  1. There are better prospects than Severino. Do you really want Dobnak and Duarte et al on the 40 man? I don’t.
  2. How does moving him from 3rd to 1st screw him up?
  3. I’m surprised there wasn’t another name or two on the list. We just became a better team and we haven’t even replaced them yet.
  4. It doesn’t look great on paper now but what if his defensive skill growth is adequate and he is a monster at the plate. Would he look better on paper with a 2.4 fWar in ‘25 after starting 140 games at 1B?
  5. 82 wins is a stumble to the finish. A melt down in closer to 70 wins. In ‘24, we were closer to a 90 win team until aug 20th. the FO is going to try running back the pre aug ‘24 team minus the meltdown.
  6. The FO isn’t making a trade unless they have a complete meltdown of a season in ‘25. Probably only a 3% chance of that happening because of the growth of young talent. The Twins simply ran out of gas in ‘24 so they just need to add more fuel for ‘25. Margot and Farmer did nothing for us so replacing just 2 guys could change everything. I honestly don’t see any way that we trade away any pitchers. Lopez is the Ace they we are building around. Ryan and Ober are co#2. If you thought last offseason was slow, Get ready for big nothing moments and another wave of prospects joining the existing core.
  7. Several guys in the high minors that may be ready for an injury call up. Canterino, Priellip, Raya etc
  8. All good points but the salaries are so low that if you DFA Tonkin or Stewart, someone will claim them. Topa is only a 40 man issue and will be off that if he goes back on the 60 Il list.
  9. How do 3 guys taking up $4M in cap space clog up payroll let alone the 40 man roster? 2 of them coming back from injury but when healthy, produce +WAR. How many Jeff Hoffmans do you want playing elsewhere?
  10. I love the Harris comparison! Enma has that advanced patience that may set him up to have a monster spring so if he does, he will be the in the bigs most of ‘25.
  11. For what we pay him, he is an asset. Best case is he is healthy and tears it up in April and May. Worst case, Pohlads are out $2M and still have an underperforming player under contract. They have made way worse investments!
  12. Erod and Keascall will most definitely be in the bigs in ‘25. Some guys ahead of them just don’t have the ceiling that they do. Jenkins will have to find a few more refined hit tools to get to the show in ‘25. Is it possible? Sure, but probs not enough until September and thats OK if he makes an Arozerena type impact in Sept ‘25.

  14. Pay the farmer buyout, pay castro and a rookie contract and you are money and production ahead in ‘25 compared to ‘24. Easy math.
  15. Big Festa fan here! I would bet on him developing into a #2/3 SP. As his career progresses, he will be right there with Ryan and SWR.
  16. Seems like they could have kept Hoffman also and left someone else off the 26man
  17. We should all get a huge case of PTSD from these signings that when kaboom. Gaaaaah. The FO has to do something different. No idea what they could possibly do tho. After Colome, pagan &Lopez, I was hoping their luck would change but it got worse. Probably because the track record of their signees was sketchier. we better get 2-3 more in house high end RP’s developed for 25/26 or we will be in perpetual almost just outside the playoffs type trouble.
  18. With all the position flexibility, we will for the foreseeable future be stuck in everyone playing multiple positions. Playing the lineup matchup rotation . Since literally every position is a question mark. Buy a #1/2 SP. Buy the best bullpen, top to bottom in baseball. Run back the same position players and bring up rookies when they are ready. Margot/Farmer/Kepler/Santana can be replaced by the farm system. Win 2 to 1 games all season long.
  19. If his power isnt like Ronalds, who cares. Develop him the way its best for him. Maybe he is more of a contact guy and gets to 2B by stealing it. Its not like the twins have a need for a .340 hitter that steals 50 bases every year. Oh wait. They do need that.
