  1. Well he stopped quickly when he slipped on the ice and tore his acl #1 time & he stopped just as quickly when hitting the wall and tore his acl #2 time so there is that. He also stopped playing immediately after tearing his quad. Stopping can be painful.
  2. If CP is lights out the 1st 90 days and can work 4 innings, he will be added to the 40 man as soon as an injury happens and the twins need a lefty. He has the highest ceiling of all the LHP depth. He may just knock the door down.
  3. All the ex twins didn’t work out so well for the cards. the only starters throwing 200 innings are the 3 playoff starters and they shouldn’t be throwing the 200th inning until its in the post season.
  4. Agreed. and its going to boil down to who is healthy in Sept/Oct. Is the team killing it and focusing on a deep playoff run? If HEALTHY, we know who our 3 post season starters will be and Paddack will look great sitting out in the bullpen next to Varland.
  5. Yeah, historically, he gets hurt, wears down, throws garbage. The Twins have 10 possible starters and most of them won’t throw 200 innings. Its the quality of the pitching and not so much about quantity. 100/150/200, why care about how much each guy throws. Stay healthy and throw great stuff .
  6. Still protecting the pocket book of a billionaire. Plenty of guys have turned their career around after 29. He is depth that could shine. He is even relatively cheap.
  7. He just turned 29 yo. He is young and if his stuff plays up without injury, he might have a career year!!! There are a ton of question marks with him and really the whole team but it could be one heck of a pitching staff with all the young talent and guys poised to knock the mlb door down!
  8. Freeman has to be included because if he had had a season ending injury in say June’24. The butterfly affect may well have taken out the Dodger WS chances. Im penciling the twins and C4 into the’25 WS record books as “Champs”
  9. Not many saw SWR knocking the mlb door down last year. We might have EC and others do the same this year. Great potential in EC to be on our Pstaff for a decade!
  10. Its debatable for a few reasons that don't diminish his talent. The team has other rising stars that might just steal the spot from him. There is also just so many spots and IF the bullpen is full of healthy horses, Eberson Castellano may be in the 5 hole to see what he has for a couple starts. If EC flames out, next man up and EC goes back to bean town. with so many good young arms, there will be plenty of roster flexibility and its a long season. Starts in July/Aug/Sept mean more than April/May
  11. Well its way too early to give up on Lee! He had a herniated disc in his back last spring. He has a couple more years until he hits his prime and will likely be a solid MLB’r this season. The whole season. There was a lot of Lewis hype for sure but there was always reluctance to say he was “cant miss”. he had a big leg kick, a busy swing, committed errors. Etc. Now we know that he is buxton type fragile. Maybe thats in the past tho. The biggest knock on player development seems to be the coaches trying to turn everyone into a utility guy. Thats a strategy for a few players/prospects but not half of your team just because you have “very athletic guys”. Yes, we draft a lot of up the middle defenders. Why? Because the best athletes play the hardest defensive positions when they are young but at some point, coaching/development has to find them the beat defensive home that leads to their best suited position success. Even Julien can be wildly successful yet if he gets fixed. Same with Miranda and Martin. Will they all be serviceable? nope. Thats why we have a farm system.
  12. Joe Ryan was a sure fire prospect and Lewis who has already made it. Neither will be optioned back to AAA.
  13. Thats a great list of MLB camp prospects that will all indeed impact the Twins in ‘25. Who and when will be fun to watch and pontificate about. All those young and close to ready pitching prospects is something we as fans have been waiting for, for a decade plus. There is a deep and wide list, not just a few guys in AAA with a limited ceiling. Lk and Erod may both be on the 26 man for over half the season and most importantly, on the roster in October’25!
  14. One can discount Julien, Kiersey and Gasper for several individual reasons.
  15. Ty France and DH should not be spoken in the same sentence. Headrick may thrive in pinstripes and we still need to find a legitimate 1B guy. Miranda seems to be getting overlooked in that conversation. Lee and Martin are in competition for 1 of the 26 roster spots. Lee has an advantage because he can play the infield better. Martin only wins that spot as a 5th OF or if he knocks the ball around finally.
  16. I understand why this trade was made but I don’t agree with it. LHP is a premium specialty. Gasper is marginal in every way.
  17. In agreement with @Mark G! Ryan isn’t Ace status without him pitching the whole season. 32 starts, 6+ IP/start average. ERA around 3 and a WHIP sub 1.25. If we have Pablo/Ryan/Ober in that range, we will win a lot of ball games! Get a total team effort including an above average offense consistently producing 4+ runs/game average and it will be a fun season to watch!
  18. Great question! I wasn’t thinking about specifics and didn't consider that. Its probable that WAR only says so much about their individual success. Good low leverage pitching does keep pressure off the high leverage guys and keeps them fresher over the season. Its a team game and I am excited to see both these guys on the roster. Assuming they are worthy of course.
  19. If the rule 5 draftee Castellanos produces better WAR than any of the FA signings, we can finally stop signing low level replacements. Hopefully!
  20. There are a few questions in our roster and even more that could take a giant leap into stardom. All star type stardom. The first five are safe picks but what about a Larnach, Miranda, SWR, Paddack or Festa the Slim Reaper? There is probably more. Someone is gonna show up. Put up numbers and we will all say. I was gonna say his name but…..
  21. Thank god they didn’t find enough coins to sign Nick Pivetta for $55M. What a disaster that could have been 🥶😳
  22. We are now marginally worse. Basically gave Headrick away to watch France fail.
  23. Get the kid a first baseman's mitt. It worked out for Lamont Wade Jr.
