  1. Yup. We basically dumped Helman for a 2yr $9M Bader contract. Not exactly a Pohlad type salary dump.
  2. He doesn’t need a non roster invite because he is on the 40 man. ….. I missed it also 🤦‍♂️
  3. Keaschall yes, Jenkins no is simple. Jenkins isnt MLB ready and if everyone in front of Keaschall fails, he will be in MLB (leading off and raking) while starting at 2B. Could happen as early as April. ….. and where is Erod? EDIT….. erod isnt a nonroster invite because he is already on the 40 man roster 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
  4. That is most probable! I was leaning towards Kiersey playing well above replacement value to sell tickets. Yes I know, improbable! Bader is just another replacement level OF free agent role player. He might play above his career averages which would be great for the team, I just don’t want another Margot/Gallo situation. I also don’t want another Cellestino or Cave situation.
  5. Not to hijack the thread but if the new owner decides to clean house of a FO that has a top 3 bullpen and top 5 Farm system, what are we going to get with a new front office?
  6. Wasn’t Bader signed for 2 reasons? Plus defense and right handed bat to add platooning and pinch hitting to the roster? Sounds like Falvey gave Rocco half of what he has been asking for in the defense/lineup end. Add in a LH RP and Rocco has 2/3 of his roster needs filled.
  7. Kiersey sells more tickets than Bader. Any rookie that has a great call up season sells tickets. MN loves feel good stories. The Pohlads are going after selling to the highest bidder. They don’t care about the fans.
  8. There really isn't a reason to dump Castro and his Salary. In ‘24, the Twins collected roughly $20M in TV distribution fees while slashing player salary. Now with the team being sold in the next 90 days, it’s clear that the buyer is on board with spending more in ‘25. The Pohlads have given the FO the go ahead on spending more. The FO obviously wants to keep there employment status as is, so they will field a team that has the potential to win…. and win alot. You all are bound by past constraints if you think its business as usual in the FO.
  9. He might be a natural! Or he could just plain not be good at it. Someone internal has to grab that position and be good at it. I have never understood why a team would platoon 1B. For Baldelli to trot out 3-5 different guys a month has to have a negative effect on defensive efficiency! It would make sense that over the offseason, Castro has been approached with the idea before it was made public. Maybe he has been taking reps for months to focus development on 1B to see if its even viable. Same could be said for Julien. Julien doesn’t seem as viable because he just isn’t that athletic. He just looks slow/mechanical. Not fluid or natural and that has disaster red flag 🚩 flying, screaming don’t go there, written in caps. If Castro hasn’t been putting some work in this offseason, that could be just as disastrous. Miranda, if healthy and focusing on full time 1B, he could actually be serviceable. His bat plays there (when not in a slump) Maybe he can mature as a player and focus being serviceable at D and hit the cover off the ball.
  10. Culpepper could end up being one of the better 1st round picks in the last decade. He shows great athleticism on the field and works his butt off in skill development. His drive to be the best will get him to MLB faster than some realize. I would expect him to thrive at AA because its a hitting league. Having him, Keaschall, Eeles, Schoebel, Amick and Debarge along with plenty of others developing their craft in the minors is why we have such a highly ranked farm system. (Haven’t even got to the international signings)Drafting great athletes with high character seems simple enough and we have definitely done well at it. Culpepper is the guy to watch this spring. Hoping he is a Saint by August so I can watch him in person!
  11. Or Eeles bats .3/4/500 out of tge gate in April. He will get a shot by July. There are always injuries. Someone always underperforms.
  12. Right. Lots of moving parts and 7 is plenty if everyone stays healthy. Helman isn’t exactly nonreplacable. Eeles or Keaschall are right on his heals and what other team would claim him off waivers? Same conversation for probably 5 other guys on our 40 man.
  13. We are overloaded with infielders as well. I can’t see a way that a LHP will be taken off the 40man.
  14. Travis Adams and Julien seems like a fair trade for Casas.
  15. There is a trade in the works. We have enough pitching. One of the previous statements is false.
  16. It doesn’t have to be a pitcher that is dropped off the 40 man. Could be Garper/Helman/Kiersey….lots to consider
  17. I expect to see the best 2 rookie classes in’25 & ‘26. Several guys with a full tool box from hitting to defense and of course pitchers that are going to make picking up 34 yo burn outs an obsolete roster construction plan. If the new ownership is patient enough, our championship window will be open into the 2030s…
  18. A good history lesson and the twins would be wise to change with the times and not just follow the crowd. Selling out last year for short term $$$ was a disaster. Hopefully the new ownership isn't so short sighted!
  19. We still have a huge pipeline of young guys. We only need 2 of about 12 to take a step forward. I like those odds. They will all contribute something in ‘25 and beyond. Most teams would love to have our entire pitching staff and its issues.
  20. Im old school. I like wins and losses<-(not so much) saves and holds tell enough for me. Blown saves is a good indicator of things going south with a closer.
  21. Absolutely. I should have mentioned Topa but his lost ‘23 season caused me to forget how good he was in ‘22. ‘25 needs to be a boom year.
  22. They are in their prime and they will dominate. If Stewart, Alcala and Sands are healthy and thriving, we will be lights out after 6 innings. Shorten the game at Target Field and no one will want to play here.
  23. Like others state, does it matter where he is in the prospect rankings? Where he needs to be is at Target field. Because of his hard work during his childhood, he will get a shot in the show soon. He just works that damn hard. His metrics are beyond solid. At AA when he hits .3/4/5 and ups his barrel rate, he will be moved to AAA. Rinse and repeat and he will make his debut. When? When he is ready. July 15th ‘25 is probably the sooner/later betting line.
