  1. Small sample size but he looks as advertised. If he develops at an above average pace and plays much better in Iowa, its certainly plausible to see him fast track to MLB in 2026. Chances are probably 50/50 at best tho. Can he become at least a .280ba guy with 20+hr/yr? Only time will tell!! He is definitely not Paul Molitor but will he be Allstar Billy Amick someday? I wouldn’t bet against him!
  2. How can you conclude it was a really bad draft before anyone has a full year in the minors? 4 years from now, Culpepper may be our starting 3B and Amick 1B and a pitcher drafted (pick one) may be a 20 game winner. It’s waaay too early to say bad draft.
  3. Like it or not, give Castro or Rosario a home in the field and they will likely suffer a major injury. Some guys just aren’t built for 1 position. I do like Rosario and would be in favor of signing him.
  4. Id trade 65 stellar RP innings for 25 starts by paddack
  5. His stuff plays when he is healthy and yeah its been awhile since he pitched a lot of innings in a season but he has as good of a shot as anyone to throw 150+ innings of 3.4 era and 1.2 whip ball as anyone on the staff. his TJ issues are behind him far enough that he just needs to throw consistently. The other scenario is that he shifts to the bullpen and throws every other day like he did in the playoffs in ‘23.
  6. Its short sighted to start shipping established pitchers out of the organization when we are in win now mode. Paddack could bounce back the next 3 seasons and be allstar material in his 30’s. He is not old and not over priced.
  7. I have always wanted a shot at Profar but have been disappointed by his production until ‘24. He screams late bloomer and should be signed for $39M!! Then figure out how to fit Sasaki into the team budget. It shouldn’t be hard to ship a couple under performing guys down the road even if you have to eat a bit of their salary. We cant stay stagnant and no reason to tear anything down! Just retool with a couple new guys and make tough choices with some guys already here. The Pohlads have a team to sell. Make it a WS contender and recoup the short term investment at sale!
  8. Listening to Falvey’s interview, it sounded like they have always gotten calls on C4 and every other player. Nothing out of the ordinary tho and nothing is imminent so it should all be taken with a grain of salt since he was emphatic about building around the current core. Any trade would make sense if someone overpays to get a guy but thats unlikely.
  9. How about ownership sucks it up and pays to play for a championship run? You can’t sell a broken down used car with crappy tires. Same goes for a pro sports team. Buy a winning team and recoup the costs at sale.
  10. There are probably too many warts to pick any one of the available draftees when it comes to us picking. It would be nice to get another left pitcher tho.
  11. Do the Padres need a backup catcher that cant hit? We need Arraez back to get on base 200 times. Send them Julien also. Maybe throw in Martin so we clear all the bad hitters off the team.
  12. Well there is always another Cavaco to draft. Hopefully not by us tho.
  13. If there ever was a year for the FO to just go all in on promoting young players as soon as they are ready, its this year and next. No hiding these prospects! Push them and stop trading for/signing the Margot’s and Gallo’s.
  14. So if he stays lean and fast and plays 2000 games in CF. Hits 250 HRs and 400 2B’s in his career. Who will complain?
  15. Trout hits a HR every 4th game. Bobby Bonds 6.01, Bob Allison 5.56. Mauer every 13.5. Its impossible to say who is a HR hitter until their career is over.
  16. No offense @DJL44 @bean5302 but Mike Trout might be a better comp to Jenkins if he ends up playing 15 years in CF for the Twins.
  17. I was on the Dollander train until Jenkins fell to us at 5. He has allstar OF written all over him. Development is the long term success key. Push him hard and get him to the show but do it right.
  18. Its an interesting topic but isnt it more important to win. We have lots of SP arms developing and we also need a shut down bullpen. Jax could handle more innings in the pen and guys like Varland need to understand the importance of 80-100 elite innings in a season. Winners get paid.
  19. Plenty of room on the 60 day iL. Sign him up and while you’re at it. Buy out his age 30 year with a team option. The pohlads wont be around long enough to have to pay him.
  20. I would keep our starting staff/depth and build an elite bullpen on top of it. Our top 5-7 starters are not the problem.
  21. Geez, there are plenty of comments about how bad our players are. We definitely are young, injury prone and full of maybe this and that. Most teams have it worse!! Could we use a Snell? Sure but the Dodgers just signed him. We will have to so without any big seals this off season cause there isnt any extra money. Get used to it. Let the young guys make mistakes and grow thru it. Thats the twins for the foreseeable future.
