for Henriquez on the 26man but some young arms will have to start the season in AAA. A definite possibility of 2 guys on the 40 man will be traded for 1 and a minor leaguer.

Jenkins and erod are 2years apart as they are entering their 20 &22 yo seasons respectively. If Jenkins is a phenom and makes it to MLB in ‘25, he is simply special. When Erod shows up in ‘25, he is right on time to play 12-15 mlb seasons. Does it really matter if he burnt 1 option year? Its much more important to put the flooky injury bug behind him and be a building block in our OF. Dylan Crews is exactly 1 yr older than Erod, Is he considered a slow moving prospect?

RH is in our bullpen in ‘25 and he should be solid. Does anyone really think the new owners care if Paddack is getting 4M or 7.5M and if he is a SP or RP? When they look at the market, what is a 29yo that will be pitching his 2nd full year back from his last TJ surgery worth? Yes, ‘24 was disappointing but we aren't playing that season again. Spring training is a few weeks away and we will likely see a better, deeper pitching staff and Paddack will be right in the middle of it.

Since we don’t know what has been agreed upon at any of the meetings, its hard to speculate about sale price, team salary, moratorium on trades, tons of issues. It is interesting to point out how all the arbitration players signed contracts and didn’t go to arbitration. No player has been dumped for salary relief. No blockbuster trade. No high prices free agent signing. A full 40 man roster. Its as if the FO has been told to stand pat.

5 Minnesota Twins Prospect Storylines to Follow in 2025
Fatbat replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
@DocBauer please don’t ever keep it brief!! TW needs you to hit the nail on the head more. Not that you haven’t, just that it happens regularly and it’s a great read every time you pontificate! Even tho this offseason has been laughably slow, Twins fans have a lot to be excited about! A strong returning core of vets and young stars finding their way in MLB. A top 5starting rotation. A top 5 farm system. An abundance of question marks and the young depth to fill all the answer slots. A few promising young superstars in the high minors that may smash their way through to MLB in just a few months! Most importantly, we will have new ownership that will set a tone for the ‘25/26 seasons and beyond. No more tone deaf “right sizing” silliness from the past 2 decades. It will be like that feeling of buying a new car when the Pohlads are traded in. Everything will smell fresh. The cherry on top, we will be able to watch all this play out and every pitch of every game without taking out a second mortgage. Last season was ridiculous when the service providers couldn't do their job to get the product to the fans. The ‘25 season may become special for so many reasons and @DocBauer, please don’t be brief about what you want to say.- 31 replies

Moving a pro sports franchise in the future is going to be extremely difficult. Their arent many unsaturated markets and stadiums cant get bigger, just better. We have the stadium so all ownership has to do is put a great product on the field and they will make a profit. The I Brothers like to diversify markets in their businesses so what better way than for them to buy a franchise half way across the country. Just this single move makes them hometowners’ if they want to expand their banking business. We should be excited for fresh ownership!!

Why would we want to trade for a mediocre player to block the pathway for our rookie class?

5 Minnesota Twins Prospect Storylines to Follow in 2025
Fatbat replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
This could be 3 straight years with incredible rookie classes. As a new ownership group takes over, there is no way the FO trades away young controllable assets. The WS window is open for years and now is not the time to pay extra to go all in on one missing piece. We aren’t there yet. With that being said, Vasquez is probably the most likely to be in a trade package. Expect to watch a team that looks remarkably like last year, possibly with a rookie on the 26 man. Get excited to see LK, Erod, Raya and 3-4 more guys either knock the mlb door down or make cameo appearances before the trade deadline. Jenkins could be our Evan Carter in September/Oct!!!- 31 replies

If LK busts out as a Rookie this year. There are a couple guys that may get sent out via trade by the deadline. Most of our top 20 assets has at least 3 seasons of team control. We are young and have a large window of playoff success ahead of us.

But he has never has a RP role for a full season. Other roles haven’t worked out so this is the next logical pathway.

And so concludes my Golden Anniversary Year

This is the best write up that I have read on Twins Daily. Just my humble opinion. Thank you! -
The team is not cash strapped and the Pohlads will be gone by May1. Paddack absolutely could have a Jax/Duran type season in the bullpen. 2WAR equates to twice his salary so he could become a huge bargain.

There are a few reasons that Paddack is not overpriced and he will not be traded. #1 he is another year removed from TJ surgery. #2 he is young enough to still become an allstar talent pitcher. #3 The Pohlads will not be paying his salary so stop protecting their pocket book. #4 The FO has probably been told not to make any MLB deals due to the pending team sale unless there is a gross overpay by a club wanting a younger role player. As bad as Paddack was at times last season, he could be an allstar reliever in ‘25 based on how well his stuff plays up in short outings. He won’t be going anywhere.

Sabato and before that Cavaco. The 1st round picks ran thru a horrible few picks for years. Is it really that hard to pick a decent player early in a draft? Rosario and Raya could still be MLB regulars but I do agree that the 2020 draft was sub par.

I think we have enough outfielders that don't hit much. Lets not get more of that. It would be interesting to figure out what went wrong with Harold Ramirez
